Product Description

From the Manufacturer

WOW's Flip 'n' Tip Fred introduces kids to recycling with a fun, interactive truck. Preschoolers can learn how to sort trash while they tip bins into buckets at the front and back of the truck and click levers to send the recycling into the "crusher" to be sorted. A motorized engine drives the truck as the waste crusher spins. A clicking side door opens to empty the truck for a new day of fun-filled recycling. Two included figures help Fred as he makes his rounds.

Friction-Powered Truck Collects Recycling Bins

Flip 'n' Tip Fred assembles an array of features in a toy version of the familiar neighborhood garbage truck. The friction-powered motor that moves Fred along the floor is accompanied by realistic engine sounds. The three gray bins can be loaded into either the front or the back of the truck and tipped in with clicking levers. As Fred and his two recycling helpers drive away, the automatic "waste crusher" revolves. At the end of the day, lift the side door to access the bins. A convenient handle lets young children carry Fred on his next adventure, and moving wheels are made for push-along play.

Recycling Fun for Toddlers and Preschoolers

Fred is designed to follow your child through toddlerhood and into the preschool years. The fun of bright colors, a zooming engine, and loading and tipping encourages fine motor control practice for toddlers. The many ways to load the bins and play with the little boy and girl recyclers make for imagination-building "work" as youngsters learn how actual recycling crews do their jobs.

Fred Introduces Children to Reducing Waste

As children become preschoolers, they will become aware of the meaning of the recycling logo and the goal of reducing waste. Children can put bins outside their dolls houses to clean up the neighborhood or integrate other toys into this educational play.

Product Description

My name is Flip 'n' Tip Fred and I make recycling fun! I do everything I can to help save the planet, and my brilliant tipping buckets at the front and back send the recycling into my 'crusher' to be sorted into my three different bins. Watch me drive off with my friction-powered engine as my waste crusher spins and my clicking side door opens to empty the truck for a new day of fun-filled recycling. I love to hang out with my best friend, Stanley Street Sweeper, as we help clean WOW Town and make it a nicer place for the whole WOW collection to enjoy. We could go on for hours and hours!

The price seemed a bit steep, but this toy has proven its worth. The toy has many pieces and functions that make it a great toy to share and a great toy to keep a kid busy. My [...] son enjoys it, but it really fascinated my friend's 3 and [...] sons. It seems sturdy enough to outlast a decent amount of rough play.

This truly is the first toy that has really excited my son. He is obsessed with the neighborhood trash and recycling trucks and plays pretend with the trash cans in our house, so I wanted to get him a more appropriate toy than our real garbage. He loves this "trash truck" and plays with it well by himself. He uses the little people to play pretend and has fun manipulating the different parts and dumping the trash cans. I love that it is kid powered and doesn't use batteries and he loves that it moves and makes sounds (it is quite loud) - wonderful innovation.

My kids, 2 and 5, both play with this truck. It isn't battery powered and annoying like other trucks. Yet, this thing can really take off when the kids push it. They like moving it about the house and taking the cans and people in and out of it. If your kids like garbage trucks and have good imaginations, they will probably like this truck. (My kids run to the window upon hearing our neighborhood garbage truck.) If not, they may be bored.

Initially I thought this toy was overpriced, but I am now a huge fan of the WOW toys. This one in particular is our favorite and provides literally hours of play for my 3 year old boy. We have Dudley Dump Truck and Lifter Luke, but this one is so much more interactive. It's unfortunate the people who had a very untimely and unpredictable accident with their boy are rating the product badly as it is developmentally appropriate, stimulating, interactive and fun. We're looking forward to getting more from this company on upcoming special occasions!

When your kid goes back to a toy over and over for 2 years, you know you've gotten your money's worth. My son inherited his copy of this truck from his cousin and loved it long before he figured out how to flip the cans into the top. It's a good size, has bright colors, makes plenty of noise, is reasonably detailed and offers lots of elements for little hands to manipulate. For the littlest kids, matching the toy to the real thing helps teach that toys represent something real. Easily done with a truck whose real-life model drives down the block every Wednesday morning.

As for durability, I don't know what kind of plastic this truck is made of, but it has been subjected to use and abuse by two of our family's toddlers for over 4 years and it still looks almost new - shiny and bright. When/if my son outgrows it, I won't be embarrassed to offer it to another little truck-lover.

We bought this for our grandson's second birthday. He is fascinated with our neighborhood garbage truck and has to wave to the men every week. This toy is great! Very well made and durable. He loves playing with it especially pushing it on the tile (it zooms!) My 9 mo. old grandchild loves turning it upside down and pushing the wheels. I would highly recommend this toy.Flip 'n' Tip Fred

5/25/2011-It is now over 3 years later and my grandson (9 mo. old) turned 4 this month and this garbage truck is still his favorite toy. He plays with it almost every day and even though he plays rough sometimes, this toy looks like the day we bought it. Love, love, love WOW toys.

I love that WOW toys get back to basics...no batteries required, yet lots of moving parts and noises. Very sturdy, high quality plastic construction. This garbage/recycle truck has a bunch of different functions--levers that pick up trash cans, sliding door, etc. Very entertaining. Slightly pricey compared to the more disposable variety of discount store truck toys, but I feel that it's still a good VALUE...won't break or need endless batteries. Something that can be handed down to multiple kids/families and still work like new.

Every now then you find a line of toys that are so great you just want to tell everyone you meet how wonderful they are. I am here to tell all of you...WOW Toys are WONDERFUL!
I mean, it's like they asked 1 million parents what they would love in a toy and they created it. These toys are just plain perfect!
First - they are extremely sturdy. We own an assortment of WOW Toys and have had them for 2+ years. There is no chipping, no breakage. Our son sleeps with his Harvey the Harvester Combine every night.
Second - No little parts. Ever. Sure, there are cool things like the boulders and the people, but no tiny parts. Nothing that poses a choking hazard. Love it!
Third - They make noise but do not need batteries!
And they are fun!
