The Great American Bash,
By
This review is from: WWE: The Great American Bash 2008 (DVD)
1)WWE Tag Team Championship Fatal 4 Way: Ryder/Hawkins d. Finlay/Hornswaggle, Jesse/Festus, and Miz/Morrison(c) - This one starts out with Festus hearing the bell, going crazy, and taking everyone out. Once order is restored, it is decent with frequent tags and different encounters between the combatants. Ends up in a brawl, where everyone takes somebody out. Weak finish with Hawkins just tripping Jesse up on the top rope and getting the three-count. Sorry Miz/Morrison, NEW CHAMPIONS. 3.5/10
2)United States Championship: Shelton Benjamin d. Matt Hardy(c) - This is probably the highlight of the evening for me. These two work decent together and provide an entertaining match. Hardy goes for a moonsault on Shelton and hits his head on Shelton's knee. Shelton takes advantage and hits his finisher for the win. I'm glad that Shelton Benjamin finally got something accomplished this year. He has been such a waste of great talent. I would definately consider him the most "athletic" in the WWE right now. 6.5/10 3) Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho - This one isn't a classic, but does what they wanted it to...continue the story. They go back and forth for a few, then, Jericho hits HBK with an elbow to his eye. The trademark "HBK Bladejob" follows. Jericho beats him down until the ref eventually calls the match due to HBK no longer able to go on. Jericho gets the victory because of this. This storyline really intrigues me. 6/10 4) ECW Championship: Mark Henry(c) d. Tommy Dreamer w/ Colin Delaney - The match is decent considering Dreamer is involved. The shock here comes when Colin Delaney turns on his mentor. Mark Henry retains. WOW! Didn't see that one coming. 3/10 5) The *NEW* Divas Championship: Michelle McCool d. Natalya - These two work well together for another good women's contest. The bad thing was the crowd in this one. They didn't get into it at all. Natalya and Michelle McCool was even able to pull of the hard to do Mexican Stretch submission hold. Apparently, everyone was gone to the restroom, and that's a shame. McCool gets the win and is the new Divas Champion. 6.5/10 *After Michelle McCool celebrates in the ring, Jericho comes out and informs the crowd that they probably have seen HBK's last match, and that they should save their ticket stubs. That HBK has suffered a detatched retina that will keep him from competing.* 6) World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk(c) vs. Batista *NO CONTEST* - The match starts out really good w/ CM Punk showing off his athleticism going toe to toe w/ the bigger Batista. They really worked well together until Kane comes to ringside and takes both of them out. The ref calls for the bell and declares a NO CONTEST. Kane repeats the same question he's had for weeks...."Is he Alive or Dead?!" 6/10 7) NYC Parking Lot Brawl: John Bradshaw Layfield d. John Cena - I really didn't enjoy this one at all. WWE did this one backstage, and it just seemed like too much of a production. Had too many camera angles, no commentary, and too spotty. JBL lights a car on fire with Cena in it. Then, Cena rams the car with a forklift that holds JBL. They end up at the rampway leading to the ring, where JBL counters a FU and throws Cena off the stage on to a car's windshield. JBL gets the win finally! Wait, JBL actually beat Cena for a change, WOW!! Cena isn't as invincible as he is often portrayed. 4/10 8) WWE Championship: Triple H(c) d. Edge - Starts out decent, Edge and Triple have some good chemistry. I was enjoying this one most of the match, until the end. Edge and Vickie's wedding planner comes out and tries to help Edge, but Vickie follows to confront her. They both get in the ring where Vickie inadvertantly gets the spear by Edge. Edge then turns around into the Pedigree in classic fashion. Triple H gets the win and retains. 6/10 Overall - This PPV you could probably leave on the shelf, unless you're a huge Triple H fan, or you want to see JBL finally get his against Cena. This is really one of the weakest of the year to date. Most of these matches have the quality of just being on their respected shows. Really, really expected more...

The Great American Bash- I Was There!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE: The Great American Bash 2008 (DVD)
, my cousin, my dad, and my brother had pretty good seats to WWE's annual Great American Bash payperview in Long Island, New York. We didn't get to see the dark match but we got to see the entire show live which was a real treat.
