It's more Raw, Baby!,
By A Customer
This review is from: WWF: Best of Raw, Vol. 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The Best of Raw, Vol. 2 is the second tape of the Best od Raw series. Best of Raw, Vol. 1 was centered around the end of 1997 through the end of 1998. Volume 2 picks up where it left off, at the end of '98 and continues through the end of '99. This was one of the best eras of wrestling ever. Here are some of the highlights on the tape:Mankind feuds with The Rock, eventually leading to his first title reign. They fight back and forth for a few months. The Corporation, led by Vince and Shane McMahon, was on a path of destruction at the time. It shows many events surrounding them as a dominant stable and all the chaos they stirred leading into the Royal Rumble '99, all the way through Backlash. The Undertaker led his Ministry of Darkness through any and all roadblocks, including a huge feud with the Corporation. The Undertaker was determined to take over the WWF, and he almost did. He abducted Stephanie McMahon, which led Vince to stay at her side and protect her. Because of this, he couldn't be involved in Corporation's business. This led to a match between Vince and Shane on Raw. Vince won, but all was not settled. In fact, it was just getting interesting. Shane soon joined the Undertaker. With both the Corpoation and the Ministry of Darkness, the Corporate Ministry was formed. They caused more chaos than anyone expected, which led to a shocking surprise. The Undertaker and his Ministry worshiped what they called a Higher Power. Well, one night on Raw, that man was shown to the world. It was none other than Vince, himself. Everything was now back in the hands of Vince, or so we thought. After the "Higher Power" was shown to the world, Vince and Shane's world came crumbling down....fast. Linda McMahon had resigned as CEO of the WWF. Well, she had to appoint a new one in her place. She picked none other than Stone Cold to take over as CEO. Through the next few weeks, everything got more interesting, leading to a huge ladder match. Watch the movie to see exactly what happened. The Rock 'n Sock Connection was formed that year as well, between The Rock and Mankind. This team made the WWF fun to watch. They also made one of the funniest segments in the history of Raw. You'll have to check it out. Triple H was rising to the top very fast. You'll see his transformation from the leader of DX to a monster, which no one could stop, which brought him the WWF Title. D-Generation X was also reformed. Triple H, X-Pac, Road Dogg, and B.A. Billy Gunn reformed a heel DX and took over the federation with the help of Vince. They battled through the federation until they were on top, again. Chyna and Mark Henry also had a very funny relationship, which led to a date between the two, but also led to a heartbroken Mark Henry. "Y2J" Chris Jericho made his debut on August 9, 1999 after the mysterious "Millenium Clock" struck zero. It was one of the most memorable moments in Raw history. However, when you interupt The Rock, you get what's coming to you, which he learned very quickly. It's all here on the Best of Raw, Vol. 2. This is a must have for all WWF fans.

Best of RAW volume 2....Rock and Sock...Jericho debuts!,
This review is from: WWF: Best of Raw, Vol. 2 [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This retrospect does a good job of giving great highlights and parts of matches that took place between survivor series 98 and armageddon 99. My favorite parts included the corporate rumble, foley winning the wwf title for the first time, jericho's classic debut in chicago, and of course my personal all time favorite raw moment...AUSTIN DRIVES BEER TRUCK TO RING. I highly recommend this show for any wrestling fan. This particular volume properly captures all the moments which happened in the greatest era in professional wrestling: The attitude era. if you dont own this, shame on you!

I have been a huge fan of the WWF for years. Since the early 90's Monday Night RAW has been a mainstay on cable television. It's not until recently that the WWF has started to make Best of RAW tapes. Putting the company's biggest years on some great videos. Best of RAW volume 1 was great. I am a big fan of the production value that the WWF uses when presenting their product. Part 2 picks up right where 1 left off. You will see slickly edited segments between The Rock and Steve Austin, you will relive the the debut of Y2J Chris Jericho. Mankind winning his first WWF title and Triple H's dramitic rise to become the top heel in the industry. This tape is 2 hours of some of the greatest moments in the history of RAW. If you are a fan of the Superstars on Monday Night you will want to own this awesome video.

I just purchased this video today at suncoast and it has its ups and downs. The main reason i got this is because there is stuff on this tape that you won't find anywhere else, even on wwf videos. The highlights are clearly "Mankind Vs The Rock" in Dec 98 in which mankind wins his first ever wwf title(with a little help from stone cold) you can't find this match anywhere and the crowd goes absolutely nuts when austins music hits. Other highlights include HHH's first wwf title win, hilarious vootage of Vince being trained by shane, and the beginning of the mcmahon helmsley era. the rest of the video tends to show the worst of raw, which includes a date with mark henry and china. However this video is a good value for under 15 bucks. its about 2 hours and at least 45 minutes of it is really good. If you want to see hunter and mick win their first ever wwf titles then get this video, it is well worth it.

LEAVES NO STONE UNTURNED.........ALMOST,

Well, I just purchased 'Best Of Raw Volume 2' last week and I must say, the producers did an exceptional job of covering mostly every aspect & storyline within the 1998-99 season. The ongoing feud between 'The Corporation' and 'The Ministry is contained here, as well Chris Jericho's debut, kidnapping of Stephanie McMahon, The Rock's slow rise to stardom as well as his surprise birthday bash thrown by Mankind etc. However, a couple of elements were left out which I feel I must touch base on. First and foremost. The show's biggest ratings that season were provided by the hype surrounding Stephanie McMahon and Test's wedding. However, that wedding never did take place but nonetheless it did earn RAW IS WAR incredible ratings. The producers failed to show this storyline on this tape. Secondly, the tag-team of X-Pac and Kane was a big thing which failed to make the final cut. Especially considering the fact that Kane said his first words ever. But aside from these two minor details, the tape is absolutely excellent and if you are looking to flashback to a few years ago, you can't go wrong with this tape.
