Following in the tradition of the 2009 RAW season set along with the upcoming ones for last years RAW (2010) & beginnings of both WWE RAW & WCW Nitro, WWE released a set showcasing the 2009-2010 season of SmackDown. Now unlike how the "Best Of RAW" showcased the entire calender year, this only showcases the year long period from October 2009 to September 2010 which just also happened to be SmackDown's 10th season with then-SmackDown host Todd Grisham & Matt Striker hosting the DVD. Now you already have a list of the various moments on this set so I won't repeat that but here's a review of the actual matches on the set.

John Cena, D-Generation X, Undertaker vs. Randy Orton, Legacy, C.M. Punk - This was the main event on the season premiere of SmackDown with all participants in the 3 upcoming Hell In A Cell matches at that same PPV meeting here. This was overall a very fun match to watch with everyone getting their various moments & momentum switching between both teams. However as a tease for what's to come in the future, pay attention to the tension between Undertaker & Shawn Michaels based off the fact that this was the first time they were close to each other since WrestleMania 25.
Oct. 2

World Champion Undertaker vs. C.M. Punk - Punk got his rematch here after Undertaker won the World Championship at the Hell In A Cell PPV with the conditions being heavily in his favor. The setup for this match was exactly like how they were at the Breaking Point PPV where Punk scored his "win" over Taker in that this was a submission match & Scott Armstrong was the referee while Teddy Long sat at ringside.

I didn't buy this set, but I remember all the matches and moments featured on it. Based on that alone, I'd give it 3 stars. Why? Well, the 2009 part is surely the best part about this set. The 2010 part is where the set really kind of dips in quality. I really wish WWE had included the Spring to Summer of 2009 in this set, because that's where SmackDown really did shine that year, but sadly, I believe it wasn't included simply because of Jeff Hardy's inclusion in SmackDown at that time. I mean, the set is missing so many summer classics. Rey vs. Jericho feud, Morrison vs. Edge match for the World title. Rage In A Cage - Jeff Hardy & Rey Mysterio vs. Edge & Jericho with CM Punk as special ref if I recall correctly.

Plus, CM Punk vs. Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight title in a Cage match. If it doesn't have anything to do with Hardy, then it's because WWE wanted to start the set off with the 10th anniversary of SmackDown. I don't blame them, but that's real BS or Hogwash IMO. They could have at least started the DVD at Spring to summer of 2009, and continued there, or just release Best Of SmackDown 2009 as they should have done instead of rushing it out just to get part of 2010 out as well. Well, that's all for my review.

I wouldn't really recommend this set. But it's worth it for a few key matches like Morrison vs. Ziggler, Rey vs. CM Punk, and I believe there's also Rey vs. Del Rio from the night Del Rio debuted in there as well. Jack Swagger's title reign sucked, and should be avoided. Other matches I've forgotten about are worth it to. CM Punk's promos are also worth it for this set. Overall, 3 out of 5. Get it if you want, but I'm not buying it.
