I've done a lot of research and I've tried a lot of products. This is it. I have a friend that owns a movie theater and he told me this is what is used. There are slight variations in theaters across the nation but this is the product used. He said they do not use real butter because it melts down the popcorn when it is hot. Real butter also tastes funny, yes, it's true. He said the theater tried it for a month and customers would come back complaining that the butter tasted funny and get a refund. The topping is the way to go.

Trade secret number #2: Flavorcol. You won't get that salty seasoned flavor from this topping alone. Nor from a combination of this topping and salt. Flavorcol is a salt seasoning that is put in the mix while popping. Get it use it.

Oh yeah, there's a 3rd secret too: Use red coconut oil. It's similar to what McDonald's uses. Pay attention to how similar the smell of the nuggets frying and popcorn is. That smell in the movie theater is actually the coconut oil frying.

Never said it was healthy.

This Butter Flavored Popcorn Topping is perfect if you're looking to make popcorn that tastes like what you get at the movie theatre. It is a very large bottle, however, so you better like popcorn a lot if you're thinking about purchasing this product.

First off, I'm not one to leave reviews. Only if a product is extremely good or extremely bad. And as long as I've been an Amazon customer -- going on a decade or so now? -- this is my first review of a product.

I'd like to consider myself a bit of a popcorn connoisseur. I love popcorn, but I'm extremely picky. It's either too stale tasting, not salty enough, too salty, not enough butter, too buttery -- you get the idea.

Well, as the title suggests, three li'l words describe this butter to a T. It is unbelievably, incredibly, stupendously fantastic! This, combined with some Great Northern Popcorn make, in this lone popcorn fanatic's perception at least, sheer perfection.

I've had some great movie theater popcorn in my day, and this emulates, if not actually TRUMPS, the best I've had. All the way down to the tickly aftertaste senstation you get in the back of your throat. It's dangerously addicting. If you like movie theater popcorn, this is quite simply THE one to buy.

I don't like the after-taste of the "Butter Flavored Popcorn Topping".....

I prefer "Mor Gold" Premium Butter Topping it has a far superior taste and "Mor Gold" is also more creamy and more theater like buttery taste than "Butter Flavored Popcorn Topping".

If you haven't tried Mor Gold - then you really can't say...I've tried them all and Mor Gold taste is just like in the movie theaters...I too use to work in a movie theater and I know that butter popcorn taste like the back of my hand, I love it and Mor Gold has it hands down....

Also if you can find the Coconut oil in the 1/4 lb. sticks, this also helps make it more like the movies But it's not really necessary, Mor Gold will do the job well all by itself....The salt is really just up to you....I tried the "fine grain popcorn salt" but I think regular house salt from your pantry is just as good or even better...Try It & Enjoy!

Ordered this product as a supplement to my concession operation. On receipt, I put it on some popcorn I'd made for friends as a test run. Of the six people who tried it (myself included), four thought the popcorn tasted oily and that it actually detracted from the taste of the popcorn. The topping was put on in incremental amounts. Of the six testers, no one thought it made the popcorn better. Four thought it negatively affected the popcorn and the other two were neutral. I will most likely not be purchasing this product in the future.

Im not sure about the other products out there but this stuff will make you believe your at the theater...the only problem is with the application..there are no instructions and its really thick so i have found the only way is to pour some into a small container (i used an old mustard squirt container) then spread cooked popcorn all level in the maker then apply some liberally on top then mix it all together...after doing that twice the popcorn is perfect the only problem is that itmakes the popcorn maker ALLOT messier then if you applied it somewhere else...good luck

this is the best popcorn topping we have found. It is 99.9% as good as the movie theater, the only thing missing is the big screene, this is great stuff you got to try it.

Good stuff, just watch you don't put too much on or it is just oily. Add to popcorn salt to it and you are set. Wonderful stuff, better than the movie theatre!

I am a popcorn addict and what's more, a buttered popcorn addict, so with this product I was able to skip the line at the movie theater all together!! The only problem I have with this is that it congeals and is not good unless it is thoroughly warmed. To make it work, I put the amount I want to use in a small container (like a salsa bowl) and heat it in the microwave for about a minute. Pour it on, shake the popcorn to mix, and voila, perfect popcorn!! Yum!!

I RESEARCHED A HANDFULL OF DIFFERANT TOPPINGS. THIS ACTUALLY TASTES LIKE MOVIE THEATHER TOPPING-GREAT WARMED SLIGHTLY---WARNING.....THIS IS A HUGE CONTAINER AND WILL LAST THE AVERAGE HOME OWNER WHO MAKES A BATCH A WEEK 3-4 YEARS AT LEAST!!!
