4.0 out of 5 stars The Phenom at his best!
The matches:

Undertaker vs. Mankind - Boiler Room Brawl (from SUMMERSLAM 1996)
Great match with two men beating the hell out of each other in a boiler room for minutes. The only thing more shocking that the ferocity these combatants unleashed upon each other is the betrayal...

3.0 out of 5 stars video was alright
I felt the video was ok, though they should of put more of his earlier matches with the ultimate warrior, and when he first entered in the wwf during survivor series. Also the music is great.I will like to know the musical during the badd blood match when the cell was being made. who ever knows the musical please e-mail me at sotoeddie@hotmail.com.

This review is from: WWF: Undertaker - The Phenom [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The matches:
*Note - These are just highlight reels, not the full matches.
-----------------

Undertaker vs. Mankind - Boiler Room Brawl (from SUMMERSLAM 1996)
Great match with two men beating the hell out of each other in a boiler room for minutes. The only thing more shocking that the ferocity these combatants unleashed upon each other is the betrayal at the end of the contest. ***1/2

Undertaker vs. Mankind - Buried Alive Match (from IYH: BURIED ALIVE 1996)
Another good match by both men, with shovels, steel chairs and steps used to hurt each other. ***1/2

Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels - Hell in a Cell (from IYH: BADD BLOOD 1997)
Fantastic match, where HBK and the Lord Of Darkness took brutality to another level. This well-remembered match also features the first ever appearance of the Undertaker's long-lost brother Kane. *****

Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels - Casket Match (from ROYAL RUMBLE 1998)
Once again a good match from two great competitors. Kane, who we all thought came out to help the Undertaker, actually attacked him. He and Paul Bearer then did one of the most shocking things ever done in WWF History. ***1/2

Undertaker vs. Kane (from WRESTLEMANIA XIV)
The two brothers met one-on-one for the very first time ever in this match. Kane wanted to destroy the Undertaker, and his fury was unleashed in this classic match. **1/2

Undertaker vs. Kane - Inferno Match (from IYH: UNFORGIVEN 1998)
Perhaps one of the most dangerous matches in the WWF happened in April 1998. This was probably thhe only way for these two brothers to settle their rivalry once, and for all. **1/2

Undertaker vs. Mankind - Hell in a Cell (from KING OF THE RING 1998)
Again, a very dangerous match was one of the only ways to finish their feud, the most hellacious structure ever devised. This is probably, or if not, definately, the most brutal and talked about match in wrestling history. The falls and bumps that Mankind takes are truly unbelievable. *****

Undertaker vs. Stone Cold (from SUMMERSLAM 1998)
Another classic between two fantastic superstars. The match includes one of the most devastating leg-drops in the history of the World Wrestling Federation. ***1/2

Undertaker vs. Kane vs. Stone Cold (from IYH: BREAKDOWN 1998)
Average match from three of the most awesome and destructive forces in the WWF. The only thing different, is the controversy at the end of the match. **1/4

Undertaker vs. Kane (from IYH: JUDGMENT DAY 1998)
The WWF Title was vacant at this time, and it was finally decided in this classic match between the two massive brothers. The Texas Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin was the Special-Guest referee for the contest. **

This is a great video and is a must-have for any true Undertaker fan. I would rate it 8/10.

I really liked this video about the undertaker,it shows his classic battles with mankind.Like the boiler room brawl & the brilliant brutal hell in a cell match at the 1998 king of the ring. Also it shows when kane made his debute at the 1997 badd blood event,The undertaker and kane in all their classic matches the inferno match aswell as the match at wrestlemania 14. I recommend this video for any big undertaker fan so go buy it now if u want,or buy stone colds video, hell yeah! thats wicked!

