4.0 out of 5 stars WWE Insurrextion 2002: Not Bad of a ppv, August 19, 2005
By
Sniper3:16 (Perth, WA, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: WWE Insurrextion 2002 (DVD)
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match:
Rob Van Dam (c) vs. Eddie Guerrero
This match in my opinion was a very exciting match-up that was cut too short in length. The match still delivered a fast pace with some spectacular high flying manoeuvres although with a disappointing finish of RVD winning by dq. 7.5/10

Women's Tag Team Match
Jazz & Molly Holly vs. Trish Stratus & Jacqueline
Actually this match was actually quite entertaining where in general women matches are quite poor. This match in my opinion wasn't very special although it still was a watchable women's match-up. 6/10

Bradshaw vs. X-Pac
An alright match with a couple of highlights although all in all not too exciting. X-pac does get Powerbombed of the top rope and Bradshaw gets all bloody although the wrong person won this battle, X-pac in my opinion. 5.5/10

WWE Hardcore Championship:
Steven Richards (c) vs. Booker T
This match in my opinion was almost match of the night it was spectacular high flying hardcore match that you see between guys like Jeff Hardy & RVD. This match was still pretty brutal with a unique variety of weapons used such as trash cans, broomstick, sterling silver and tables. The match had multiple title changes which made the match more interesting. 8/10

Hardy Boyz vs. Shawn Stasiak & Brock Lesnar w/Paul Heyman
I did not see the point of this match Brock's match against Jeff Hardy at Backlash made him the huge heel character. It was short and above all else very boring with little of an arsenal of moves used. 5/10

WWE European Title
Spike Dudley (c) vs William Regal
Very disappointing four mins into the match and poor Spike has broken his ankle supposedly and then Regal beats him up. Then suddenly Spike rolls up Regal and wins. This wasn't a match. 3/10

Stone Cold vs. Big Show w/Ric Flair as guest Referee
This was the match that the crowd had been waiting for and it certainly delivered what it needed to do. Show dominates the first half of the match and then Stone cold with a cool Lou thez press from the top rope gaining him the advantage. Also tons of stunners in this match-up to Show, Nash and yes Ric Flair, an awesome match. 9/10

Triple H. vs. Undertaker
I was very surprised with this match it might've not been for the world title although throughout the match it seemed like a world title match. This match displayed plenty of nice moves by HHH & Taker a lot of reversals throughout the match engaging the audience to decide who the hell is going to win. The ropes also break during the match forcing the two to use each other as leverage. Fantastic match 9.5/10

Overall mark 53.5/80 making Insurrextion a B in which I believe that Insurrextion is the worth the money although do not be expecting a ppv with the calibre of Wrestlemania or Summerslam. Insurrextion was a good upgrade of the regular matches that you would see on Raw with 2 very superior matches. Thankyou for reading my review on WWE Insurrextion 2002.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Game Reigns At Insurrextion, December 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: WWE Insurrextion 2002 (DVD)
This was one of the better insurrextion events out of the 4. The opener and the double main events make this one worth a purchase, but this isn't a must get. Thanks for reading!

Intercontinental Championship
Eddie Guerrero vs. RVD
The international event started off well as guerrero and rvd put forth a good effort and a good solid wrestling match. We see the usual highflying moves from van dam and the dirty tacktics of eddie, so the two styles mixed well. The ending is a bit of a jip, but it dosen't take away to much from this solid contest.
4/5

Tag Team Match
Trish Stratus and Jacqueline vs. Jazz and Molly Holly
This was one of the better divas matches i would think. It had some good wrestling from one of the best women's wrestlers in trish and they worked pretty decent. Once again, it was average, but just nothing special, which was expected.
2.75/5

X-Pac vs. Bradshaw
Why in the world was this match on the card? Nothing special, as we see bradshaw(better known as jbl) dominate x-pac, until hall enterfered and helped him win the match. No doubt in my mind that this was a filler, because it really displayed the crappy version of the nWo at the time.
2/5

Hardcore Championship
Stevie Richards vs. Booker T
Your not going to see any kind of rvd/jeff hardy hardcore match here, but i can't complain. This had some solid action, which hardcore matches didn't really have at the time, and also a good use of weapons. The match got really crazy at the end and the aftermath was the usual hardcore title style as the belt changed hands a few times, which leads to the title going back to the person that came in with it.
3.75/5

The Hardy Boyz vs. Brock Lesnar and Shawn Stasiak
Once again, just like the xpac/bradshaw match, this was another filler. You had two guys that disliked each other in lesnar and stasiak, trying to beat the holy hell out of the hardyz and the match gets really boring because of that. Not many highflying spots by the hardyz either, so i don't think i will be watching this one again.
2/5

European Championship
Spike Dudley vs. William Regal
All this is is regal beating spike down, to where dudley gets injured and then he beats him down some more after. Nuff said.
0/5

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Big Show
Special Referee:Ric Flair
This was the suprise of the night as show put on one of the best performances in his career, if you can believe that. Flair made this very entertaining as well, getting involved at times. Some cool moments in the match, like a second rope lou thez press by austin on to show. Kevin nash would later get involved, but it didn't take away from this enjoyable contest. Austin pulled a good, entertaining match out of show and the aftermath is also something to take a look at.
4/5

Triple H vs. Undertaker
This was a raw vs. smackdown matchup, but it was a title caliber bout. This match told a good story, as taker ruined hhh's undisputed title run, so there was some bad blood between these two. As for the match, it had some clever counters, good wrestling action, and a nice pace. Once again, this match had entertaining spots, and in this one, the top rope breaks at one point. The match wasn't all that long in length, but it is a match that will keep you entertained throughout and it left me quite satisfied. A good main event to close out the show and it is worth noting, that most people favor this match over their later king of the ring encounter.
4.5/5

Overall, this is worth getting for the last two matches, that were very entertaining, even though not 5 star material. The mid-card only has a couple of standouts, but it dosen't take away from the event. I may have overrated this one, but i favor it to be one of the better international events.
