Royal Rumble 2006 is more garbage than this,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE Great American Bash 2005 (DVD)
I don't get why everyone says this is the worst pay per view ever in my opinion Royal Rumble 2006 is more garbage than this. Both events had crappy main events but the reason Batista vs JBL was so boring was because it was so long and there was no wrestling only brawling. But Kurt Angle vs Mark Henry was half the length of Batista vs JBL and in my opinion that match was alot crappier than Batista vs JBL because even though Kurt Angle won the match he won with a rollup. Both events had Rey Mysterio in the best match. But at least Great American Bash had a better womans match than Royal Rumble.Boogeyman vs JBL was the worst match of the royal rumble but was crappier than the worst match of the great american bash which was the BWO vs The Mexicools. Both events only had one big moment which was Rey Mysterio winning the rumble and Undertaker last riding hassan off the stage. Royal Rumble 2006 had 2 good matches the cruiserweight match and the rumble match. The WWE Championship match was an Ok match but the rest of the royal rumble was garbage. The Great American Bash 2005 had 2 good matches Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio and Undertaker vs Muhammad Hassan. The rest of the matches were either average or garbage. My point basically is this is not the worst pay per view ever. There are at least 3 pay per view's i know that are crappier than this Armageddon 2003, King of the ring 2002,and Royal rumble 2006 there might even be more. I don't recommend you buy the DVD but i'm just saying that this isn't as bad as everyone claims it to be. It's just not a very good pay per view.

LOWEST POINT IN WWe DVDS!,
By
This review is from: WWE Great American Bash 2005 (DVD)
This was one of the worst WWe PPV shows ever! Why anyone except maybe a WWe historian would consider owning it is beyond me. If I could give it a '0' rating I would.
The booking of the matches was some of the worst of all time. Skilled wrestlers like Chris Benoit should never lose to glorified jobbers like Orlando Jordan. The main event with Batista vs. JBL will put you to sleep. GUAR-AN-TEE! If you're looking for quality wrestling DVDs, check out Shawn Michaels: From the Vault, Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story, or The Ric Flair Collection. AVOID THIS DVD AT ALL COSTS!

The Great American Crap,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE Great American Bash 2005 (DVD)
1. MNM VS. Road Warroior Animal & Heidenreich
(WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP) Going in, I didn't think this would be a stellar match. However, since it was the match to open up the show, the crowd was pretty hot so they were really into this match and that helped a lot. The wrestling itself was not so good but with the crowd well behind the faces it worked out well. Nice moment after with Animal dedicating the win to Hawk. 1/2* 2. Booker T VS. Christian We've all seen this before. These guys were involved in a long feud for the IC Title on Raw two years earlier. Now they were on the same show again and I guess the writing team were having flash backs. This match was pretty solid but it was nothing you haven't seen before or will remember anytime soon. Booker wins with the scissors kick. **1/2 3. Orlando Jordan VS. Chris Benoit (UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP) I found it both weird and discouraging that there was no feud here at all. Benoit just won a No. 1 Contender's match against Booker T and there was no interaction between Benoit and Jordan until in the Bash. Very strange booking. Anyways, the match itself was not good at all. OJ is not very impressive. He used a lot of restholds which put the crowd right to sleep. He also got no heat whatsoever during his entrance or when he was on offense like you would expect any heel to. All he got was silence. Jordan won with the use of the exposed steel buckle. What a yawner. *1/2 4. Undertaker VS. Muhammad Hassan (NO 1. CONTENDER'S MATCH) This was not really a match. It was more of an angle for the ending of the Hassan character. That's funny considering this is the second year in a row at the Bash that a Taker has killed someone off. Paul Bearer last year and Hassan this year. Funny. Taker won with the chokeslam and then delivered the last ride right to the concrete floor underneath the stage after moving up a part of it. 1/2* 5. BWO VS. Mexicools Nothing exciting. Usual stuff you see on Smackdown all the time. Mexicools won. * 6. Rey Mysterio VS. Eddie Guerrero You had to know coming in that this was going to be your match of the night. It was but they have had better matches like Judgment Day and a match on Smackdown about a month earlier. The wrestling was great as always and there was a lot of drama with Dominick being involved sitting at ringside. This was good and it was the only bright spot on the whole show. Rey wins, meaning that Eddie would have to keep the secret locked away forever...even though he didn't. ***1/2 7. Torrie Wilson VS. Melina (BRA & PANTIES MATCH) Nothing worth mentioning. Melina wins. She is then disrobed after the match by Torrie and Candice (who was special guest referee). All three end up leaving in the undergarments. 8. Batista VS. JBL (WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP) ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Yep, that about sums it. This was a MAJOR snoozer. Letting these two guys just wrestle for all those minutes was a bad decision because they both have limitations. The crowd was dead for this and I MEAN DEAD!!! This sucked. JBL wins by DQ. Big Dave proceeds to destroy both JBL and OJ after. * This was pretty bad. Worse than last year's Bash. This seems to be the time of year in which Undertaker "kills" somebody. All of the matches (except for Guerrero/Mysterio) did nothing to stand out or were just plain bad. The main event was a complete snooze. Don't go out of your to see this. You can do better.

