The bad news is that Bam Bam Bigalow and Yokozuna have been removed from the actual arcade version, leaving the number of wrestlers the same as the first Wrestlemania video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. This review is from: WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game (Video Game)
The final wrestling game to grace the SNES took a whole different path than the previous three available. This offers arcade fighting action in and out of the ring. Arcade meaning that you press forward, forward punch to perform a move. There are only six true to life superstars, Bret Hart, the Undertaker, HBK, Razor Ramon, Doink the Clown, and Lex Luger, so you may get bored with frequent matches. There are some incredible animations though, but it does get goofy though, with hit combinations, Lex Lugers arm turning into a mace and other such odd things. There is a Road to Wrestlemania mode for single players, which pits you in singles, two on one and three on one handicap matches. It can get frustrating and tedious to go through those matches. The two player mode only has a huge battle royal mode in which a tag team together tries to defeat 12 wrestlers which come in one after another.

The bad news is that Bam Bam Bigalow and Yokozuna have been removed from the actual arcade version, leaving the number of wrestlers the same as the first Wrestlemania video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Bam Bam would have been the only character in both games. Other than that and the fact that everyone's favorite sexually ambiguous pro-wrestler, Luna Vachon (What? You thought I was gonna say Chyna?), is not included in any version of this game, everything's cool. Well, I'd rather the blood was red instead of blue, but otherwise it's cool. The good news is that you get corny yet pillow-muffled commentary from Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler and action that is faster paced than WWF Raw (not the X-Box version). Each wrestler has his own set of gag moves; Razor Ramon attacks with hands that turn into blades, Doink beats clowny stuff out of his opponents, and Bret Hart... okay, so not everyone has gag moves. The Undertaker and Shawn Michals have nothing special, but Lex Luger attacks with metal arms. I don't know if this happened before or after Mortal Kombat 3, but this does resemble Jax and the two of them both have rude pompous all-American attitudes. Anyway, that's my review and I'm not sticking to it.

As for the phrase in my review title, yes, it was taken from the commercial, and no, I don't know the rest of the words or where to find the commercial.

very easy and i don't think one-on-three is really necessary but it's "arcade" right?

4.0 out of 5 stars The most "upbeat" wrestling game I've played!, December 13, 2001

Isn't it just like Acclaim to incorporate real life humans to portray characters in their games? This trend started in Mortal Kombat and they've outdone themselves with this game by using the actual wrestlers themselves. Mind the term "wrestlers" though, because this game is almost fifty-fifty in wrestling and street brawling! You get to choose from six WWF wrestlers: Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, Doink "The Clown," Lex Luger, and Razor Ramon (aka Scott Hall). This is a bit unfortunate because the Genesis version had them plus Yokozuna and Bam Bam Bigelow. This may cause the game to be a tad repetitive. But once the match starts it's an all-out brawl and the victor will most often be the fastest-thinking, shrewd and button-mashing wrestler rather than people taking a strategic approach. They may find themselves knocked out and pinned in ten seconds!

The graphics and animation are realistic. The music is fair. (I can't say "good" because it doesn't have the wrestlers' theme songs, can I?) The sound effects are nice and the commentators (Vince McMahon and "The King" Jerry Lawler) are great! Memorable comments include McMahon shouting "Boomshakalaka!", "Shocking!" and occasionally, "Somebody call security!". The game also has "special moves" like Doink's "electric hand" and Bret Hart's rolling uppercut. The gameplay is fast and furious. Controls are dead-on. And get this: it has Mortal Kombat-style blocking too!

So, this game might not be the best wrestling game out there. It could use more wrestlers and a few more options. But compared to its predecessors Royal Rumble and WWF Raw, it is quite a bit more addictive. Besides it's good to have some spontaneous wrestling for a change, without memorising the moves. Most any wrestling (especially WWF) fan will derive some serious amusement out of this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars WWF Wrestlemania:The Arcade Game review, July 30, 2010
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game (Video Game)
This game is crazy. In every possible meaning of the word. I mean nothing about this game make sense. Infact I'll bet you anything,in the remotest parts of Southeast Asia, playing this game is considered the number one form of execution. The gameplay is childish & cartoony. Some of the moves in the game you can't do in real life like doing a perfect piledriver on a super-heavy-weight like Yokozuna. The game speed is so fast that you think it was high on sugar. When a wrestler punches another wrestlers, stuff comes out of that guy like when you punch Yokozuna so many times fishes fly out of his pants. All the wrestlers fly so high you think they were on speed or something like that. This makes The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon look sane by comparison. The only GOOD thing about this game is that the wreslters look like the wrestlers in real life but that's still not enough to save this game. I give this "game" a 1 out of 10.

4.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite WWF game on the SNES, March 19, 2005

I love this game, it certainly is not like any other wrestling game. This one is not about pinning anyone or making them submit like wrestling. This was more a new version of Mortal Kombat. The same company ACCLAIM made this game a beat 'em up. However there is no blood and no finishers. You can preform combos, special moves and things like that, it's much the same as Mortal Kombats style of game play. The commentary is not annoying, provided by Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler.

The downfalls are that it did not have Yokozuna or Bam Bam Bigalo like the Arcade,PC, Sega version's for some reason. But it honestly had a lasting quality over the rest for me untill I found the PC version.

It's still a great game, but you might want the PC version for better graphics and extra wrestlers.

There has been complaints about glitches in this game, but I loved the glitches. I thought they where cool to hear odd sounds, weird effects, doing monovours without your oponent actualy being in it! Dont let the fact that 2 wrestlers wernt included, this game was super fun if you gave it a go.

1.0 out of 5 stars no Yoko and Bam Bam, February 2, 2004
By
This review is from: WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game (Video Game)
The fact that those two wrestlers aren't in this version of WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game is reason enough to avoid it. Yoko Zuna is a big guy with very powerful moves, and Bam Bam is yet another big guy. It's odd how they didn't include either of the two BIG guys on the Super NES. It's not like this game has a lot of options and wrestlers anyway, so to take away two wrestlers and leave you with only six is just ridiculous. Get the Playstation version.
