Reading the early reviews of this game, I got angry at all the negativity surrounding it. I loved the first Smackdown games, and figured the next generation on PS2 HAD to be fabulous...but now that I've had the game and played it for awhile, I can see where they were coming from.

First off, the game is graphically beautiful...the only exception perhaps being the 2-D...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth about WWF Smack Down: Just Bring It, November 12, 2001
By
"shukokahn" (San Antonio TX, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: WWE: Smackdown! Just Bring It! (Video Game)
The truth about Just Bring It is hard to find out reading all these costumers reviews. Here is the truth about the game play. It is the exact same controls as the previous Smack Down Games. But it seems to be diffrent from the previous games because the game is smoother and faster, so the controls seem to be alittle weird at first then you get use to it. The graphics are seriously intense and smooth. Austin finally looks like Austin. Kane finally looks thick and not pale like he was dead.

There taunts and movement is smooth and life like. It looks like your watching the show on tv. You can jump into the crowd and the people move out of the way and cheer for you. You can go up the ramp with out having to wait for a stupid arrow to turn blue. The wrestlers music is there. Exept for Austins. Its new. Its not Disturbed's version, or his new one bye Zach Wylde. So I don't know what is going on with that. But Rollin' and The Game by Mottor Head and Limp Bizkit for Taker and Hunter.
You're probaly asking " How the hell do you know this, you are probaly lying like everybody else. " (...) I also know this because I am one of the 500 people who won a Just Bring It demo disc. That is every thing on the disc that I explained. There is two diffrent matches you can play in the demo. Single and Tag. I explained the singles match. The tag match is similar. But the difrence then in the previous smack down games, you don't have to throw your opponent in to your corner, that is just one of the ways. When your partner jumps into help you let him pick up your opponent and then do a move while you partner is holing him and you will do a double team move. Now that was just the demo I played. No for the info on the full game. This is from the official web sites of THQ and the Smack down game web site.
There are ruffly 35 diffrent wrestlers. I am sure there will be a couple of hidden charecters. Who they will be, I have no clue.
70 diffrent match types. The only ones I know for fact are TLC, Hell In A Cell, 6 man tag, tables, ladder, Royal Rumble with up to 9 people in the ring at one time, Bigger King of the Ring card, others I don't know about. Now there are some truths to what people are saying in there reviews. You can rome around backstage, come out to the ring to interfere in the match, you can can fight for the hardcore championship anytime you want with the 24/7 rule, walk in and bug the commish or Mr. McMahon and get a match. That is true, check the websites. You can also jump your opponent before he gets to the ring, pic a fight with your tag partner if you loose a tag match, If you beat up the ref to much he will disqualify you, he has done it to me sevral times in the demo. You can distract him too if your opponents try to pin your tag partner. There is going to be a verry huge and extensive back stage area for you to fight in during falls anywhere and hardcore matches. The full entrances are there. Unlike in the previous titles where you just walk in front of the Titantron, it shows the titantron video, then you see them walk through the curtains, down the ramp, up the walk way and then into the ring. Kane will throw his down and the ring post will burst into flames. Hunter will stand on the ring apron and spit water into the crowd. Taker rides around the ring on his Titan Bike. Austin jumps up on all the ring post. Rock does his thing on the outside of the ring post. The entrances are the way they should be. Even Howard Finkel annouces you into the ring. Him or Michael Cole. I am still trying to find out about that one. But you are itroduced to the ring. Michael Cole and Tazz to comentary. You can interact with them during a match, and Tazz even calls the matches he is in. Thats pretty cute. These are the truths about WWF SMACK DOWN JUST BRING IT. Don't listen to these people who say they have played the games, or know someone who has. Check the web sites I have listed and make your own choice about this game and Raw Is War. But from what I played on the demo, this is going to be one of the must buy games if you are a WWF fan, or just a sports fan. I hope I helped you make a decision, and have fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars best wwf game ever!, November 3, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: WWE: Smackdown! Just Bring It! (Video Game)
first of all, it's been confirmed that there will be at least 45 wrestlers including hidden ones such as rhyno, foley, spike, tajiri, shane, justin credibile, jerry lynn, and (!) fred durst (!). plus for those who said it will be as unrealistic as the other games, u r wrong! i just saw a new movie of a hardcore match between rhyno and jeff hardy and here is what happened: jeff climbs on top of the lockers and does a swanton bomb (not the finisher 1) to rhyno, who sells it really well and stays down for 5 seconds and then staggers to his feet, then jeff gets a melon and hits him once, which makes rhyno spin around, then he hits him for a second time, and he goes straight down! then when he tries getting up, jeff hits him once and ge goes down again! and in the next movie, rhyno also goes down after 2 chair shots and stays down really long!! there r many other reasons to buy this but i'll be up all night listing them! plus ROAMING MODE!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Smackdown! Just Bring It Review.., November 14, 2001