4.0 out of 5 stars If you don't know the Phenom, see him in great matches!, February 19, 1999
By A Customer
The Undertaker, a great WWF wrestler, gets his own video...finally! Paul Bearer's betrayl, Kane's introduction, battles with DX and Mankind...it's all here! It doesn't show his history or background like the other WWF videos, but I didn't care! It's by far my favorite WWF video next to DX. The direction (different from the TV) has great variety of music and camera angles, showing his career highlights. Basically, it show the important events up to his career in the WWF now. If you don't know him, you obviously haven't been watching WWF! If you do, this is a better way to understand the Phenom greater in the best matches he's ever been in! All these matches show up to now (except with the Ministry of Darkness). It also includes the fabled "Hell in a Cell" with Mankind.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty damn good, September 3, 1999
By A Customer
This is pretty good video. But, it doesn't have him fighting HHH or Rocky Maivia like it does on the back of the cover. And the special interview that shows us a side of The Undertaker that we've never seen? Where was that? Obivously, something that we never will see obviously. Other than that, it's pretty good. But, they should've focused on his World Championship reing in 1997 aswell.

Or they should of also showed clips from his match with Stone Cold as "A Cold Day in Hell"

The Undertaker is the most talented WWF superstar I have ever seen, and I've been watching it for a long time. It leads you through The Undertakers battles with, Mankind, Kane and many more. I also reccomend, 'The Undertaker, He Buries Them Alive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Captures the best matches of The Lord of Darkness, June 27, 1999
By A Customer
A frightening view of the Man from the Dark Side. From his epic Buried Alive, Boiler Room Brawl, and Hell in a Cell matches with the deranged Mankind, to his feud and epic battles with his own brother Kane, to the horrific Royal Rumble 1998 casket disaster, to his pursuit of his third WWF World Heavyweight Title reign, this video shows it all. Undertaker: The Phenom has awesome footage of the Hell in a Cell match, where Mankind was thrown from the top of the 16 foot cage through a table, then thrown through the top of the cage to the ring below, to being dropped onto a pile of thumbtacks-this was the greatest match in WWF history. This video is a must have for any true WWF fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars It was a very good video., April 7, 1999
By A Customer
It was an awesome tape! However, I only give 4 stars because there were literally zero interviews with the Undertaker, and the oldest match that is shown is the Boiler Room Brawl w/ Mankind. It doesn't show his debut, his win for the title over Sid at WrestleMania13, or any title defences, including his loss to Bret Hart at Summerslam; Hart & Soul. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even mention that he ever held any title. They show clips from the matches as follows: vs. Mankind; Boiler Room Brawl, vs. Mankind; Buried Alive, vs. Shawn Michaels; Hell in the Cell, vs. Shawn Michaels; Casket Match, vs. Kane at WrestleMania XIV, vs. Kane; Inferno Match, vs. Mankind; Hell in the Cell, vs. Steve Austin; Highway to Hell, vs. Kane & Austin; Triple Threat, & vs. Kane at Judgement Day, in that order. I enjoyed it very much.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not so good video!, December 29, 1998
By A Customer
If you want to know the Undertaker, you should buy this one. But if you have already known him well, you do not have to. For example, this video does not cover some of his very important matches after 1996 such as those with Diesel, Hitman and Sid, etc. Besides, I actually expected his personal interviews, in order to see his real wrestling attitude with his real words he had taken a couple of times before on TV. Further, emphasis on wrestling with Kane is too much for me. Overall, I think the editor of this video did not take time to create. If you respect him, I am sure that you can and have watched his wonderful scenes so many times more on PPV and RAW.

5.0 out of 5 stars WWF's Best Highlight Tape to Date, December 5, 1998
By A Customer
For a wrestling aficianado such as myself, I was incredibly impressed with the production values and content of this video from a company that produces usually dissapointing "superstar" videos. This differed dramatcially from previous WWF products in that it concentrated solely on match highlights of the Undertaker. Video packages such as the quotes from Dante's Infernmo to intro WWF Unforgiven were used to set up each match perfectly. There is no filler here: only the main event/gimmick matches from 1996 through to WWF Judgement Day are included. So you get both Hell in the Cell's *and* his Austin fued matches till October 1998. Glaring omissions include his first ever meeting with Shawn Michales (although all other meetings are covered) and his WWF title reign. Nevertheless this is a must have for any WWF fanatic--an excellent compilation of some of the best matches the WWF, not just the undertaker have put on in the past two years. It stands as the best effort put on by the WWF to capture the feel of the undertaker: his charcter and his in-ring ability.