Match 1- Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder d. John Morrison and The Miz ©, Finlay and Hornswoggle, and Jesse and Festus. This was a nice opener to the show but I would've preferred if this was on the mid-card and not just the first match. Miz and Morrison were barely tagged in the entire time as Finlay, Hornswoggle, and Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder were in the ring mostly. One of my favorite moves in the match was when Hornswoggle did a Hurracarana on I think was Festus. Curt Hawkins and Zach Ryder won when Jesse was on the top rope and he pushed Jesse off and pinned him. 4/5 Match 2- Shelton Benjamin d. Matt Hardy © This was a really good back and forth match between two accomplished competitors. I made a prediction before the match that because Matt Hardy had held on to the championship for so long that he was booked to lose it. I was right. Shelton beat Matt Hardy with Paydirt and pinned him for the three-count. Unfortunately, It wasn't as good as the tag team match. 3/5 Match 3- Mark Henry © w/ Tony Atlas d. Tommy Dreamer w/ Colin Delaney This was a pretty good match. My prediction was that Dreamer was gonna get squashed like a bug. I was wrong. Dreamer hit the Dreamer DDT and Mark Henry was down. Then Colin Delaney yanked Tommy Dreamers leg which led Tommy right into Mark Henry's Worlds Strongest Slam which decimated Tommy Dreamer. I even got a picture of the moment when Colin was Yanking Dreamers Leg. Again, just an okay match. 3/5 Match 4- Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels Anytime these two get into the ring it is magic. This match was bloody, gruesome, and awesome all at the same time. Chris Jericho destroyed Shawn Michaels giving him the Lionsault and the Codebreaker onto the rope. With Shawn Michael's ailing injuries Y2J had this one in the bag. Lance Cade interfered on Chris Jericho's behalf. This was probably one of the better matches. I feel very lucky that I got to see Shawn Michaels before he's going to retire. 5/5 Great Match! Match 5- Michelle McCool d. Natalya Michelle McCool was super hot so everybody stood up when she came down the ramp. Natalya- not so much. Brian remarked that she looked like a fat cow but I let that go as I watched two of my favorite SmackDown divas engage in combat. Michelle McCool tried a heel hook at the start but Natalya reversed it. Natalya eventually applied the Sharpshooter but amazingly, Michelle McCool made it to the rope and broke out. Michelle than applied the heel hook and Natalya suffered her first singles loss in the WWE. This match was way to short but WWE made up for this by having Eve and Cherry come down the ramp to celebrate with Michelle. 3/5 Match 6- C.M. Punk fought Batista to a double disqualification This match was a very good match with a lot of back and forth between Punk and Batista. The Match lasted around 10 minutes and ended when Kane interfered and kicked the cameraman over. He Chokeslammed C.M. Punk and Batista looked pissed. Batista then Spinebustered C.M Punk. The next night on Raw JBL and Batista both asked for title shots and now it's C.M Punk vs. JBL for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. It was sick when Kane kicked the cameraman. Man is he demented! 4/5 good match. Match 7- JBL d. John Cena in a Parking Lot Brawl The most violent parking lot brawl I've seen. John Cena electrocuted JBL's balls, JBL set a car with John Cena in it on fire, and many more violent things happened. The car actually went on to the stage. John Cena went to F-U JBL unto the car but JBL realized it and pushed John Cena face first into the windshield. JBL got the pinfall. John Cena actually bleeded real blood on his elbow. Cryme Tyme did not interfere for Cena nor did Simply Priceless interfere for JBL. Great Match 5/5 Match 8- Triple H © d. Edge Boy! What can I say about this match? Both competitors are seasoned veterans of the ring and it was a mostly fair match. Triple H the game got a huge pop while Edge got many boos due to him cheating on Vickie Guerrero with Alicia Fox, the wedding planner. There were many memorable moments between the two competitors such as when Edge DDT'd Triple H onto the hard ring floor. Every fan can agree that one of the best parts was when Alcia Fox interfered to give Edge the title belt to use on Triple H, and Vickie Guerrero came down the ramp and clotheslined her. Then Edge was gonna spear the wedding planner but she ducked and Edge speared Vickie. Best Match Hands Down 5/5

WWE's Best Bash Yet,
By
This review is from: WWE: The Great American Bash 2008 (DVD)
WWE Tag Team Champions John Morrison & Miz vs. Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Jesse & Fetus vs. Zach Ryder & Kurt Hawkins - This did the job that an opening match should do in that it was fast paced while everyone got their moments to look strong. The ending heavily reflected the disadvantage of the champions walking into the match as the Edgeheads walked off as champions without Morrison & Miz being involved in the fall.
