3.0 out of 5 stars wwe summerslam 2003 is an okay ppv, December 24, 2005
This review is from: WWE SummerSlam 2003 (DVD)
110-93%-perfect
92-85%-awsome
84-75%-good
74-65%-poor
64-55%-awful

1.The dudleys vs. La Resistance for the world tag team titles- This was a good choice for an opener. I always like the idea of tag team matches for an opener. It was well paced not to long and not to short. It helped because the crowd was really into this and la Resistance got booed. Winners and still world tag team champs La Resistance. Match Rating 7/10

2. Undertaker vs. The A-train- I dont know what they were thinking putting the undertaker in a match with the undertaker. #1 it is summerslam which is the second biggest ppv of the year. Also the a- train is not in the undertakers league in wrestling. Even with all of that said an okay match. Better than i expected. Winner Undertaker. Match Rating 5/10

3. Shane McMahon vs. Eric Bishoff- I was hoping to get a little more out of this match up. Once they made the no dq rule i was really looking foward to see what was going to be done. They did not use the no dq rule much at all. I think it was good that the crowd was into it but it could have been better. There is a sweet table spot in this match. Winner Shane McMahon. Match Rating 7/10

4. Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Beniot vs. Rhyno vs. Tajiri for the US title- This was a really good match. It was the second best of the night in my opinion. It was non stop action and I think that wwe could have used rhyno and tajiri alot better than they did. All of the men put alot into the match and gave it there best effort. Match Rating 9/10. Winner and still us champ eddie Guerrero.

5. Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesner for the WWE title- The best match of the night by far. These 2 put on another on another classic. Not as good as there wrestlemania battle but still very good. This was the match that kept u on the edge of your seat. Even angle got a nice pop as a face. There is 2 nice chair spots used here. At one point i thought that lesner was going to take the title back from angle. Very Good Match. Match Rating 10/10. Winner and still wwe champ Kurt Angle.

6. Kane vs. Rob Van Dam in a no dq match- This was another match that i was looking foward to when they added the no dq but i felt it did not live up to its hype. I think there were not alot of itmes used but there was a few nice chair shots. OIverall an okay match. Winner Kane. Match Rating 6/10

7. HHH vs. Randy Orton vs. shawn Michales vs. Kevin Nash vs. Goldberg vs. Y2J in an elimination Chamber for the world heavy Wieght Title- This is a really hard match to rate. I thought it was preatty good because it was my first chamber match that i watched. It was called the worst chamber match out of all 3. There are some nice spots in this match and it is good to see goldberg back. Winner and still world heavywieght champ HHH. Match Rating 8/10.

WEll that is my review. I thought summerslam had some good parts and quite a few bad ones. The rating is a 75% which = a good ppv but only by one percent. I would try to find it under $20. I would like it if you dont mind to tell me if my reviwe was good or not. You can also check out my other ones vengence 2005, Unforgiven 2005,wrestlemania xx, and tboo tusday 2005. Thank you for your time.

Elimination Chamber for the World Heavyweight Champoinship Triple H wins-Y2J and Sahwn Michaels start, then Orton, then Nash enter.Nash is eliminated by Jericho.Triple H's chamber is open, but HBK hits a superkick on HHH.Goldberg then enters to eliminate Orton,Jericho,&Michaels.Ric Flair locks HHH in a chamber from Goldberg, but he breaks it.Then Flair gives HHH a sledgehammer to win,and it worked.Evolution beat up Goldberg afterward.9/10

3.0 out of 5 stars Some great, many not so great..., January 1, 2007
This review is from: WWE SummerSlam 2003 (DVD)
I have been a wrestling fan since 1996 and have watched all kinds of wrestling. I have a wrestling DVD/VHS collection spanning over 50 all together. This is the most complete and accurate review of this DVD you will find. I hope you find this review helpful; remember to vote helpful or not helpful. (Note-Each DVD I review has a "Match of the DVD" award somewhere in it.)

WWE Summerslam 2003
This Summerslam featured the second Elimination Chamber match. The rest of the card for the night was either average to good. I did not like the staging or lighting as it made the Elimination Chamber look bright and less demonic. There are no extras on this DVD, which is a huge let down. The theme song is St. Anger by Metallic.

World Tag Team Championships
La Résistance(c) VS Dudley Boyz
A basic tag team match that the crowd was into due to the USA VS France concept. The screw job ending was missed by the cameraman, which brings down the score.
RATING- 7/10

Undertaker VS A-Train
Undertaker commonly does well against bigger men and this is no exception. Undertaker and A-Train put on a decent big man's contest. I like the ending and the aftermath.
RATING- 6.5/10

Shane McMahon VS Eric Bischoff
Shane McMahon beats the crap out of Bischoff for the entire first half of the match. It is fairly entertaining. Then, Bischoff's back-up plan shows up. The match becomes more of a segment after that. Austin makes an appearance and raises some hell before leaving. Funny segment, but less of a match then it was supposed to be.
RATING- 7/10

Fatal Four-Way- United States Championship
Eddie Guerrero(c) VS Chris Benoit VS Rhyno VS Tajiri
This is an amazing Fatal Four-Way match. Each man plays an equal part in making this match great. Even Tajiri pulls off some amazing moves. Eddie is doing his Lie, Cheat, and Steal routine and gets the crowd going with it. Tajiri even hits Benoit with an awesome German Suplex.
RATING- 8.5/10

WWE Championship (Match of the DVD)
Kurt Angle(c) VS Brock Lesnar
Kurt Angle won the title in a Triple Threat at WWE Vengeance 2003. Brock Lesnar is now the hunter and is looking to regain the WWE Title. Brock has returned to his psychotic ways. This is much better than their WWE WrestleMania XIX match is. Brock has a power advantage on Angle, but for the most part they are set as equals. Vince McMahon makes an appearance in this great match.
RATING- 9/10

Rob Van Dam VS Kane
This is a glorified squash match. Rob Van Dam gets a good amount of offence to show that the new unmasked Kane can take punishment. Nice finish, but nothing you will watch again.
RATING- 6.5/10

Elimination Chamber- World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H(c) VS Randy Orton VS Chris Jericho VS Goldberg VS Shawn Michaels VS Kevin Nash
I hate a lot of this match. Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels start it off. They do some technical wrestling that the crowd does not seem to care about at all. The crowd only cares about Goldberg. The match does not really pick up until Kevin Nash comes in and uses the Chamber on his opponents. Nash is eliminated quickly though and the match is boring again. Not until Goldberg enters the match does it get really entertaining. I'm not even a Goldberg fan, but he made the match past horrible.
RATING- 6.5/10
