Product Description

Azan World War II Knife Bayonet - thick carbon steel and prepared for cutting, stabbing, and survival. If you like WWII stuff, this bayonet reflects all of the heritage you can cherish. It is replicated from the original WWII Garand M1 assault rifle bayonet. The 22 inch carbon steel blade is finished black. The bayonet blade features a blood groove, like one that was used on the battlefield. Since the carbon steel blade is treated with an oxide coating it will resist rust and deterioration. The guard on this knife has been cast from stainless steel and antiqued to match the blade. The shape of the guard is actually symbolic for the bayonet, making it a classic and recognizable by a true WWII collector. The black ABS handle is pinned to the blade with a durable rivet. It has a 5mm thick blade that is very strong and ready for use. This bayonet will ship with an authentically styled sheath that is also uniquely made to match this bayonet. "U. S. " is engraved on the sheath.

I don't own a garand, so I haven't tried it for fit, but it appears to have legitimate dimensional qualities. While I have not done "laboratory tests" on it, it is indeed long and apparently of standard thickness, and it has a feel very much like authentic bayonets that I have known from the WWII era. One thing that I am always unsure about in purchasing an unfamiliar edged implement is the quality of the steel. This one said, "high carbon steel," and that seemed hopeful. My conclusion is that the steel is in fact quite satisfactory. I like the steel in a Ka-Bar knife that I recently purchased somewhat better, but that is chrome-vanadium, very tough and sharp. This one appears to be high carbon steel as stated, and it seems the right hardness for a bayonet, fairly easy to sharpen well but not seeming brittle enough to chip easily. I tested it for hardness against an inexpensive stainless steel pocket knife that I carry, and while the knife will not scratch this bayonet, the bayonet, when sharpened, can cut thin shavings off of the pocket knife. I think it will do just fine.

I ordered this bayonet for my M1 Garand it fits the rifle perfectly nice and a snug fit, the blade was nice and sharp and good sturdy. I noticed where a few people has complained on how its not very sharp or they had to really sharpen it, well these bayonets were not designed to have a razor blade sharp edge on them they were only sharp enough to slash the enemy and for thrusting the blade into their guts. Even though its made in china its a good product and I would recommend it to anyone that collects them for their rifles.

The blade and catch are superb quality and fully functional. Grips are light plastic, but readily available original parts fit perfectly. Scabbard hardware is original-like in design and weight, just made with steel instead of brass, but sheath part is a little light in construction. Price, including shipping, was less than 1/3 that an original Springfield, Rock Island or Union Fork &Hoe M1905 bayonet. Looks great on the belt or mounted on the rifle.

If it weren't for the fact that I cut my finger Open soon after opening it on a broken part it would be ok. first off i tryed to put it on my m1903a3 (1943 marked Remington manufacturer) out of tge box everthing seemed ok quality wise, the blade was semi sharp, the point on this is very sharp as well and seems sturdy it fit well in the sheeth and dementionaly it looked ok. Colors were a bit off but I could look past this(not period color), the blade itself also had a nice coating of oil on it. It got really bad when I tryed to put it on my rifle, it got stuck on the mount and would not engage properly,so naturally I yanked it to get it off and boom there goes the hand stop and my finger slid on the blade but hey at lest it came off right? I'm returning this immediately. If you just want to look at it separately from your rifle it may look OK but I can't recommend putting it on your rifle when it could break and hurt you that easily.I can't recommend. Amazon And The Seller Of This Item Did A Great Job Shipping It. It ARIVED On My Door within 3 days of purchase. Didn't want to be sour but with a deep cut finger and it in 2 pieces maybe I just got a lemon.

If you buy this for display on a shelf it's ok, but it will not fit on an M-1 Garand Rifle. They offered to refund my money but I'll keep it for display on a shelf. I'll look elsewhere for a functioning bayonet.
Tried a second one and it fits just like the original. I'm happy with this one. I guess being made in China makes it a hit and miss. I should have sent the first one back for exchange. Give them a try and if it doesn't fit just send it back and try again. Great price.

A fine example of a new reproduction the accurately captures the construction and detail of the very pricey original bayonet.

First of all, this is a REPLICA, which is pretty clearly stated. And, it is only $27 which is much much less than the real thing, which can go for $300 or more. The Armory Replica's piece is meant to represent a Springfield 1905 16" bayonet, which was one of several bayonets used in WW2 on the M1 Garand rifle. The blade itself is good quality steel and actually comes honed to a fairly sharp edge for both a replica and a real bayonet, which were usually fairly dull. The finish is a glossy black (paint?) which looks good and is very smooth (and lightly oiled to prevent rust). A detraction is the bright white "CHINA STAINLESS" tampo printed on the side of the blade. This can be painted over with a gloss black paint marker, though. The grips are black plastic and look ok but have a cheap and thin feel. You should be able to get some better or original grips to replace these. The bayonet fits easily on my M1 Garand with no modification. The locking mechanism isnt the best, but I bought the replica for display only. The included scabbard is "fair". The originals were canvas and by WW2 pressed fiber but this one is glossy, smooth, olive colored, ABS plastic. Durable; yes. Reaistic; no. The steel top cuff has a nice Army exploding bomb emblem. I think the originals had brass fittings. I will probably try to lightly sand the ABS to cut the gloss. Not the best replica bayonet I have ever had, but not the worst. The metal is actually better than expected and really only the plastic parts are a letdown. Given that many quality replicas can be $75 or more, this one really is not bad for the money .