United States Champion Matt Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin - This was an enjoyable solid "ground wrestling" match with a solid pace throughout the bout. It wasn't your typical "high flyin'/spotfest/entertaining" type match that both men are more famous for but it was enjoyable. ECW Champion Mark Henry vs. Tommy Dreamer - The first flop of the evening as Mark Henry just can't put on a "better than average" match when he's the one "in charge" of the match. This was just a glorified squash match in that Tommy's heavily weak offense was just no match for Henry and the moment Tommy started gaining some momentum, Colin Delany turned on Dreamer to help Henry pick up the win. Just a poor match that in retrospect was pointless concidering how Delany ended up getting released within the next month. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho - Unlike their previous encounters, this wasn't about putting on a showstealing much but heavily putting over the personal issue between both men...even to the point where HBK was so serious that he didn't do his normal "on his knee & pray" fireworks entrance & just walked to the ring never taking his eyes off Jericho. HBK was selling injuries to his ribs & eye right from the start while Jericho used a more impactful & relentless offense than normal as well. The real highlight here was the closing moments with Jericho just being the most vicious anyone has seen from him in a long time (if ever) by just beating on a bloody HBK & attacking his eye with Lance Cade getting in a shot as well. Again, not their best match but you got the story they were putting over. Divas Championship Match: Michelle McCool vs. Natalya - With the recent heavily developments in the womens division on RAW for the past couple of months in terms of stepping up & being more of the way it was back in 2002-2004 were they were putting more of a focus on the inring action, this was time for the SmackDown divas to put on a show. It just turned out to be very disappointing match as it was only decent at best & nothing really noteworthy here past McCool being the first "Divas" Champion. World Champion C.M. Punk vs. Batista - This was the shock of the night here as I didn't expect Batista's style of wrestling (when he wants to put in an effort) to clash well with Punk's but it did & put on quite the performance here as it was Punk's wrestling style vs. Batista's power style. Eventhough the ending involving Kane was kinda a jip, it didn't take away from what was a good encounter between these two NYC Parking Lot Brawl: John Cena vs. J.B.L. - Well I guess WWE finally figured out what made their "I Quit" match so well recieved...they didn't try to make them play to their weaknesses in straight wrestling, they played to their strengths & just let them brawl plus gave them toys to play with...in this case, cars. This match resembled the old Broiler Room Brawls or other parking lot matches (Cena/E. Guerrero & Shamrock/Blackman) in that they started the brawl away from the arena & eventually made their way to ringside. They used the cars, jumper cables, forklifts, and even gasoline & fire (which was a little too "over the top") as weapons in this brawl. They eventually made their way to ringside before JBL pulled a quick one by throwing Cena onto the hood of the car for him to finally get his victory over Cena. WWE Champion Triple H vs. Edge - After these two having minor interactions between each other for years now (Edge chasing the World Title in 2004/2005, with John Cena in Apr. 2006, the Rated RKO vs. DX feud, ect.), these two finally meet one on one for the WWE Title on PPV. As you saw via highlights throughout the PPV, Edge's marrage was off to a rocky start (to say the least) when Triple H revealed that Edge cheated on Vickie with the wedding planner before the wedding so Edge was out for revenge which showed as he rushed towards Triple H right from the start before HHH overturned Edge's momentum. HHH ended up hurting what looked like his wrist which Edge focused on for a while before the match went back & forth between both men including Edge continuing to block Triple H's pedigree. However the ending with the wedding planner & Vickie Guerrero (who took one hell of a spear) getting involved, Triple H capitalized on the distraction to retain his championship. DVD extras include Vickie Guerrero & La Familia backstage after the main event along with Kane backstage talking about what's in his bag. In the end, I felt like this PPV was better than Royal Rumble, No Way Out, and Night Of Champions but it's right behind all the PPV's from WrestleMania to One Night Stand. The only real flops are the ECW & Divas title matches so this is one event I would recommend.

The 4 way tag team bout for the Smackdown tag team titles was pretty good for a 4 way. The US title match between Matt Hardy & Shelton Benjamin was a hard-hitting,back-and-forth match. The ECW World title match between Tommy Dreamer & Mark Henry was short but sweet and the same goes for the Divas title match between Michelle McCool & Natalya. The HBK-Y2J match was a bloody, hardfought brawl. The CM Punk-Batista-World's title match was not great but pretty good. The John Cena-JBL-New York City Parking Lot Brawl was a hard-fought,hardcore and a good reminder of the 1990's ECW. The HHH-Edge-WWE title match was a hard-fought,hard-hitting,solid match. I give this event a 8 out of 10.

