5.0 out of 5 stars this game is da bomb
when I first got this game I couldn't stop playing it. I really liked the move menu. I thought the game was easy to figure out. I kept getting better and better at it. I started career mode and that was so cool. the create a character was really fun because I could give my guy the best moves.Any true WWF fan would love this game.

*although I do not own Smackdown yet.

I can never stop playing this game. I got the game two years ago and I still play it a lot. The graphics are so good you can even see the Texas tattoo on Stone Cold's leg. A must buy for diehard wrestling fans, and you'll probably like it even if you're not a wrestling fan. However, with the millions of moves, I suggest getting the strategy guide.

Look for WWF No Mercy, or even Wrestlemania, and you'll get alot more action and perhaps more satisfaction. Looking back at Warzone now, what we thought was an amazing Create-A-Player is considered puny to the ones of No Mercy, or Smackdown. Warzone feels slow, making it look like your wrestler gained about twenty years just hopping into the ring. Warzone, in other words, is just old lame ...(stuff) =o). Go find yourself a real wrestling game, like No Mercy or Smackdown if you are still playing this terrible game called WWF Warzone.

4.0 out of 5 stars BEST WWF GAME BESIDES THE SMACKDOWNS!!, April 7, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: WWF Warzone (Video Game)
This game is awesome with a create wrestler section where you can create your dream wrestler. The moves are easy to memorize with smooth controls. With 16 wrestlers (HBK, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Mankind, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Kane, HHH, Farooq, Rocky, Ahmed Johnson, Golddust, Mosh, Thrasher, etc.) Also the ability to unlock DOA, Dude Love, and Cactus Jack, which I havent unlocked yet. The graphics are great for wrestling. Vince McMahon and JR provide sometimes funny comentary. I've played Smackdown 1 and 2 however, and can ya say MAJOR IMPROVEMENT OVER WARZONE!! But now for the glitches of the game... on the biographies they say the Rock is from the South Pacific, he's really from South Florida. The signature moves are pulled off exactly like real life. Challenge is for me (gulp) really challenging. What [stinks] is that there is no Royal Rumble, table, cell, casket, anywhere fall, and tlc matches like Smackdown 2 really bugs me. The wrestlers say catch phrases while wrestling like Bret Hart saying: pink and black attack is back, rock saying: im gonna lay the smackdown on ya. Those that make me laugh are: Mankind squealing and calling his "mommy". Weapon matches disapoint me cause well since when do fans throw weapons to the wrestlers. Plus you can only use a weapon 1-3 times before you instantly drop it. And there is way too many weapons. It's possible to win in 3 minutes with weapons which in my opinion is plain dead stupid. However the good parts of game are GREAT!! If you dont have this or the Smackdowns buy it. You cant be disappointed

...seem to rate a game by:
If out-of-date
Graphics
et cetera
While some disclude the amount of FUN with it. I can respond to some of these. "Oh, well this is out-of-date!" So? It doesn't bring down fun. Even though I liked Acclaim's WWF games better than THQ's. "The graphics are terrible!" Does it effect your play? Most of the time, the answer is no.

Now with the game. This is my favorite WWF/WWE game. It has LOTS of fun packed in this PSOne CD. Two years before it, there was a WWF: In Your House. This game is much more realistic than that. Really, I bought this new at a store. Now, it's freezing up because of the many scratches on the back! Matches are often long, like the WWE now. There are also MANY moves to learn how to do. I'm STILL learning. I also find the meter with the name good compared to WWF WrestleMania X8 GameCube which no meter. You have to find out when to pin in WMX8 which can be frustrating. Better than it's time, great fun, highly recommended, WWF WarZone PlayStation!

(I am reviewing the N64 version)
This was the first wrestling game i ever had and i t marks the new WWF Attitude era(that in cluded the change of the WWF belts and logo).The game has very little features of match types that include Single,Tag-Team,Weapons(now known as HardCore match),Gauntlet(Same as a Slobber Knocker match exept u can leave the ring),Royal Rumble,Cage-Match(older style).The matches are good but The Cage match is the one that has no ropes in the Ring so when you Irsh wip ure oppenent he/she crashes into the steel wall.The commentary is done by the-now WWE RAW commentator Jim Ross and the WWE ChairMan Vince McMahon jr. and its the best commentary ever and is timed well like if 2 opponents arnt fighting J.R. goes "C`mon guys fight,THIS IS a wrestling nmatch" but in games that are even newwer like WWF SmackDown! 3 and you and ure opponent arnt fighting Cole says things like "This match is great!" tats pathetic.The roster is small and include;
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin
Rocky Mavia(know known as The Rock)
"HeartBreak Kid" Shawn Michaels(as D-Generation X member)
Hunter Hearsley Helmsley(now known as Triple H,also a D-Gen X member
Ahmed Johnson
Goldust
ManKind(Mick Foley)
Ken ShamRock
Mosh&Thrasher as "The HeadBangers"
UnderTaker(Old School attire)
Kane(With long hair and tradeMark Mask)
Trainer(A Made Up superstar that is only a Punching bag)
The British BullDog Davey Boy Smith(R.I.P)
Bret Hart(normal super star version, not LEGEND)
Owen Hart(R.I.P)
Some of these wrestlers are still here 2day(ie Stone Cold,The Rock,Mick Foley,KANE and Taker) other have left(ie Bret Hart,Ken ShamRock and The Head Bangers) and sadly some are dead(Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith) all superstars make screams of pain when locked in submission Goldust sounds like a lady when she,i mean he is being hurted. The Challenge mode are just a pyramid of matches going all the way to the WWF championship,I was not a wrestling fan when i got this game in 1998 with my N64 but i still enjoyed it especially Cage,Tag and Weapon matches.there are BETTER Wrestling games out on this platform like No Mercy. I have had this game since it came out. too many people see this as a bad/old game, but i remember when this first came out...it was revolutionary. this was the ORIGINAL game to use the engine, while attitude was a sequel, and ECW just plain copied it. If you have a choice, though, you should buy it's sequel, attitude.

4.0 out of 5 stars warzone brings fond memories, September 17, 2010

this game I remember being really fun as a kid and I played it all the time. Being able to play it again 12 years later as a grown up bring back fond memmories. Graphics and game play is not as good as it is now day, but is still fun to mash buttons. To hit a finisher is more challeging on this game because you got to fiqure out like mortal combat what to press to do a finisher. As where now days you hit one same button to do every wrestler finisher just in different position. Warzone will always be remember to me for being not only the first wrestling game I played, But a game that usher in the attitude era and led to the standard to later game to bring in the hardcore type of match in to games.

5.0 out of 5 stars a pretty good game, January 3, 2010

for it's time and even now. Yeah it may not be as great as wwf smackdown 2 or wwf no mercy but it is still a fun game to play. the modes are weapons match, cage match, tag match and a singles match in exobition. And there is a hidden ladder match also. There agood amount of characters including hhh, stone cold, owen hart, bret hart mankind, dude love and cactus jack [which are unlockables],ahmed johnson, kane, undertaker, rocky maivia, goldust, bulldog, the headbangers and more.there is also a challenge mode which is where you take one superstar and compete against many other superstars for the gold to unlock stuff. And even though the gameplay may be a little stiff it is still not bad. And if your worried about the controls they have a movelist in the game and they are easy to learn. Overall this a great game with good graphics and gameplay. I definteley would say that you get it. "AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE BECAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO"
