5.0 out of 5 stars great sound
I've been enjoying this cymbal a lot. Its LOUD so be careful. I use it primarily n the studio so I have to be careful where I put the microphones because it can drown out other cymbals easily. Great tone, color and brilliance. The sustain is perfect for my applications, its fast and short, so it wont linger around too long after the initial strike. I highly recommend...

Great buy right here.! I recently put up a review for a 14 inch Wuhan Chin, and now for the 18 inch. Right there should notice i bought myself a second Wuhan Chine. :) From my other review i've said that the 14 inch sounds amazing. And so does the 18 inch. I gotta say these are my favorite china cymbals. They are cheap in price and sound like the real deal. I find no point in now going out and buying those more expensive chine cymbals. Yes u can take the chance in cracking these things easier or more quickly but for the price who really cares. Plus if u know how to properly hit a cymbal it should last u a long time. I've had never had any of my cymbals crack. My other cymbals are Zildjian A Customs. So far i have had the Wuhan China's for a few months now and no problems. Only real problem is that i get mad that i didn't know about these cymbals sooner lol. Buy these damn china cymbals!!! LoL Highly recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best China cymbal on the market, November 29, 2010

This review is from: WUHAN WU104-18 China Cymbal 18-Inch Gong (Electronics)
I've played drums for 15 years and have gone through quite a few China Cymbals. Price sensitivity aside, the Wuhan China cymbal is the best sounding china available anywhere. Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste etc. have all tried and somehow failed to get such dynamics out of their models while charging over 3x the price of this one. The rest of my cymbals are from "higher-end" manufacturers but I'll never have anything but a Wuhan on my kit unless someone wants to pay me to do it.

Typically, I do like hand-choosing my Wuhans because they are all so unique that the sound varies tremendously but at the end of the day, it sounds the same once you blend a band, EQ and recording devices on top so I just bought it on here and the one I got sounds fantastic.

I don't pound my drums, I play light and this china is jarring of your not prepraed. If you like it loud then you found the right cymbal. It's a no brainer, so if your into saving loads of money and adding a great addition to your kit don't pass this up. The finish isn't perfect but who cares, it's a trash cymbal. It will wake the drunk dude up at the back of the club if applied correctly. Enough said. BUY IT!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wuhan China 18in - Loud but Exactly what I wanted!, May 10, 2011

I've never used a China before this one, but before purchasing it I did my research.

And that is what I recommend to anyone! With the wealth of information out there, find out what sound you are looking for and then find out what brand/style/size cymbal you need to produce that sound! I found Amazon reviews and Video reviews on youtube to be my best places to look.

As for this particular cymbal, its exactly what I was looking for. Trashy with immediate decay. I have found many uses for it already in different musical ways. I will say that this cymbal is much louder than what I had anticipated. But to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way. This cymbal is meant to be bashed on... Wuhan makes many different sizes of this version so check them out and see if its the sound you're looking for.

My biggest nugget of advice to anyone interested though HAS to be do your research! Because I love this cymbal, not because its the perfect cymbal for everyone... its just what I was looking for!

This china is awesome!! :D
It has a great sound, for an amazing price!! It looks and sounds even better in person than it does in the video!! I suggest you don't spend all your money on bigger brands, and just buy this! Especially if you're on a budget!

This china cymbal is the best I have ever played. Acoustically, its sound is not comparable to any other china cymbal. It's simply gorgeous.

The sound is a nice, dry clash, what one would expect from the cymbal.

The only reason I have deducted a star is the sheer volume of the cymbal. Whilst recording, I have to remember to turn the channel down for the mic near the china cymbal. That is the only complaint I have. More of a pain in the rear rather than a problem, but it could be a problem if the volume of the cymbal drowns out all of the other mics. Make sure to space out your mics when recording. (A good habit anyways) :)

Otherwise, great earthy, dry, "chinese" sound. Wonderful cymbal.

ALSO, make sure to have enough felts to mount the cymbal safely. Without the proper amount of felt, this cymbal may be too awkward to mount. Just be careful.

I truly enjoy this cymbal. I play all styles of drumming, but mostly rock and metal, and the sound of this china fits in wonderfully with the music I play.

Good luck finding a china cymbal!

Great cymbal. The down side, this cymbal doesn't fit in with the style of music I play. Examples, christian, contemperary christian, and gospels played in a major key. The up side, sounds great played with songs that are in a minor key.

Title basically describes how I feel. This probably isn't the best cymbal, but it is a nice addition to my current setup and is still going strong.
