I'm a twentysomething gamer who doesn't have the time, patience, or skill for really involving, hard-to-complete games. (I grew up playing "Kaboom!" & "Ms. Pac-Man," okay?) I wanted a straight-out, just racing, "Enduro"-type game. This gave me exactly what I wanted! Unlike "Mickey's Racing Adventure" where you have to search through towns and do other stuff to upgrade your vehicles, "Wacky Races" just lets you race. You begin with a choice from five different racers, each with advantages and disadvantages. After winning a few races, you get about five or six more vehicle choices. There are about nine different race tracks, with different skill levels. As you race, you can pick up bonuses to knock your opponents out, while avoiding sabotage from other vehicles. You can also set different skill levels. I played at the intermediate level, with the easiest car, and got more than halfway through the game, so it's just challenging enough. The graphics are also pretty impressive for "Game Boy"--very cartoony and lots of vibrant color. I'm very pleased with my choice!

This is a game that will appeal to kids and to the twentysomethings (like me) that grew up with the show. It's a straightforward racing game. More like Beetle Adventure Racing (for the N64) than Diddy Kong racing. The action is fast and you have to pick up items to "cheat" your way though the race. If you remember the show you know they all did it, even the good guys! You get to use speed boosts, rockets and shields as well as other items PLUS have to avoid oil slicks and the like. The graphics are really geourous on the GBC. The sound however get's a bit too repetive and I think they really needed to include Mutley trademarked laugh. It's the ONE real flaw I see with this game. Most of the characters from the show are present and even if you don't remember them all they're each fun to play. Pick up this game if you want non-stop straight forward racing at it's finest!

This is a game that will appeal to kids, racing fans and to the twentysomethings (like me) that grew up with the show. Keep in mind though, it's a straightforward racing game. There's no finding hidden items or shortcuts. You just hit the gas as soon as the light turns green and try to blow up anyone who's in your way. The action is fast and you have to pick up items to "cheat" your way though the race. If you remember the show you know they all did it, even the good guys! You get to use speed boosts, rockets and shields as well as other items PLUS have to avoid oil slicks and the like. It gets pretty intense. The graphics are sharp and crisp setting a new standard for the GBC. I was really impressed. The sound however gets a bit too repetive and I think they really needed to include Mutley's trademarked laugh. It's the ONE real flaw I see with this game. Most of the characters from the show are present and even if you don't remember them all they're each fun to play. Pick up this game if you want non-stop straight forward racing at it's finest!