Worth Nothing! It Sucked,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE Great American Bash 2005 (DVD)
What a crap event. Especially after RAW put on a great Vengeance. I strongly advise everyone to not buy this, unless, like me, you are collecting the whole 2005 collection, if not stay away. I'll tell you this tough i won't be in a hurry to add it to the collection, infact i'll probably get Summerslam 2005 first, that was so much better. If you are looking for a recent smackdown ppv that is good, then get Judgment day 2005 with the I Quit match.
The only good parts of GAB was: WWE Tag Team title's match US Title match Taker/Hassan aftermath & Guerrero vs. Mysterio (Which should of been a speciality match) STAY AWAY

PPV Review: GAB,
By
This review is from: WWE Great American Bash 2005 (DVD)
Well personally I think wwe has been on a big role with ppvs lately, and I was hoping that the wwe could keep things going with the Great American Bash. Ill go into overall thoughts at the end of this review. So without further ado lets get onto the matches.
MNM VS Heidenreich / Road Warrior Animal WOW, I didn't see this one coming. This wasn't a good match, but it wasn't anything too bad. Nothing really to mention here though. Not what you want for an opener, but it did come off better than I thought it would. I still cant believe that Heidenreich was able to execute a clothesline off the top rope. Maybe he is getting better? Nah, he isnt, but that was impressive for such a bad worker. Looks like Animal will be around for a little longer than anticipated. However, MNM will win the titles back soon enough, mark my words. Match Rating: 4.5/10 Christian VS Booker T Say bye bye to Christian's push. Christian hasn't won a ppv singles match since Wrestlemania 20! That's a crime. I'm very unhappy that Booker won this match. I really have nothing much to say about this match, I'm too pissed off. It wasn't a bad match, but nothing great. Poor Christian, stuck with Booker T. Did you guys hear the "Booker Sucks" chants? I sure did. All I can say is that I hope wwe takes notice of how good Christian is, and how much the fans love him, and finally push him to the moon. Decent match, nothing good. On a side note, the scissor kick is an awful move to finish the match with. Impact™ is very unhappy with the outcome. Match Rating: 5.5/10 Orlando Jordan VS Chris Benoit This was by FAR Orlando's best match of his US title reign, and maybe the best of his whole career. Its no secret that Benoit carried him for the whole match, but Jordan's timing was on! His dropkick was great. His working on the arm of Benoit was done very well, and he even did a swinging neck breaker! More moves in this match than id ever seen Orlando do for his whole career. This match was pretty damn good, but it couldn't save the bad reign that Jordan had. Benoit is a machine. He can help make anyone look like they are the best wrestler ever. He sells like death. A flawlessly executed match, although they nearly slipped of the top rope doing the Superplex. On a side note, Has Benoit ever won a match with the flying headbutt? I can't remember one. Another pretty shocking win. Most people had MNM and Benoit going over, but not tonight. Again, a pretty decent match. Match Rating: 7/10 The Undertaker VS Muhammad Hassan This was Hassan's first really big singles ppv match, but before we get to it, we get treated to more wonderful mic work by Hassan. The wwe better find another gimmick for this guy and quick, because he has "it". Onto the match. Both men worked really hard in this match (as did the "sympathisers" around the ring), but the styles of these two men didn't mesh well at all. They tried their hardest to make this match good, but a combination of not really clicking in the ring together, and a little over booking, this match didn't come off very well. TOO MUCH OVERBOOKING! I'm pissed. They made Hassan look so damn weak. Bad booking by the wwe. Instead o having a memorable last match as Muhammad Hassan, we get a terrible flop and pretty much a squash. Awful. Match Rating: 3/10 After the match, Hassan didn't take the chokeslam well, and the Last ride through the stage you just know was onto a crash mat. Awful stuff. Not believable at all. A Tombstone on the steel would have been better. At this point I would like to say, the next four matches better be pretty damn good, otherwise this ppv will be a terrible flop. Mexicool VS BWO Hahaha, that is one of the funniest things I have seen in a while. Stevie doing the 180 was great! LMAO. Now this is a match that was never going to be great wrestling, but was more for the entertainment value. The sad thing is, with a limited number of