4.0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best PPV Since The Split, January 19, 2006
By
D.P. (California) - See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE)
This review is from: WWE Unforgiven 2002 (DVD)
This was the first PPV I saw live and man, it was a great show & looking back at it now...it still stands the test of time as one of the best WWE PPV's they've had over all they split up RAW & SmackDown.

Un-American's vs. Bubba Dudley, Booker T, Goldust, Kane - A fun six man opener and started to mark the end of the Un-Americans as they would split us the next night after losing the tag titles. It's comedy to see Bubba Ray & Goldust both mock Dusty Rhodes bionic elbow.

I.C. Champion Chris Jericho vs. Ric Flair - This was really the only dud because they were tryin' to put over a storyline for later in the night involving Flair instead of having a good match. This doesn't begin to touch their match the previous month at SummerSlam.

Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero - I remember being at this event & the crowd heavily cheered Eddie Guerrero (we were in L.A. afterall) & booed Edge. Another nice match between these two.

Billy & Chuck vs. 3 Minute Warning - A great tag team match between these two & because of this...Stephanie has to do HLA later in the night (to the cheers of every single male...and some females in the crowd)

World Champion Triple H vs. Rob Van Dam - Another good match between the two as RVD continued to mock HHH to everyone's delight but the ending came when Ric Flair (who HHH insulted before the match for losing earlier) hit RVD with the sledgehammer starting Flair & HHH's on-screen partnership.

Womens Champion Molly Holly vs. Trish Stratus - Again, another match that was quick & nothing really anything special besides Trish winning the belt back.

Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle - There two have never had anything below a five star match & this was no exception. While it's not on the same level their matches at WrestleMania 17 & Royal Rumble '03...it's still a damn near classic match.

There's a segment were Bischoff brings out two girls for the HLA with Stephanie McMahon (one of the girls you will recognize as one of the Miller Lite Cat Fight girls from WM19) but after they started teasing...Bischoff brought out a big huge woman who would later reveal herself as Rikishi & give Bischoff a huge stinkface.

WWE Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Undertaker - People forget about this match since Hell In A Cell happened a month later but this match was the first time that someone actually kicked Brock Lesnar's a**. One hell of a match despite the double DQ ending. Taker threw Lesnar through the set at the end to everyone cheering.

DVD extras include RVD & Benoit commercials, pre & post match interviews, a "WWE Desire" video on Undertaker, and Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero from Heat.

Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Pay Per View!, April 16, 2003
By
Bryan (Simi Valley, CA United States) - See all my reviews
Unforgiven 2002 was an awesome show. From top to bottom, all the matches were great. Here are the matches:1.8-Man Tag-The Un-Americans vs. Booker T, Goldust, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Kane. A very good opener. Also, Kane's first pay per view since Wrestlemania X8. 2.Billy & Chuck vs. Rosey and Jamal. This match was pretty short in my opinion. Also, the outcome wasn't what I hoped. I almost gave this event 4 stars because of this match, but what happened after this concerning Eric Bischoff and Stephanie McMahon made up for it. 3.Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero. Good fast paced action. I'll just tell you that the guy who lost this match at Summerslam didn't lose at Unforgiven. 4.Women's Championship-Trish Stratus vs. Molly Holly(c). Good short womens contest, and you just had to feel so happy for Trish. 5.Intercontinental Championship-Chris Jericho(c) vs. Ric Flair. Jericho outsmarts the Nature Boy, and proves that he's The Dirtiest Player in the Game. 6.Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit. Without a doubt, this match stole the show. Anytime these two get in the ring together it's great. Not the kind of ending you'd expect, though. 7.World HeavyWeight Championship-Triple H(c) vs. Rob Van Dam. A pretty good match, but not what I was expecting. I hoped that Triple H would earn the title here, but he did anything but that. What happened at the end I wouldn't have called in a million years. 8.WWE Championship- Brock Lesnar(c) vs. The Undertaker. This match turned into an all out Street Fight. I was so mad with the ref's decision, but was the the last man standing in the end. The way this pay per view ended was unlike any pay per view I've ever seen. I recommend that you buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Event!, April 22, 2005
This review is from: WWE Unforgiven 2002 (DVD)
Kane, Bubba Ray, Goldust, Booker T vs The Un-Americans
After a flurry of action that featured all eight men brawling with each other, Kane demolished Lance Storm with a chokeslam and got the pinfall!
Winners: Kane, Bubba Ray, Goldust, Booker T

After the match, Stephanie McMahon told Billy and Chuck backstage that they were going to beat Rosey & Jamal that night for the pride of SmackDown!, and not so Stephanie would avoid kissing another chick!

