Book Description

August 23, 1992
General Cheng has studied the American strategy in the Iraqi war from top to bottom, back to front, and now he is massing his divisions on the Manchurian border. To the west, Siberia's Marshal Yesov is readying his army. Their aim: To drive the American-led U.N. force back to the sea.
The counterstrike: Unleash the brilliantly unorthodox American General Douglas Freeman. If this eagle can't whip the bear and the dragon, no one can....

2.0 out of 5 stars Author knows nothing about military equipment or operations., December 19, 1997
By
This review is from: WW III: Warshot (Paperback)
Ian Slaters book is a good read if you do not mind the military inaccuracys. C130s that, when I was jumping out of them, shoehorned in 65 paratroopers in his book hold 220! The typos, periods in the middle of sentences etc are also disturbing. The cover says "Superior to the Tom Clancy genre", I think not. Clancy is so acccurate it calls into question security clearances, Ian Slater has not done his homework. This could have been a good read if he had done his homework. If you know nothing about the military you might enjoy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars inaccurate but I still keep reading on, December 27, 2010
This review is from: WW III: Warshot (Paperback)
Slater's books, while they improve through the series it seems, are plagued but inaccurate statements. I wish he used a military advisor. Also the timelines in the books seem off. However, the stories are good and I do seem to keep coming back to the series after my frustration wears off because the stories themselves are good.
