Mildly Entertaining,
By Mark D Snyder (Prospect Park, New Jersey United States) - See all my reviews

Maybe it's because I recently revisited my past by playing Commodore 64 games but WWE Raw for PC has some really outstanding graphics for a PC game. There are different matches to choose from: Single, Tag Team, Hardcore, Triple Treat, Fatal Fourway, King Of The Ring, all championship belts are up for grabs and more options than I care to even exercise. It is old in the since that characters are from 1 year ago and that may be reflected in the price. Raven walks down the ramp with a shopping cart of harcore items and Perry Saturn walks down with Moppy. My only lament is that it seems the game is an Xbox conversion rather than a made for PC game as evident is the lack of multiple keyboard keys to enter in a wrestler's name. Pentium 500 Minimum, 64MB RAM,128 MB required for Windows XP.

WWE Raw review,

This is probably the best wrestling game made for the PC. Has awesome match types. This game also has a good create a superstar feature, which allows you to take different items to create the ultimate superstar. This game has authentic entrance videos and pyrogenics. Awesome graphics and gameplay.

Not perfect, but still the best pc wrestling game ever,

PC wrestling fans have been waiting for something like this for years, and this game finally gives us something decent to play. The graphics are the best in any wrestling game right now, and you don't even need that much horsepower to play it, I'm using a geforce4mx and 1.4 Athlon with all the details enabled. Unfortunately the animation still needs improving, especially walking. The sound is awesome, you get most of the real wwe themes from the time this game was released, and the game also has great modding potential. There aren't any specialty matches, but the games weapon system makes up for this in replay value. Unfortunately, this engine needs a story mode badly. The gameplay is not as intuitive as that of the other THQ engines, but that's because it's also more realistic than the other engines, it's as if you're fighting for real and your oponent refuses to lay down for you. This means that if you're using someone like Rhyno, you won't be able to win every match with the gore, sort of like japanese wrestling. Fortunately, if you pick a "huge" superstar like the rock, your popularity will allow you to hit the rock bottom quite easily, but you really have to beat up your oponent to it the people's elbow. Anchor also needs to add a lot more moves to the create a wrestler section, I mean not only are booker t and RVD missing from the roster, the spinaroonie's also missing! I also miss the excellent create a stable feature from smackdown. There are some stables already programmed in the game, but you can't make new ones, and other tag team partners always enter the ring separately. The stables I've seen so far are Xfactor (3 members), the entire Holly family (3), Team Extreme (3), and Edge & Christian. I love the game, and I hope THQ also ships RAW2 for the PC, because wrestling is one of the most underdeveloped genres in PC gaming and I am sure many people would pay good money to see mr. Monday Night, the Gold Freak, and the 5 time WC champion!
