Heart Is Back!!,
By
This review is from: WTF + 4 (EP) (MP3 Download)
These two new songs show that the duality of Heart -- the Dog & Butterfly, as it were -- is alive and very well. "WTF" is an aggressive, riff-based number in the vein of "Barracuda," "Back On Black II" and "If Looks Could Kill" with an angry Ann Wilson pondering "the hardest thing you'll ever learn is what bridge to cross and what bridge to burn." Musically the song features a strong riff, supported by great clean guitar textures and acoustic guitar, and some very interesting chord changes."Sand" is a beautiful contemplative song with a meaningful message showcasing the Wilson sisters' lovely harmonies, and Nancy's sterling acoustic guitar work. This is the type of emotive songcraft that only Ann and Nancy Wilson can deliver. The three live tracks come from a recent concert at the EMP in Seattle. If you have the opportunity, don't miss Heart live -- they still deliver the goods and are a must-see! The new album, "Red Velvet Car," is coming out Aug. 31 and promises to be another gem in the Heart catalog. And for those that are interested in backtracking, give 2004's "Jupiter's Darling" a try, their wonderful (and perhaps overlooked) most-recent studio album.

THIS IS A 5 START RECORD. I have heard 6 of the songs from the upcoming CD and have to say it is the BEST since Dog and Butterfly if not the BEST HEART ALBUM EVER. WTF has the BALLS OF BARRACUDA while SAND has the feel of Dreamboat annie or Dog and Butterfly. CLASSICS in their own right. And fit perfectly with Barracuda,Alone and Crazy on you. This is a keeper for a single and i not only recomend this but also RED VELVET CAR WHEN IT COMES OUT . YOUNG AND OLDER YOU WON"T BE DISAPOINTED!! THE HEART OF ROCK AND ROLL IS ANN AND NANCY WILSON (HEART)

This is a great EP with a tasty morsel from every decade of Heart's catalog. The 3 live songs from the March 5th 2010 EMP show are proof positive Heart still has the pure energy and sound that they've always had. WTF is blazing, agressive, and raw... you cannot listen to this song too loud, it requires it. The new studio Heart version of Sand somehow is even more beautiful than their Lovemongers original. I promise it will capture your heart and mind. Buy this EP to tide you over until Red Velvet Car releases, I'm so glad I did!

This is a good stepping stone to, from what I have listened to, is going to be a great new album from a rock band that has been enjoyable to the ear since the day they first graced us with their presence.

This Heart EP is a must have for even the casual fan. It opens with the rockin' new track WTF - with power riffing that would make Angus Young proud. The new version of the Lovemonger's classic "Sand" is breathtaking and intimate - the listener feels like their sharing a private moment with Ann about the loss of a friend. The three live tracks are a great testament to Ann's amazing talent. At 60 years old Ann can raise the roof with more power than some singers a third her age - Heart is still awesome! - Thank God!

WTF + 4 is a nice sampler of two songs debuting on Red Velvet Car, which will be released on August 31, 2010. The other three tracks are live cuts from a show taped in Seattle, Wa back in March. WTF- is an acoustic/ electic driven rocker that makes you want to crank up the stereo and hit "repeat one!" Sand, which is taken from Ann and Nancy's side band, The Lovemongers has been redone for this album. This new version is slower then when first recorded, but hold so much emotion. Ann's voice is in top form and spills so much passion into the song written about her friend who has "slipped thru." The live tracks are also fantastic, heart classics. If you are a live music fan, rock fan, or general heart fan this is a must have for your collection. Don't forget about Red Velvet Car, which is to be released August 31st! ROCK ON!

Heart still has it going on!,
This review is from: WTF +4 EP (Audio CD)
Buy this EP. by Heart. It is a must-have. I was fortunate enough to attend Heart's concert at the EMP here in Seattle and have seen these local sisters many times throughout the years. They still rock, sound as good or better than they did when they started out, and they are making amazing new music. The EMP concert was a magical night. The three live songs from that event are as fresh as the first performances. Sand, a Lovemongers' song, has made a reappearance and WTF is a lively new song that old and new fans will replay again and again. Ann and Nancy Wilson are still getting it done. Their amazing musical talents speak to my head and, most importantly, to my heart. I can't wait until the DVD of the EMP concert is available!

WOW,

This has been a long time coming. Yes! A new song from Heart. What can I say?? It's Great This song has so much of the seventies and eighties in it. Add in the sophistication that comes from years of experience that only come from being a true rocker. Love the Vocals on this Ann has still got it. This song Rocks too! How is this song so fresh and yet so new?? It's simple it has heart. Also four live versions of songs you love to hear and just can't get enough. Again Ann's vocals just leave me breathless and not all that auto tune and fake soul that so many people use today. I can't wait for Red Velvet car to be released on Aug 31. If you buy only two cd's this year make it this one and Red velvet car. Order both NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!

This recording contains only a bit of new material - including "Sand" - my absolute soulful favorite from this CD (and the Red Velvet Car CD.) This CD particularly features concert recordings with the authentic gritty vocals. If that is not to your taste, you can try the Red Velvet Car CD for more polish.
