The photographs are exclusive never-to-be duplicated images as Stephen R. Brown had access to the site and cranes as the Memorial was built. This book is excellent!! The photography is incredible. The construction of the memorial is well documented at the end of the book, and is very interesting reading. The book consists primarily of photographs but with excellent captions. The photographer did a beautiful job of showing the beauty of this memorial, and I think all WWII vets will be proud to own this book.

I especially like the photographs of this book. I accompanied South Dakota WWII veterans visiting their memorial and this book was as colorful and clear as being there. I liked the background pictures of its construction phases. This book was able to include more pictures of details I did not spend much time gazing at. It made it possible to go back and refresh my memory as the small relief images are just as important as the larger parts of the memorial.

Having Bob Dole write the introduction was most appropriate as well. He was instrumental in getting this memorial completed and regularly visits veterans groups.

I recommend this book for families of veterans, WWII vets themselves and even history teachers to have in their classroom!

My 84 yr. old Dad is a WWII Navy vet and I have him on the Honor Flight list to be treated to a trip to D.C. to see the memorial. I am going to be a volunteer on the flight. Until his name comes up for the flight, he is enjoying both the picture book as well as the wonderful DVD. What a nice way to honor those who served during this time of trouble for our country.