I managed to be one of the few that got a demo of Smackdown! 3 and I must say I was very impressed, despite a few glitches. The wrestlers move more fluently, able to do more reversal, and you can beat the (stuffing) out of the ref! (Especially nice for all you Bret Hart fans). This is almost as close to WWF as any games have gotten! You can leave the ring and fight up on the stage, or in the crowd (Although the crowd is 2 dimensional). You can get two Smackdown moves for people like Angle and Rock, the music now is more authentic (With Limp Bizkit Undertaker song in it FINALLY!), and the graphics are very sharp and clear. There are a lot more options of fighting (Such as Tag Team TLC match), and I can't wait to do the Roaming Mode, where you can seek out Earl Hebner and take on the Hardcore Champion anytime during the game. Definitely not perfect (WWF Raw for XBox looks better)and it had some noticable glitches but Smackdown! Just Bring it is a LOT of fun, possibly the BEST wrestling game ever (But no Rob Van Dam).

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Game (recomended), July 31, 2002
By
Justin (McCook,NE in Good ol' USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: WWE: Smackdown! Just Bring It! (Video Game)
This is a great game with amazing graphics and gameplay. Story mode is not all that great unless you win the WWF title. For instance if you win the WWF Tag Team Titles you have to defend them alot and after you win you dont unlock but on thing. The matches that it's are missing are Inferno, First Blood, Bra and Panties, Inter-Gender and Casket match. Aslo the Hell in the Cell should be around the ring not on it! They are missing some superstars in it. It has great match selections though for example 3 stages of hell and you get to chose three match types and wrestle the guy you hate (Vince Mcmahon vs Stone Cold !)And it also has Cage, Hell in the Cell, Armegedon Hell in the Cell witch is 6 men in the ring at once! You can get up to 8 men in the ring in the Royal Rumble it's crazy! The entrances are very authentic Austin stands on ropes. Triple H spits his water and Undertaker and Kane entrance Kane blows out the piro fire and right after that Undertakers music clicks on its sweeeet! People that have really good graphics are Big Show, Triple H, Stone Cold, Rock, Undertaker, and Kane look so life like. The thing I hate most is you cant get the Three Faces of Foley: Cactus Jack, Dude Love or Mankind. I recomened it to every true WWF fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars WWF SMACKDOWN3 ROCKS!!, November 6, 2001
By
Tha Master (the Netherlands) - See all my reviews
This review is from: WWE: Smackdown! Just Bring It! (Video Game)
More than 35 wrestlers like Angle, Stone Cold, the Rock, Kane and Y2J without the secret characters like Rhyno, Tajiri, Mick Foley and Fred Durst. Over more than 68 kinds of totaly different matches, like the royal rumble, 8-man battleroyal, 6-man tagteam matches and the favorit table, ladder and TLC matches. Now with all live commantery, they even will call your name as you make your way to the ring. Also they will bring their titles sometimes. Also fun wil be the create-player mode. You can even create your own tawnt. You can chose from over more than 1000 bonecrunching moves, you will be able to stand with 9 players at the same time in the ring. There will always be a ref in the ring and you can distract him when your partner is getting pinned or so he can do an illegal move. Moves from the Rock Bottem to the Stone Cold Stunner. You will be able to fight outsinde of the arena or in the crowd.

3.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, but could have been better..., November 30, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: WWE: Smackdown! Just Bring It! (Video Game)
Reading the early reviews of this game, I got angry at all the negativity surrounding it. I loved the first Smackdown games, and figured the next generation on PS2 HAD to be fabulous...but now that I've had the game and played it for awhile, I can see where they were coming from.

