5.0 out of 5 stars Best WrestleMania--- Ever!, April 15, 2003
By
J. Inman (Lodi, California United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: WWE Wrestlemania XIX (DVD)
This was a very solid show. There were fireworks in the beginning. I was there.

Cruiserweight Championship:
Matt Hardy V.1(Champion) w/ Shannon Moore vs. Rey Mysterio
This match was surprisingly short, but good. Shannon Moore carried the entire affair. ***

Undertaker vs. A-Train and Big Show
Not as horrible, horrible, waste of time as I suspected. Nathan Jones kicked Big Show, and all was made right. Undertaker really put A-Train in his place. ***

Women's Championship:
Victoria (Champion) w/ Steven Richards vs. Trish Stratus vs. Jazz
This match, while not stratusfying, was the best women's match I've seen. Disappointing ending, but what're you gonna do (not let Felina debut, that's for darned sure). Steven bops himself on the head. ****

WWE Tag Team Championship:
Team Angle (Champions) vs. Los Guerreros vs. Chris Benoit & Rhyno
Thank God for you, Team Angle. You do NOT suck. Neither does Eddie and Chavo's new entrance video. ***1/2

"HBK" Shawn Michaels vs. "Y2J" Chris Jericho
Best match of the night. A Macho Man vs. Ricky Steamboat, if ever there was one, aside from the original. For this not to be nominated for match of the year would be sodomy, plain and simple. *****

Limp Bizkit Concert ***

Catfight: Torrie Wilson vs. Stacy Keibler vs. Catfight Girls
Very entertaining until screwjob ending. **** (for entertainment and sheer technical mastery)

World Championship:
Triple H (Champion) w/ Ric Flair vs. Booker T
Good match, but with a pace similar to something out of WrestleMania 6 or 7. Cool Houston Hangover, but not much following except a pedigree. ***

Street Fight:
Vince McMahon vs. Hulk Hogan
Much better than anticipated, with some cool high spots and excellent geriatric bumps. Roddy Piper shocked the world by making his triumphant return, only to bop Hogan on the head. ****1/2

The Rock vs. Stone Cold
Better than WreslteMania XV, not as good as X-7. Stone Cold was clearly mentally and physically, well, not there. Surprising ending that seemed rather anti-climactic. ****

WWE Championship:
Kurt Angle (Champion) vs. Brock Lesnar
Very good match (considering the champ had a broken neck) with some excellent spots. Brock misses a shooting star press and bops himself on the head. ****1/2

In conclusion, it was the best WrestleMania in years, with many celebrities, many surprises, and many people getting bopped on the head.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wrestlemania 19....a classic, November 21, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWE Wrestlemania XIX (DVD)
1. Cruiserweight Title: Rey Mysterio vs. Matt Hardy: A good match with some nice high-flying moves. The only problem was that it was too short and the match finished with Matt using the ropes on a roll-up. Rey should've won considering it was wrestlemania. 8/10

2. Undertaker vs. Big Show & A-Train: A good batlle of big men Undertaker should've been in a bigger match but it was still good. Taker was still dominant even though he was facing two bigger men. Limp Bizkit sings Taker out to the ring with "Rollin". 8.5/10

3. Womens Title Triple Threat: Trish vs. Lita vs. Jazz: One of very few womens matches I actually take intrest in. If WWE was all women, this would be a classic match. In actuall rating, its about as good as the opener. Trish wins via chick kick. 7/10

4. WWE Tag Team Title: Team Angle vs. Los Gurreros vs. Rhyno & Benoit: A good tag match with some great talent in it. I think it could've been better but it was still good. The ending was great, with several finishers. 8.5/10

5. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho: Match of The Night!!!!! A classic match with amazing athletisism. Michaels and Jericho have great chemistry. Awe-Inspiring. Tons of near falls and finishers. If you buy this DVD, then this match will be a great gain. 10/10

6. World Title: Triple H vs. Booker T: A good match to say the least. Some really cool moves. When Booker is in control, the match is more entetaining. Except for the part when HHH does the indian death lock which is suprising. 9/10

7. Street Fight: Hulk Hogan vs. Vince McMahon: A shockingly bloody match in which if Hulkster loses, he leaves wwe. The two beat each other with chairs until they are both bleeding. Then, Vince does a huge leg drop off a ladder through the announce table on hogan. Hogan has the match won but Piper makes a surprise appearance and hits Hogan with a led pipe. Hogan still wins though. Bloody match. 10/10

8. The Rock vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin: Not as good as their Wrestlemania 17 match but better than their Wrestlemania 15 match. Austin's last match. A great match to say the least i guess. Lots of finishers and several near falls. 9/10

9. WWE title: Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle: Great match. Main event worthy. The two greatest athletes in wwe beat the hell out of each other. Both of them get injuries. Brock almost kills himself because he tries a Shooting Star Press and lands on his head! Great match. Brock wins. 9.5/10

Extras include the entire Wrestlemania 3rd degree program, the press conference in New York and the one in Seattle, th world tag team title match Kane & Rvd vs. Cheif Morley & Lance Storm from HEAT, Post Match Interviews, 10 Wrestlemania Retros where superstars talk about their favorote moments, Wrestlemaina Features, Comments on Hogan vs. McMahon, two commercials one titled "Image Spot" and the other "4 Main Events"!, the three catfight girl commercials, the mcmahon training promos, and the entire segment where goldberg made his debut the following night!
