WWE Anthology Is Beyond What Words Can Describe..., November 14, 2002
This review is from: WWE Anthology (Audio CD)
Although I did not purchase WWE Anthology [online], it is a truly tremendous buy wherever you decide to get it if your a WWE fan to the end. What many people fail to realize is that the theme music used in the WWE isn't wrestling music for the nostalgic, its a mix of all kinds of music, from rap to hard rock, soft rock to even R&B, and thats what makes a great album. This 3-CD set journey will keep you rockin' all night, and for some, will bring back old, fond memories of the old times in WWE. CD 1, "The Federation Years", will take you back to the 80's and early to mid 90's with themes like Hulk Hogan - "Real American", Jake "The Snake" Roberts - "Snake Bit", Ultimate Warrior - "Unstable", Shawn Michaels - "Sexy Boy", and Mankind - "Schizophrenic." CD 2 will take you through the latter part of the 90's, as the WWE moved into what CD 2 is entitled, the "Attitude Era", with memorable tracks such as D-Generation X - "Break It Down", Stone Cold Steve Austin - "I Won't Do What You Tell Me", Chyna - "Who I Am", Mr. McMahon - "No Chance In Hell", and The Rock - "If You Smell...." And finally, CD 3, "Now!", will bring you straight to the present with current tunes like Brock Lesnar - "Next Big Thing", Eric Bischoff - "I'm Back", Trish Stratus with Lil' Kim - "Time To Rock & Roll", Chris Jericho - "King Of My World" (performed by Saliva), and Undertaker - "You're Gonna Pay." And with so many more songs to name, it's value is definitely worth every penny. If anyone deserves a lifetime achievement award in this world, it is the composer of nearly all the songs listed on this album-Jim Johnston. I salute you Jim, and thank you for so many wonderful songs you have given us the opportunity of listening to over the years and now.

Well Worth The Wait, but Could've Been Better, November 13, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: WWE Anthology (Audio CD)
Well, folks, it's finally here. WWE: The Anthology brings you almost every major piece WWF and WWE Theme Music from the past 18 years. Everything from Hulk Hogan's "Real American" to Brock Lesnar's "Next Big Thing" is on this puppy, . 86 total songs at a hell of a price. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because 90% of these songs have already been released on previous WWE albums and have absoulutly no need to be on this(Lita's and Chyna's music spring to mind)and there's just too many Undertaker and Triple H songs for my liking. They could've have put more unreleased material on here (Snuka, Rockers, Demoliton, just to name a few.), this collection is pretty damn good and will satisfy almost all wrestling fans. Another reason I didn't give if 5 was because on the second disc, Chris Jericho's "Break Down The Walls" is all screwed up and the CD skips for about the first forty seconds(not a REAL big deal, but it is the 2nd version of the song). It may just be my CD, I don't know, but other than that, go out and buy this awesome collection, you won't be sorry.

Are you a hardcore WWE Fan? Then you gonna love this CD!, November 13, 2002
This review is from: WWE Anthology (Audio CD)
The CD arrived to me on Wednesday Morning. I was really impressed with the artwork. Inside the CD jacket is a story about how WWE Music history came about and how Jim Johnston's first so-called studio was actually a church basement in 1985, where he had a 4-track tape deck, synthesizer and two guitars. CD 1 has old WWF old with Hogan ripping his shirt and is yello colored. CD 2 is green and has Triple H giving the "DX" sign. CD 3 is blue with new "W" logo. The cosmetics are absolutely beautiful and gave me nastalgia all over. Now, the music itself: CD 1: Awesome! All the oldies. I finally get to listen "Corporate Ministry" in clear version. It's a bit mixed, too. But how come its not in CD 2: Attitude Years? Owen Hart's theme was a mixture of siren theme and "Enough is Enough" However, my comment is that they should've did 2 Owen Themes, because they had all 3 versions of Undertaker Themes, at least 2 of Triple H's and Jericho's to name a few. CD 2: Nice! However, Where's Steve Blackman's theme and Al Snow's theme{I can't fine Al Snow heel theme anywhere on the web!} Also, they had the Kurt Angle's alternative theme, which they used a few times during his entrance. CD 3: CD#1 had 33 tracks; CD#2 has 35 tracks; However, I think WWE rushed a bit with this one, as they only listed 16 tracks and 2 of them were Taker's! Not enough themes in my opinion. They should've at least put a few generic themes of Steven Richards, Johnny Stombolli or Randi Orton. MY OVERALL SCORE[out of 10]: A solid 8 If you are hardcore fan, you gonna love this one!