This ppv is a okay. I wasn't crazy about this. But thanks for reading and please rate or comment.
Fatal Four way tag-team match for the WWE Tag-Team championship Hawkins and Ryder vs. The Miz and Morrison vs. Finlay and Hornswoggle vs. Jesse and Fetus(Luke Gallows) Pretty solid and descent opener. I liked the fast paced action of this match and dirty moves by Miz and Morrison. Also, some ground and pound action by Festus and Finlay. This match got pretty fun when the whole thing turned into a brawl and Hawkins and Ryder got a cheap victory to become the new tag-team champs. Only to lose it like two, three months later to Carlito and Primo. match rating:3.75/5 united states championship Matt Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin Ok, but kind of boring for 2 highflyers. I wasn't very happy that Shelton won. This match had almost absolutly nothing in it. I didn't like watching it. Just a waste of time for me. match rating:2.75/5 ECW championship Mark Henry(w/ Tony Atlas) vs. Tommy Dreamer Wow. What a terrible match. Only five minuets. Terrible action by both men. The only thing that surprised me was when Colin Delany turned on his mentor Tommy Dreamer, and cost him the match. match rating:-1/5 Chris Jericho(w/ Lance Cade) vs. Shawn Michaels Really good match. Another great match put on by both men. But, in my opinion, this was there worst match, but this match was still great. What made this match bad was that Shawn Michaels eye got busted open by Jericho, and y2j took the oportunity and made Michaels not be able to continue. Leading up to the Summerslam retirement, to the unsanctioned match at Unforgiven. match rating:5/5 Divas championship Michelle McCool vs. Natalya Another expected terrible match by the divas. Thats all im going to say about this match it's so bad. match rating:1/5 World Heavyweight Championship CM Punk vs. Batista Another solid match here only to lead to a double DQ because of Kane. This match was slow at some points, but still solid with Punks kicks and highflying style and Batista's ground and pound style. match rating:3.5/5 New York City Parking Lot Brawl John Cena vs. JBL Decent and solid match. Some boring spots like JBL hiding and the moves on cars and other moments. Shocking and exciting moments like Cena nearly running over JBLoser, a ddt on cena on the top of a car, JBL getting his balls electricuted, JBL setting a car on fire, and Cena getting thrown off the stage onto a windshield. match rating:3.75/5 WWE championship Triple H vs. Edge Match of the night for me. What a match put on by these two. This match was even better than there RAW World Heavyweight championship match from 2005. Great moments like Edge doing a ddt on HHH outside, Vickie getting speared, and a big Pedigree for the game to retain. Funny buildup for this match during the Edge/Vickie wedding with Triple H pulling out gigantic underwear(Vickie's), a sledgehammer for protection, and Edge cheating on Vickie with Alicia Fox video. Match rating:5/5 I wouldn't say that this ppv is a must-get, but it can be a optional.

2008 Great American Bash
July 20, 2008 Nassau Coliseum Uniondale, Long Island, New York Fatal Four Way Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship: John Morrison & The Miz (Champions) V. Finlay & Hornswoggle V. Jesse & Festus V. Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder Ok opener here. It was below average from where I sit, but it's watchable I guess. Nothing worth spending alot of time on. Hawkins & Ryder win the titles. ** WWE United States Championship: Matt Hardy (Champion) V. Shelton Benjamin good match here. good wrestling too. I have always been a Shelton fan and I was glad to see him win the title here in a good match that told a good story, but there really wasn't any build-up so it's bitter sweet. Shelton wins!!! *** I saw Shelton wrestle at a house show last weekend and he looked a little lazy in the ring. Like, he really didn't want to be there. I hope that doesn't hurt his chances on getting a championship push anytime soon. ECW Championship: Mark Henry (Champion) V. Tommy Dreamer umm...SQUASH....Herny wins...DUD. Pointless ending with Colin turning on Dreamer because Dreamer didn't even have the match won...or was he even close to having it won so... Shawn Michaels V. Chris Jericho very, very, good and emotional match here. Jericho plays the ruthless heel to perfection and Michaels plays the gutsy wrestler trying to fight his way though injury. Jericho wins because the ref stops the match for Michaels well-being. ***3/4 Jericho is the best heel in the company right now and his Title win at Unforgiven was a shocker, but I think it will be good (even if I am a CM Punk fun). Match to Determine the First Ever Diva's Champion: Michelle McCool V. Natalya not a good match at all. Natalya is a better worker than Michelle, but she just didn't have it here. McCool wins the title, but only cause she is dating Taker. * World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (Champion) V. Batista Good match here with the psychology being that Batista is too strong and Punk is a fluke champion. They have a good match that keep me interested for the whole thing. I really don't like the ending here because Kane comes down and causes a double DQ but there was really no follow up and I think Punk should have gotten the clean win here to prove that he wasn't a fluke, but good match