Elimination Match: John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin, Finlay vs. The Miz, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger - As the commentators would point out in the commentary, this is the "future of the WWE" in this match with all of those young guns involved. This had some moments I didn't care like the quick eliminations & Shelton Benjamin's time (or lack thereof) in the match but definately had it's share of highlights like Drew McIntyre's piledriver that just spiked Evan Bourne, the always underrated Matt Hardy being the workhorse that the fans know he's capable of being, the referee being a victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and John Morrison putting up one hell of a fight in the end. Definately a good way to open the show but it was quite of sight seeing the sole survivors just knowing that within the coming weeks, all of them would win championships.

Right around here was a backstage skit with Kofi Kingston's team where Christian (as usual) was the highlight because he was so "different" than everyone else.

Batista vs. Rey Mysterio - It should be noted that eventhough Batista came into this match as a heel for the first time since his Evolution days, he was cheered with this PPV being held in his hometown. Mysterio tried to use his speed here (including trying an old Eddie Guerrero move that the crowd booed) but kept getting caught by Dave who used his power to inflict punishment & just punish Mysterio thoughout the match to the point where it had to be stopped after 3 Batista Bombs. This was one of those "put a storyline over" matches as it heavily established the new Batista as he was more focused on embarrising & hurting Mysterio than just getting a win.

Elimination Match: Kofi Kingston, M.V.P.

WWE followed up last year's horrendous Survivor Series with a slightly better effort in 2009. Aside from one horrendous match, the card was mostly fine, but only one match was close to being anything special. Very forgettable show overall, but they did at least try to create some new stars and put over some young talent. The crowd was also dead for most of the night, which really hurt the show in some areas. Matches are rated out of 5 stars (*****).

1. Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team Miz (Miz, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Dolph Ziggler, & Jack Swagger)
vs.
Team Morrison (John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Finlay, & Shelton Benjamin)

Decent Opener, but nothing special. It started off pretty hot with Evan Bourne working with Swagger and Ziggler, but once all three were eliminated they almost completely lost the crowd and nothing special happened. It came down to Morrison against McIntyre, Sheamus, and Miz, and he was defeated, so at least WWE threw some weight behind a few of their young and upcoming stars. **1/4

2. Batista vs. Rey Mysterio
Very short match. Mysterio started off with his usual flurries of offense but after only a couple minutes Batista took control and utterly decimated him. Crowd, interestingly enough, was almost 100 percent behind Batista as he powerbombed Rey 3 times and won via stoppage. After the match, amidst chants of "one more time," Big Dave gave Rey a spinebuster on a steel chair. *1/2

3. Traditional Survivor Series Match
Team Kingston (Kofi Kingston, MVP, Mark Henry, R-Truth, & Christian)
vs.
Team Orton (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase, William Regal, & CM Punk)

Good match.

Granted it's predictable and luckluster but it's still a good card. The wrestling is top-notch mainly Team Kingston vs. Team Orton. The only bad match was Rey Mysterio vs. Batisa mainly beacuse it was too short for a gruge match. The action in the HHH-HBK-John Cena match was fun and exciting mainly beacuse of HBK's superkick to HHH in the first 5 seconds of the match. Wrestling-wise,it was great and storyline-wise,it was ok.I give this event a 8 out of the 10.

John Morrison, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Shelton Benjamin, Finlay vs. The Miz, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger: Hard to belive this showcased the future of WWE at one point. Bourne puts on a clinic in the minutes he's into the match. I hope he'd return soon to face Ziggler, what a great match up. Anyways, it started strong but it dragged towards the end. Still, a good opener.

Batista VS Rey Mysterio: This was a typical Mysterio big man match. Batista knocks him out after 3 power bombs and the ref calls it. Not bad but like I said, typical.

Kofi Kingston, M.V.P., Mark Henry, R-Truth, Christian vs. Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes, C.M. Punk, William Regal: Not a bad match but nothing memorable. Punk shows what a future force he'll become & Kingston looked to become a force but nothing has yet to come out of that.

World Champion Undertaker VS Big Show VS Chris Jericho: I like the concept behind this match, something fresh. Anyways, the match went as planned. Not bad but not great.

Mickie James, Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Melina, Gail Kim vs. Michelle McCool, Jillian Hall, Beth Phoenix, Layla, Alicia Fox: I usually skip out on the diva's matches but I wanted to see this for some reason. Just like every match on the card. It wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either.

WWE Champion Superman (AKA John Cena) VS Shawn Michaels VS Triple H: HBK takes out partner Triple H with a super kick as the bell rings. They have a near five minute good little match. Then Triple H hits a spine buster on HBK & he is taken out for awhile. It was a good match with the usual Cena win.

Overall, not a bad card. The opener was good for about ten minutes then dragged out. The rest of the card was decent but nothing i'd call great. Main event was good but had a typical ending. I give it a thumbs in the middle.