First off, the game is graphically beautiful...the only exception perhaps being the 2-D crowd, which looks pretty silly when your character goes into the crowd to fight. Entrances are true to what you see on TV, and the music & videos on the TitanTron are fabulous. The create-a-wrestler mode is big, with tons of options, even some you need to unlock. There are dozens of game modes including Royal Rumble, which can now handle around 8 in the ring at the same time, and Hell in a Cell with tag-teams, fatal 4-ways and even a 6-pack type match...it rocks to climb to the top of the ring and fight or jump off, and pancaking Tazz through the top of the cage was awesome!!! The many other modes are great, and will provide variety in gameplay.

The Story mode is the 'main' part of the game...you pick a character and guide them through to the title. Trouble is, the title is usually only 2-3 matches away...too short. A career/season mode would do better. You can walk around the arena at certain times, but this is generally pretty pointless as you usually are just looking for a tag team partner, and once you find one, nobody else is around the building, giving you nothing interesting to do.

Controls are not that great, as trying to find a specific opponent can be rough. You can attack your partner or the ref, and you will frequently do this accidentally during a match because you can't quite tell who you just scrolled to. In matches where you have multiple opponents, this can cost you the match as you could get squashed by your true opponent while trying to find another. Personally, I often find myself launching a simple kick or punch when I think I'm close enough, then wind up missing altogether and getting nailed...perhaps it's a perception problem on my part, but this adds to the frustration factor.

Commentating from Tazz & Michael Cole is ok...repetitive and pointless often, "(Fill-in-the-wrestler's name)...is different from other superstars" and other pieced-together phrases don't make much sense, but I learned to ignore the commentators after awhile (ps - Tazz does commentary for his own matches).

Overall, this game entertained me, but won't have the shelf life it could/should have. The create & exhibition modes somewhat make up for a lackluster Story mode, but you can only have so many meaningless exhibition matches...good for multiplayer games, as a one-player will wind up collecting dust after a few weeks.

5.0 out of 5 stars The greatest game Yet on the ps2, November 15, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE: Smackdown! Just Bring It! (Video Game)
This game is so good. Think about the actual show and you are controlling it. The story mode is the best. You can walk around backstage and talk to other wrestlers for help, advice, etc. The entrances are the best you will probaly ever see in a long time. The undertaker goes on his motorcycle, the rock lifts his hand while on the turnbuckle, Triple h really drinks his water and spits it out and much more w/ different wrestlers.there can be nine wrestlers at a time in a ring! I hope you play this game and try it out. you wont even regret it if you buy it! ! ! !

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hardcore Wrestling Game, July 8, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE: Smackdown! Just Bring It! (Video Game)
This game is tight. A must play!!! WWF Smackdown:Just Bring It! is a HARDCORE wrestling game, perfect for a wrestling fan. If I were to rate it on percentage, it would be 94%. This game has everything. TLC matches, Hardcore, Royal Rumble, King of the Ring, Steet fight, I Quit, etc. The Create a Wrestler is excellent and has so many different types of items to choose from plus your own taunts(5),entrance moves, music, movie ,and thousands of moves with 2 specials. It also has create a stable(so you can make your own teams) and create a taunt. The story mode is cool but is short. It is not constant like Smackdown 2. Plus the wrestlers are well detailed. This game is just plain out cool and fun. The reason I gave it 94% instead of 100% is that there are only a little things that should be fixed. The graphics could be better and there are some wrestlers missing that cant be unlocked as secret wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, K-Kwik, Brock Lesner, and girls like Stacy Kiebler, Torrie Wilson and Terri. But the game has superstars like Triple H, The Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, Rhyno, Jerry Lynn, Spike Dudley, Tajiri, Trish Stratus, Lita, etc. One thing I really like is that you could have up to 8 wrestlers at a time in the ring like an 8-man survival match or like a Royal Rumble match. It gets so crazy and intense that if you do a move off the top rope, you at least knock down 3 or 4 people. If I could tell the people at THQ a couple of new things for Smackdown 4(if there ever will be one), it would be a little better graphics, more wrestlers, longer story modes, more creative matches(First blood, Bra & Panties, gauntlet, casket, etc.), and create a belt. But besides those little bad things, this game is one of the best wrestling games I've ever played in my life. Better than Wrestlemania 18 and WWF Raw. I cant wait till' Smackdown 4. Its gonna be crazy and better than this one.-PEACE-