either way. ***1/4 New York City Parking Lot Brawl: John Cena V. JBL ok...first of all, they weren't in NYC, but long island. Second, it wasn't even in a parking lot. Third, there were TOO MANY big spots and not enough selling of those spots to make this match. Fourth, all but the end was taped the night before, so some of the "magic" that live TV has was gone. The right man won and that was...JBL. **3/4 WWE Championship: Triple H (Champion) V. Edge very good match. I think this match could have been better, but the storyline actually hurt the match in my eyes. They really didn't build up to the match. All there was was the stupid wedding thing. Triple H wins. ***3/4 I really think that last year's was a better event. It was more solid and it had better matches and storylines, but this year's wasn't too bad. Jericho/Michaels was match of the night and the two World titles match was pretty good (I don't think of the ECW Championship as a world championship anymore, WWE has made it into a second Intercontinental title).

3 1/2 stars for the Bash '08,
By Scotty M. "Little Nose" (Georgia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: WWE: The Great American Bash 2008 (DVD)
The Great American Bash 08 to me is the second best Bash the WWE has put on. The matches were all decent, but most of them was just there to continue most of these storylines they had going on at this time. Good card though.
1. WWE Tag Team Titles Jesse & Fetus vs. The Miz & Morrison vs. Finlay & Hornswoggle vs. Hawkins & Ryder Talk about an eye opener. These four teams really impressed me. Each team had their time to show off their abilities and use some good double team moves. All the teams had a very good showing and it never got boring or uninteresting. Very good opener. 3.5/5 2. United States Title Matt Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin Matt and Shelton really mesh well with each other. These two men put on a very good showing as well. Shelton pulled off some good submission holds to wear down Hardy which added some hard punishment on Hardys back. The match had some very good back and forth action with some great counters. Great U.S. title match. I really enjoyed watching this one. 4.5/5 3. Ecw World Title Mark Henry vs. Tommy Dreamer Squash match but it wasn't that bad. It had a few nice impact moves from Henry. Dreamer did everything he could to make Henry look like he was dominate. The ending worked in alright but we all knew it was coming sooner or later with Colin Delannie splitting away from Dreamer. 3/5 4. Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels Very personal match right here. Michael's ribs took a hard blow in the early going which weaken him a little bit. HBK would then try to work on Jericho's leg, even applying an inverted figure four on Jericho. Jericho would also dish out hard shots onto Michaels injured ribs. Some good wrestling here and there with some nice high risk. Michaels get very bloody and just beaten down. The match came to a very brutal end, pretty good match to watch though. 4.25/5 5. Divas Title Michelle McCool vs. Natalya Decent match. Both divas tryed some wrestling in the beginning which led to some hard pops used by both divas. Natalya pulled off an impressive surfboard on McCool. Both gals used submissions. I really like Natalya using the sharpshooter as her finishing move, I think it works pretty well for her. Wasn't really all too fond of the conclusion but oh well. Average women's match. 2.5/5 6. World Heavyweight Title Batista vs. CM Punk I must say before hand, earlier in the ppv Cm Punk had a pretty interesting interview that I recommend on checking out. The match was very good too. Punk used those viscious and hard kicks of his very effectively on batista. Batista did showed his strength by just overpowering the smaller Punk. Punk pulled off some great counters and the match had some very close near falls. Punk also takes a hard slam onto the floor late in the match. The dq by Kane really took away from the match in my opinion but the after match beatdown by Batista made up for it. Good title match. 4/5 7. NYC Parking Lot Brawl JBL vs. John Cena I have to say I wasn't really all into this one while Cena and JBL fought in the parking lot. Both men dished and recieved hard punishment out there. They both took some sickening impact blows into the car windshields and windows. JBL would even set a car on fire with cena in the car. I really enjoy the match once it got taken to the stage area. JBL took some very hard slams on the steel stage. I felt it had a very good ending as well and I really enjoyed that part the most. Brutal end in this one too and the bloody arm of cena and the beaten body of jbl proved it. 3.5/5 8. WWE Championship Triple H vs. Edge I also have to say for this match that it had a pretty weak storyline building up to it. But the match made up for it. The match started out very fierce and intense. The match had some good outside ring action. Edge really works on Triple H's ribs. Both men took a lot of hard impact shots. Edge would also hit the edgeacution on Triple H on the floor. The inteference was only to continue Edge's storyline with Vickie but it didn't take away from the match at all. Good main event but I did expected a little bit more from these two talented superstars. 4/5 The Bash 08 was a good but not nearly as good as 2007's. I recommend this as a rental.

