4.0 out of 5 stars The Home Town Hero vs. "A Paul Heyman Guy" September 24, 2012
A couple of notes here in that WWE started to show their support for the fight against cancer here by having the middle rope pink along with John Cena having a special pink colored "Rise Above Cancer" merchandise. Also with Jerry Lawler recovering from his heart attack earlier in the week, J.B.L. returned to commentary alongside Michael Cole for the show.

Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara vs. Cody Rhodes - With Miz being caught in the middle of Cody Rhodes' issues with Cara & Mysterio over their mask, we got a fatal four way match for the title. As usual with these type of matches, it was filled with various highlights like it being a glorified tag match at times with Miz & Cody working together while Cara & Mysterio did the same, Cody & Miz trying to out do the other, Cody Rhodes actually getting some fan support, Mysterio & Cara facing off for the first time ever, and the match ending with a third masked man. Great opening match full of non-stop action.

WWE Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston & R-Truth vs. Kane & Daniel Bryan - Before the match started, pay attention of J.B.L. as he had a funny time towards Kane's old adversary in Pete Rose. Both teams traded momentum with Kofi & Truth working together while Kane & Bryan were working their singles offense including the way Bryan was able to get the No Lock on Kofi at one point. It backfired when Kane & Bryan attempted to work together only to result in a shoving match before hugging it out before there was a moment where it looked like Bryan was trying to save Kane only for him to take a shot at Kane himself that had a result that he didn't plan on or expect. The match was average but more about continuing the "anger management" storyline between the two.

WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro vs. Zack Ryder - Ryder got the title shot from winning the pre-show battle royal. Cesaro was dominate from the start, with Aksana posing in different positions all over ringside, over Ryder including one move where he tossed Ryder up in the air only to catch in with an uppercut forearm on the way down. Ryder was able to gain some control towards the end of the match but it was overall a dominate showcase for Cesaro.

Randy Orton vs. Dolph Ziggler - Both men traded momentum early on with both men knowing each other so well that they had the others offense such as Orton able to counter Dolph's fameasser into a powerbomb while Dolph used Orton's old grounded headlock but bridged his body in order to add extra pressure before Orton took a page out of his father's playbook with a top rope superplex. Orton went for his hanging DDT with Dolph able to counter forcing Orton to take it to the outside where Orton was able to hit it but hurt himself in the process before Dolph came back with a counter to the RKO & Orton countering Dolph's own sleeper as well. This was a very competitive match between both men that resulting in the fans showing support for both men throughout the match.

Divas Champion Layla vs. Eve - Kaitlyn was attacked earlier in the night causing SmackDown General Manager Booker T giving his assistant Eve the title shot. Eve went for a headlock take down early only for Layla to counter into head scissors before Eve was able to escape only to still be taken down with an armdrag. Layla tried to show some sportsmanship like Eve had been showing her & Kaitlyn for the past few weeks only for Eve to aggressively attack her including ramming her into the apron twice targeting the ribs followed up with a body scissors that did come into effect later on with Layla attempted a springboard kick only to land on her ribs. This was one of the better divas matches in recent months.

World Champion Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio - Booker T came out before the match to announce that Sheamus' Brouge Kick was no longer banned with Sheamus responding to that by knocking out David Otunga with the kick. Both men battled with Del Rio giving headbutts & kicks while Sheamus gave a neckbreaker & shoulder block after Del Rio went through the ropes & landed back first on the floor but Rio targeted Sheamus' arm using the ringpost & various armbars including a full body one while he was hanging from the top rope. Sheamus fought back beating on Rio's chest & countering Rio's attempts at the cross armbreaker various times before a miscalculation caused Sheamus' arm to still be attacked with Rio being ruthless in applying the cross armbreaker. Just like their previous three PPV encounters, this was a solid match with great storytelling & selling in regards to Sheamus' arm.

WWE Champion C.M. Punk vs. John Cena - Paul Heyman gave an introduction to "his guy" in Punk before his entrance while Punk work N.Y. Yankees style gear & held up the championship for an extreme amount of time just to get under the skin of the crowd. Both men went back & forth with some wrestling early with Punk showing off to the point where he walked on Cena to go to the top rope which Cena had a response to in attempting an electric chair that was countered into a DDT by Punk followed by taking a page out of Great Muta's playbook with a his variation of a chinlock. Cena got more aggressive throwing Punk into the crowd near his Dad before suplexing him back to ringside with Cena later going out of his comfort zone by doing a suicide dive onto the outside onto Punk. Both men were matching each othe move for move & counter for counter like Punk at one moment caught Cena in the middle of one of his trademark moves into the anaconda vice that was rolled over into an STF that was countered into a crossface & later Cena was able to counter a GTS attempt into the STF before another GTS attempt that countered into an A.A. Both men kept kicking out of each others signature moves while also attempting to aerial with Cena's top rope legdrop & Punk with a moonsault to the point where Punk even took a page out of The Rock's playbook to no avail. Punk is one of those people who can pull the best wrestling performance out of Cena & that continues to be showcased here as this was on the level of their previous Money In The Bank & SummerSlam matches from last year with the only downfall being the finish but it opened the door for another match which is something I wouldn't object to.

In the end, this PPV didn't have a bad match on it & was enjoyable from start to finish to it's worth a viewing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Match listing on back of DVD case not complete January 10, 2013
By Maureen
This is not a review of the Pay-Per-View Event itself but is more of a review of the match listing on the back of the DVD case. I just wanted to point out to everyone that has this WWE Pay-Per-View Event on DVD and to anyone that is going to buy it in the future that if you look at the match listing shown on the back of the DVD case you will or might notice that the match listing is not complete and does not list the Fatal Four Way Match for the Intercontinental Championship featuring Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs Cody Rhodes vs Sin Cara vs Rey Mysterio for some stupid reason.