cruiserweights in the wwe, Mexicool will never really have a good six man tag match. The match itself was bad, just plain bad. Juvi continues to show ring rust, but it will soon go away. Stevie was the only BWO member who showed he can go in the ring. Nothing to speak off. This is maybe one of the most uneventful ppvs I have watched in a long time. Match Rating: 3/10 Eddie Guerrero VS Rey Mysterio Why put this match on before the bra and panties match? Man how nervous did Rey's kid look coming out? The bad thing about him coming out is that we get shots of him throughout the match. Some "Lets go Eddie" chants which comes as a little surprise. Great energy to start the match, counters, near falls and great moves to start. I was hoping that they could keep it up for the whole match. Nice to see Rey do a Hurricanrana off the top rope again. It was executed well. Did anyone else worry that after the 619 that was the end of the match? God that would have been awful. And NOW we see why wwe isnt doing well with storylines as of late. Instead of just letting these two wrestle, they have to involve Rey's kid too much. That was a bad part of the match. Nice tilt the world backbreaker, nice inverted back breaker, just as the match is picking up, we go back to eddie and rey's son looking at each other. See the trend here? This was a decent match worthy of a decent rating, but the little interludes with Rey's son really diminished the match. They made the match too stop start for a match involving these two. Probably their worst ppv match so far in the wwe. I am now dreading this feud to continue. Match Rating: 5/10 Torrie VS Melina Its Soup Time! Gotta love pumpkin soup. Well what did you expect? I'm not even going to bother, because we all know what I would say about this match. Match Rating: 1/10 Batista VS JBL Wow, a JBL chant. Batista looks good with his shaved head, but what would look even better is his belt around JBL's waist. Coming into this match, I thought that it would be surprisingly good. You don't have to have two strong workers to mesh well in the ring you see. This was never going to be a classic, but the match as a whole came off pretty decent. Both men had their timing down. Their brawling on the outside segments were pretty good also. JBL's flying elbow of the announce table was done well. Haha, did anyone see JBL take a big kick at Batista on the outside and it pulled the Camera cord out of the camera and the screen went black? At least that's what I think happened, my cable company may have just screwed up. These two men were always going to be going at a slow pace, and keeping it methodical actually helped this match come off well. Personally, I think it was a better match that Triple H VS Batista at Wrestlemania. I saw the finish coming. Match Rating: 5/10 Well, it was better than Great American Bash 2004 wasn't it? The Crowd was pretty quiet for the whole night, and can you blame them? They paid good money and really were not given anything to get excited about! WWE was on a serious role with ppvs after WM21 until Vengeance, but my friends, that role is over, or at least stopped for now. GAB Bombed. It was a pretty damn awful ppv. Usually I write and write about ppvs whether its on how bad they were, or how good they were, but if I had to describe this ppv in one word, it would be "uneventful". There was just nothing to talk about on this ppv. Summerslam better bounce back strong, because for those of us who bought the Great American Bash, our money was wasted. Best Match = Benoit VS Jordan (I'm not kidding.) Worst Match = Bra and Panties, Followed closely by Undertaker VS Hassan. GAB MVP = Benoit. For being in the best match of the night, and carrying a sub par worker through that match. Overall PPV Rating: 4/10

This is a review of the Great American Bash 2005. I paid $35 and sat down and watched the pay per view. After I had watched 1 hour I started to feel like I had wasted my money. 20 minutes went by and I knew I had wasted my money. I started thinking about what I could have done with my money had I not spent it on this show. Pizza, Krispy Kreme mmm yum. When the main event came on I feel asleep and dreamed of what I could have spent my money on. Don't do the same as me. Keep your money and use it wisely.

im a fan of both wwe and tna. but thus this ppv just flat out sucked. i even heard vinnie mac was upset with it. eddie vs rey is a good match. taker vs hassan is only good because of the post match brawl and just because its taker. bra and panties match was hot and sexy, i loved it. rey vs eddie is the only actual good match. both of wwes gabs have sucked i hope they actually have a better one next year.