A Good American Bash,
This review is from: WWE: The Great American Bash 2008 (DVD)
If you want a short review, this year's Great American Bash was miles above the Bash last year. Most of the matches were solid, and the outcomes were a little surprising. That is not to say that the PPV isn't without its flaws.
1) Fatal 4 Way WWE Tag Team Championship Match- 6 out of 10- Decent opener. Funny moment was Festus facing off with Hornswoggle at the beginning. Of course, nothing happens to the comic relief. The ending of the match was a little disappointing for the fact that Hawkins and Ryder are not exactly what I would classify as a good team. Their only real claim to fame would be as members of La Familia. Miz and Morrison shocked me with their near 8 month reign as tag champs. I would have liked to have seen that continued. 2)U.S. Championship- 7 out of 10. Another shocking outcome. Shelton Benjamin got this opportunity by having a lackluster (at best) match with Matt Hardy on Smackdown a couple weeks before. During this match, I was wondering to myself why couldn't Umaga, Kennedy, or any other big name get the title shot instead? Regardless, this is still a good match. And I guess there ain't no stopping Benjamin now....except the ratings. 3) ECW Championship- 2 out of 10. The ECW brand has gotten better in recent weeks. But you would never know by watching this match. If you thought Dreamer was a lamb led to slaughter before this match, you were correct. The only redeeming quality to this match was the turn by Colin Delaney which was another unique surprise. Otherwise, your DVD chapter skip button was likely created for this match. 4) Y2J vs. HBK- 8 out of 10- Anytime these two lock up, it's a great match. They could have their worst match in one night and still come out with one of the top matches of the night. People complain about the finish. I personally think it was awesome because I want to see this feud continue. It's the best thing going on Raw right now. And this really solidifies Shawn Michaels as one of the best "bleeders" in the business. 5) Diva's Championship- 6 out of 10. Good match. Natalya can hook in the Sharpshooter better than 98% of the people without the last name Hart can do. I liked how the match evolved to the Brazilian Heel Hook vs. The Sharpshooter. McCool wins the match. 6) CM Punk vs. Batista- 7 out of 10- Surprisingly, the styles of Batista and CM Punk meshed well together. I'm getting a little tired of Batista always being in the main event, but give the man his due. More times than not, he finds a way to have a decent match. CM Punk is the consistent worker he's been since arriving in WWE. You could see Kane's interference coming a mile away if you saw Raw the previous Monday. Punk retains, Batista gets upset, and a cameraman gets obliterated by a Kane big boot. If Kane keeps this up, the cameramen might need to start a union. 7) JBL vs. John Cena- Parking Lot Brawl- 7.5 out of 10. I know that part of the match was probably taped and produced heavily before the PPV. However, it doesn't take away from my viewing enjoyment. I literally cringed at several points, including Cena going through a door. As a person who doesn't like either one, I was rooting for both to take each other out. The ending again was surprising considering WWE has spent 4 years making Cena look like he has a S painted on his chest. A few less gas guzzlers are on the streets thanks to this match. However, JBL is a true heel for wasting gas like he did. 8) Edge vs. Triple H- 8 out of 10. I consider myself a fan of Edge because he does a great job being the arrogant pr....well, you can finish the rest. The buildup was lacking considering Triple H found himself mostly outside the main story of Edge's soap opera with Vickie Guerrero until the final Smackdown before the Bash. However, Edge and Triple H have a standard WWE PPV main event match... and deliver well. The final few minutes involving the wedding planner and Vickie made the match for me. Triple H wins, and Edge goes from hearing wedding bells to hearing Hell's bells. (Although I would imagine being married to Vickie might be a worse hell than the Undertaker.) This was a good PPV....not a great one. If you want to see a great PPV from earlier this year, check out One Night Stand or WrestleMania. If you have a few extra dollars however, check this one out.
