WOW's Flip 'n' Tip Fred introduces kids to recycling with a fun, interactive truck. Preschoolers can learn how to sort trash while they tip bins into buckets at the front and back of the truck and click levers to send the recycling into the "crusher" to be sorted. A motorized engine drives the truck as the waste crusher spins. A clicking side door opens to empty the truck for a new day of fun-filled recycling. Two included figures help Fred as he makes his rounds.
Flip 'n' Tip Fred assembles an array of features in a toy version of the familiar neighborhood garbage truck. The friction-powered motor that moves Fred along the floor is accompanied by realistic engine sounds. The three gray bins can be loaded into either the front or the back of the truck and tipped in with clicking levers. As Fred and his two recycling helpers drive away, the automatic "waste crusher" revolves. At the end of the day, lift the side door to access the bins. A convenient handle lets young children carry Fred on his next adventure, and moving wheels are made for push-along play.
Fred is designed to follow your child through toddlerhood and into the preschool years. The fun of bright colors, a zooming engine, and loading and tipping encourages fine motor control practice for toddlers. The many ways to load the bins and play with the little boy and girl recyclers make for imagination-building "work" as youngsters learn how actual recycling crews do their jobs.
As children become preschoolers, they will become aware of the meaning of the recycling logo and the goal of reducing waste. Children can put bins outside their dolls houses to clean up the neighborhood or integrate other toys into this educational play.