TNA!!!! TNA!!! TNA!!! GOD IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE Great American Bash 2005 (DVD)
TNA is a time bomb waiting to explode and die in the earth. WWE is great, just watch Summerslam: The No Holds Barred Match for the World title, WWE Championship [Instant Classic], The BEGINNING of the Edge, Matt Hardy Rivalry, and Undertaker/Randy Orton #2. The main ppvs of the year for the WWE have rocked and they will blow TNA's SACRIFICE PPV AWAY with SUMMERSLAM!!!!!!
TNA has had some good ppvs [New Years Resolution and Lockdow] But the ppv of having Diamond Dallas Page as the #1 contender was crap, AJ Styles should have been champ for more than a month, and Jeff Hardy hasn't been seen since May. TNA lost their chance when Matt Hardy went back to WWE and now they have no clue what to do with Jeff. Why isn't Abyss world champ? He should have won it by now!!!! TNA has some good ppvs, but their "streak" will come to an end. The WWE will NEVER die!! TNA isn't the future, WWE has been the past present and future, just get used to it!!!!!!!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE Great American Bash 2005 (DVD)
Seriously, why do less than a million people watch TNA? Because it Fricken sucks!!!!! TNA is a wannabe company that the great WWE is already and forever will be. [Although I must say that the creative writers need to be fired]
TNA has some good wrestlers and Lockdown was pretty damn good, but they are sticking to old hasbeens instead of making superstars like Rock, HHH, SCSA, Bret Hart, Cena, Batista, Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Undertaker, Shelton Benjamin, Rey Mysterio, Carlito, Chris Jericho, and MNM. [Melina is hot!!!!!!!!] Remember having Nash, Hall, and Jarret in that Kings of Wrestling crap? Somebody in TNA was smoking something really bad when they thought of that. And to the guy who says Jeff Hardy has shined completely... I must say he has, which is why he hasn't been seen since May, right? Or maybe he shined so much he realized that he would blind everyone so he decided to skip the Hard Justice PPV, am I right again!?!?!?!? TNA sucks, but I will watch it when they come to Spike TV only to make the ratings go up so there will be another Monday Night War in which the WWE will win once again and bring out the best in them once again! WCW died because of Vince McMahon and TNA will die because of Vince McMahon! Die TNA, Long Live WWE!!!!!!! Ps. TNA also has only one chick, Traci WWE has: Torrie, Christy, Candice, Victoria, Lita, Trish, Stacy, and Maria [Although some really need to learn how to wrestle.]

(A) 80+: LOCK THIS BABY IN A SAFE PLACE! (A+) WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MNM VS. LOD 2005 SUPRISED HOW MUCH THIS GOT THE CROWD GOING, BUT THAT IS JUST WHAT AN OPENER SHOULD DO. I MUST SAY I DIDNT LIKE THIS ONE. MNM ARE A GREAT NEW AND FRESH TAG TEAM, BUT ANIMAL ISNT WHAT HE WAS MANY YEARS AGO, WHILE HEIDENREICH HAS NO WRESTLING SKILLS. AT LEAST THEY KEPT IT SHORT AND AT A QUICK PACE. NOT TOO BAD OF A MATCH, BUT I JUST DIDNT ENJOY IT THAT MUCH. HARD TO RATE AS THE CROWD SEEMED TO ENJOY IT, BUT NOTHING TO FAIL. WINNERS & NEW WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: LOD RATING: 5 CHRISTIAN VS. BOOKER T PRETTY SOLID MATCHUP, BUT NOT AS GOOD AS SOME OF THEIR MATCHES IN THE PAST. CROWD WAS BEHIND CHRISTIAN MOST OF THE MATCH, AS WELL AS I WAS. PRETTY DECENT PACE, AS USUAL WITH THESE TWO. SOME PARTS GOT A LITTLE SLOW AND