4.0 out of 5 stars Quirky anime-style 8-bit nes game!, April 12, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: WURM: Journey to the Center of the Earth (Video Game)
Since buying a top loader nes and starting a nintendo game collection,I have come across many treasures I never even played
when the 8-bit nes was in it's prime. So I decided to write reviews for some games that haven't been talked about on Amazon.

One really great thing about Wurm,is the different modes of play. You start out in a typical side scroller tank that drills through the earth while blowing up mutants. The boss battles consist of a combination of first person shooter and strategy by consulting with the rest of your crew on what to do next. The strategy aspect is taken almost to the extent of a star trek episode.Lastly, various members of the crew will exit the vehicle and explore on foot, which incorporates another side scrolling aspect. The close-ups of the crew members are nicely done.

Both the graphics and music are pretty good for the nes.One of the funny elements of this game is the anime-style heroine. She is a bright green-haired,latex-clad pre-lara croft type. Thinking back on the few heroines of the nes,she closely resembles Samus Aran of Metroid fame. There are also several cinema type scenes during gameplay that are like the ones found in the Ninja Gaiden series.

This game is fairly rare and would make an excellent addition to your game library. If you can buy it for a good price,I'd say go for it!