Intercontinental Championship
Chris Jericho vs Ric Flair
Chris Jericho defended his newly-won Intercontinental Championship
for the first time, taking on 16-time World Champion and legend Ric Flair. Although the Nature Boy claims to be the dirtiest player in the game, it was Y2J pulling out the win after making use of an underhanded ploy. Jericho faked a knee injury, then popped to his feet and slipped Flair into the Walls of Jericho! The surprised referee called for the bell as Flair tapped out!
Winner: Chris Jericho

Backstage, Eric Bischoff told Rosey and Jamal that they are not just representing RAW, they're representing their RAW general manager as well. Rico came in and said that Rosey and Jamal are more than ready to take down Billy and Chuck.

Eddie Guerrero vs Edge
In a rematch of their outing at SummerSlam, Eddie Guerrero pinned
Edge after crashing him to the mat with a powerbomb delivered from the second rope. Eddie helped his cause by grabbing onto Edge's tights to make sure that he wouldn't kick out.
Winner: Eddie Guerrero

Rosey & Jamal vs Billy & Chuck
After an impressive, albeit hard fought, match, Rosey dropped Billy
with a flying Samoan Drop and got the three count before Chuck could rush in for the save! Back in his office, Eric Bischoff gloated over the win by starting up the HLA chant with three lesbians standing nearby!
Winners: Rosey & Jamal

World Heavyweight Championship
Triple H vs Rob Van Dam
RVD seemed to have the match wrapped up. Even though the referee
was out of commission, Mr. Pay-Per-View had momentum on his side. Things looked even brighter when Ric Flair raced into the ring and picked up a sledgehammer that The Game had dropped. Flair sneered and turned to Triple H, but suddenly whirled around and nailed RVD in the chest! Triple H gawked at Flair then cautiously set up Van Dam for the Pedigree! Flair helped the ref to his feet to count the 1-2-3! Flair and Triple H celebrated and left together with the World Heavyweight Championship in tow!
Winner: Triple H

WWE Women's Championship
Trish Stratus vs Molly Holly
Trish countered some of Molly Holly's offense to hit the Stratusfaction,
giving her a third reign with the WWE Women's Championship! Afterwards, Trish could barely express how much winning her third title meant to her.
Winner and New WWE Women's Champion: Trish Stratus

Backstage, Rosey, Jamal, Rico and Eric Bischoff celebrated with several hot girls. Rico asked permission to go out and celebrated, and Bischoff told them all to go out on the town. However, The Bisch pulled two girls aside and told them they could help him out with some HLA later on!

Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle
In perhaps the most unpredictable match of the evening to that
point, Chris Benoit rolled up Kurt Angle and propped his feet up on the ropes for leverage to get the pinfall! Angle couldn't believe it, seeing as how he had Benoit wrapped up in the ankle lock just seconds before!
Winner: Chris Benoit

Brock Lesnar told Marc Loyd backstage that he's not sorry for intimidating the Undertaker's wife, and he had no problem with what he was going to do to the Undertaker that night!

RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff strolled down to the ring with a lesbian on each arm. Stephanie McMahon soon joined them in the ring and Bischoff began by telling the lesbians to lose some of their restrictive clothing. Stephanie looked less than excited when the girls removed her jacket and gave her a full body massage. Just as the girls were about to get their HLA on, Bischoff stopped and sent the two lesbians backstage. Bischoff explained that he wanted this to be the most humiliating experience of her life. Bischoff brought out one ugly-looking, fat lady, who Stephanie immediately grabbed and began kissing! Without warning, the lesbian dropped Bischoff with a kick and tugged at her face! A plastic mask gave way to Rikishi's face! Seconds later, Bischoff found himself getting the longest Stink Face ever seen!

The Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar
The match between the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar was heated throughout. Both Superstars beat each other bloody and the match turned into an all-out brawl. When the referee tried to separate the two in the corner, Brock's anger took over as he pushed Taker away and pushed the ref into the corner to intimidate him. Unable to control the match, the ref had no choice but to call for the bell and rule the match a draw!
DRAW

But that didn't stop Brock and Taker from finishing what they started earlier in the night. The Superstars traded more shots with each other and didn't finish until Dead Man Inc. tossed the Champion through the Unforgiven sign up on the stage!