BORING, BUT IT GOT QUICKER AND BETTER. OVERALL A DECENT MATCH, WITH A PRETTY NICE ENDING, WITH BOOKER T HITTING A SCISSORS KICK FROM THE MIDDLE ROPE. AS A WRESTLING MATCH IT WAS GOOD, BUT I THINK THESE TWO COULD HAVE DONE BETTER. WINNER: BOOKER T RATING: 6 UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP ORLANDO JORDAN VS. CHRIS BENOIT A PRETTY SOLID MATCH. NOTHING SPECIAL AS USUAL IN AN ORLANDO JORDAN MATCH, BUT BENOIT DOES HIS BEST TO KEEP THIS ONE WATCHABLE. I HAVE TO GIVE HIM PROPS FOR MAKING OJ LOOK LIKE A SOMEWHAT DECENT TECHINICAL WRESTLER. BETTER THAN I EXPECTED, AS I DID HAVE LOW EXPECTATIONS. BESIDES THE LAME BOOKING HAVING OJ RETAIN AND THE ENDING, THIS WASNT ALL THAT BAD. WINNER & STILL UNITED STATES CHAMPION: ORLANDO JORDAN RATING: 5 CONTENDERS MATCH UNDERTAKER VS. MUHAMMAD HASSAN ANOTHER SOLID MATCH. ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THE MATCH IS TOO SHORT. ODD TO SEE NO DISQUALIFICATIONS AS THE 'TERRORISTS' THAT CARRIED HASSAN TO THE RING CONTINUED TO INTERFERE. WHAT REALLY MADE THIS MATCH STAND OUT IS THE AFTERMATH, WHERE TAKER LAST RIDES HASSAN THROUGH THE STAGE! THAT WAS SICK. OVERALL WATCHABLE, AS IT WAS KEPT SHORT. WINNER: UNDERTAKER RATING: 6 6 MAN TAG TEAM MATCH BWO VS. MEXICOOLS THIS WAS A PRETTY AVERAGE MATCHUP. THIS WAS NOTHING YOU COULDNT SEE ON SMACKDOWN. THOUGH THE ENTRANCES WERE ENTERTAINING, THAT MATCH ITSELF WASNT VERY SPECIAL, THOUGH THEY DID KEEP A GOOD PACE GOING, AND IT WAS KEPT RELATIVELY SHORT. BUT IT WAS STILL OVERALL AN AVERAGE MATCH. WINNERS: MEXICOOLS RATING: 5 IF EDDIE WINS, HE REVEALS REY'S SECRET EDDIE GUERRERO VS. REY MYSTERIO FINALLY WE HAVE A 'GOOD' MATCH. BUT NOW ITS THE STORYLINE THAT KEEPS THINGS DOWN. WHEN YOU HAVE THESE TWO TOGEHER IN A MATCH, YOU KNOW YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE SOMETHING GOOD. THOUGH I MUST SAY, I WAS DISSAPOINTED WITH THE ENDING. EDDIE HITS A HUGE BRAINBUSTER, BUT SOON AFTER DOMINATING, REY JUST ROLLS HIM UP FOR THE WIN. NOT BAD AT ALL, BUT SOME THINGS KEPT IT FROM BEING GREAT LIKE IT COULD HAVE BEEN. WINNER: REY MYSTERIO RATING: 7 BRA & PANTIES MATCH MELINA VS. TORRIE WILSON ANOTHER AVERAGE WOMENS MATCHUP. THOUGH IT WAS PHYSICAL, AND THEY DID ACTUALLY WRESTLE, I DONT THINK ID GIVE THIS ONE A SECOND WATCH. I CANT PASS IT AS IT WASNT A VERY WATCHABLE MATCH, AND I WOULDNT RECOMMEND WATCHING THIS ONE. WINNER: MELINA RATING: 4 WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP BATISTA VS. JBL WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS THIS!? THIS WAS JUST A LONG, BORING BRAWL, WITH NO WRESTLING IN IT WHATSOEVER. THIS HAD LESS WRESTLING THAN THE BRA AND PANTIES MATCH, AND BELIEVE ME, IF YOU WATCHED KING OF THE RING 2002'S MAIN EVENT, YOU'D KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. ONLY, THOSE TWO HAVE MORE POTENTIAL AS WRESTLERS THAN THESE TWO DO. BAD MATCH TO END THIS AVERAGE PPV. HARD TO SAY SKIP THIS MATCH, AS IT WAS THE MAIN EVENT, BUT I DONT RECOMMEND A FIRST LOOK. WINNER BY DQ: JBL WINNER & STILL WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: BATISTA RATING: 3 PPV RATING (41/80) = 51 OVERALL, GREAT AMERICAN BASH 2005 RECIEVED A (D) GRADE, MEANING IT WAS MEDIOCRE AND DISSAPOINTING. SOUNDS LIKE A LOW GRADE, RIGHT? WELL I CANT TELL YOU HOW MUCH I THOUGHT IT FAILED BEFORE I COUNTED THE SCORE. VERY MEDIOCRE SMACKDOWN PAY PER VIEW, AND I WOULDNT RECOMMEND IT. HARD TO SPLIT BETWEEN 1 OR 2 STARS, BUT SINCE IT WAS SO CLOSE TO AN F, I HAVE TO SCORE IT THAT WAY. |
