5.0 out of 5 stars It's a Whitstle!
Even though this is a marine unit, I bought it for outdoor use. I liked the slim size.

It doesn't disappoint. This is emergency signaling gear, so I've only tested it a few times, never used it for real (thank God) but it's sturdy, packs well and makes a lot of noise when you need it to.

1.0 out of 5 stars Proved non-durable in ordinary use
I wore this whistle on a chain around my neck more or less daily for about 4 months. Even though the whistle was not subjected to any known mechanical stress, it separated at the joint between the whistle proper and the point of attachment of the lanyard. It appears to me that body heat may have degraded the glue. I find this performance less than satisfactory and do not...

This whistle is very lightweight, very loud, and a very compact size. You can remove the lanyard, which further reduces weight. This is an excellent whistle to take along on any outdoor trip: backpacking, camping, boating, hunting, etc.. This is also a great safety device to keep in your car, in your bike pouch, and in your back pocket! Do yourself a favor and order several of these. Excellent product at a great price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loud, Economical, Flat Package, October 30, 2009
This review is from: WW-3 Whistle WW-3 Res-Q Whistle/Lanyard-Sub 2228 (Electronics)
Loud, Cheap. Its flat package allows you to wear it under your shirt. Bought it for my wife. The sound reminds me of the British policeman whistle sound. Not sure how durable it is. If you accidently stepped on it, might render it useless.

Even soaking wet, it works. It does not take a lung full of air, yet it is loud and draws attention.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap but loud, May 15, 2011

The product is made of cheap plastic so careful not to step on it. It is very flat and comes as described. I was amazed how loud this little guy is and being so compact it is a great addition to an emergency pack or even for kids.

I recommend it but the price should be about $2.00 really.

I got this whistle to go with my kayak as a signaling device ( trying to keep things cheap ) and I am very pleased ; it's flat so it doesn't take too much space ,very light , it will never corrode , easy to find and above all it is LOUD , you have to try it to believe it , just the thing when you need to call attention to yourself in an emergency situation and for a few bucks you get a very good deal .

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Product, January 26, 2011

WW-3 Survival Whistle arrived very quickly and was received in its retail packaging. Blowing with very little effort and also attempting to blow it as quiet as possible had poor results - in otherwords very little effort made a sufficient amount of noise. Haven't tried a using full force but I'd expect it to work very well. The whistle is about as thick as a pencil and does not have any moving parts. The plastic seems sturdy but heavy enough pressure could crack it. I'd rather blow on plastic compared to cold or rusted metal though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Low Profile & Lightweight, November 17, 2011
This review is from: WW-3 Whistle WW-3 Res-Q Whistle/Lanyard-Sub 2228 (Electronics)
I purchased this to carry along with me when I'm running by myself. This whistle's low profile and light weight allows me to tuck it under my top and forget about it. It's exactly what I needed at a price I loved!

This little whistle is terrific! It's hard to misplace as it is so brightly colored and is easy to wear under clothing as it is flat in design. If you are lost while hiking and are trying to attract the attention of others searching for you, this whistle will do it! And heaven help the mugger who gets this whistle blown in his ear! This would also be a great safety device for senior citizens living along as it is so loud it can be heard outside through the walls of the house.
