From Wacom, leaders in digital pen technology for over 30 years, comes the 2nd generation Bamboo Stylus solo. Get more from your tablet as you write, sketch, or navigate while enjoying a pen-like experience thanks to the stylus's in-hand balance. The slim, responsive rubber nib is easy to replace, and the stylus's polished anodized aluminum cap protects it when not in use. The Bamboo Stylus solo is available in six colors and compatible with all capacitive touchscreen devices, including tablets, smartphones, e-readers, and more.

Precise Navigating and Drawing with Thin, High-Quality Stylus Tip

The Bamboo Stylus solo has a 5mm tip, smaller than many other styluses on the market, which usually have 8mm tips. A smaller tip means you can better see your writing or drawing as you create. The Bamboo Stylus solo nib is made of a unique mix of materials and crafted with care to glide across your screen without scratching. And when the nib wears off after extensive use, you can easily replace it (replacement nibs are sold separately).

Stylus with an Authentic Pen-Like Experience

With the 2nd generation Bamboo Stylus solo, you'll experience natural, comfortable doodling, writing, and navigating. This stylus offers an authentic pen-like experience for your touchscreen devices, thanks to its in-hand balance. The stylus is compatible with devices using capacitive touchscreen technology.

Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

The stylus has a nice weight and feels much like a good pen in the hand.

It would only make a mark if I pressed really hard, so hard that the rubber tip was completely squished up against the metal inside.

Notice the huge disparity in reports? You either love it or hate it, right? Well, my experience was exactly like many write about. After three weeks of use, the nib fell apart. I returned it for a replacement unit after noticing the Bamboo logo was disappearing off the stylus. Seemed weird so I called Wacom. The customer service was superb and after hearing of my concern they asked me to take pictures of the nib assembly and stylus. Guess what? COUNTERFEIT !!! Customer service acknowledged they are having problems and offered to replace the unit. In addition, I have discovered after using for several more week a lighter touch works better on my iPad. Remember, friction is the enemy.

I've never had a stylus and thought they were just crappy pieces of plastic from the old Palm days. I'm not an artist, but became interested in a stylus when I saw someone at work using one on their iPad. I wound up buying a Wacom as I knew the brand and it looked more durable than other ones I came across. Upon first use I noticed a huge difference over simply using my finger. The stylus has a nice glide to it and feels very authentic in its feel. I don't use the stylus exclusively, but I've found that it is the right length and weight for drawing and visualizing ideas on both my iPad any smartphone. In fact, that's one of the first things that surprised me when I took it out of the box-the weight and durability. To me, it just felt natural and felt like a pen. Since I've had mine, several people have asked to try it and have bought their own and are very satisfied. Try one out...you won't be disappointed.

I'm a artist and love drawing on my iPad. The smaller nub on this stylus really let's me get the details that I need. Very comfortable in the hand. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a stylus to draw with.

I am appending this review after 2 weeks of using this stulys and I change the rating from 2 to 4 stars! Why? Well because after initial bad experience with the stylus (see below) after few days it started to be really precise on my iPad! In the same apps where during the first few days it was very imprecise (Penultimate and Sketchbook pro) it started to be really good! Because it now works well across all apps I think it was due to the rubber head requiring initial "warming up" by using it. Really fantastic change in experience! 4 not 5 stars only because it was not good in the beginning and I almost threw it away.

My original review:

Like the previous reviewer "I ordered this Wacom SOLO stylus, thinking "a Wacom stylus is a Wacom stylus".

Unfortunately when I use it on iPad, because of the smaller head, it is not as precise and iPad does not always recognize the movement which translates into part of the letters in the notes which I write being missing. Very frustrating.

Very sad to see the company sacrificed usefulness of the product in order to make new model visually appealing to customers to buy.

As an individual who owns many styli, I like, no, I hope I can give this one a good review. I hope you agree.

I already own a Bamboo so I gather one might think I'm already a wee bit prejudiced, but I'm not. This one is different in that the stylus is smaller. You would think that this would decrease the weight but it doesn't. One might ponder, 'Why do I need a pen attached to a stylus?" As an educator my job revolves around meetings and those meetings revolve around forms. While I use my tablet for ALL note-taking, I can't very well write down information or fill out a worksheet with just having a stylus, can I? I like the convenience of having a pen and a stylus together so I don't have to 'lug' both around.

I will admit that Bamboo is quite pricey but it's money well spent (and, as a reminder, I have bought another one so just because this one is a vine review-free-I understand the importance of money).

Weight-wise it sits well in the hand. It's heavier than your average pen or stylus when uses separately. The weight is comfortable though.

One of the most important aspects of any stylus is does it get a good response from the tablet? I've used this on Apple and Droid devices and the response 'time' is unbelievably accurate. It's hard to find a good stylus that can do what this one can. Signatures, highlights, drawing, writing...you name it. That is, WITHOUT a screen protector. Yes, it works with one but there is some sluggishness. :(

Overall I find this to be a great investment. It won't replace all my other styli/pen-styli: Dagi, Hello Kitty, Pentel, etc...; BUT it will get along well with them as they all have their own special trait(s).

I'm going to take the time to write a rather detailed review because I like Wacom (their Intuos Pro tablet has really made my life a lot easier!) and I think my thoughts might help other people trying to decide. First let me say that I bought the stylus with the intentions of taking notes with it. I know some people use a stylus to navigate their tablet, but that is not why I ordered it. I love the fact that I can use my fingers on my iPad Air, and I see no reason to carry an extra accessory to accomplish something that my finger does better. However, I recognize that some people don't want to get fingerprints on their screen or (for whatever reason) have trouble using their fingers.
Now, as to the Bamboo stylus, I really hate it! My hand still hurts from using it, and I only tried it out for about a half hour! There are several problems, which when combined left my hand aching. And, BTW, I am in my early 30s and have no problems with my hands, so it really does cause discomfort (another reviewer had posted about their hand hurting, and when I read the review, I rolled my eyes assuming that the person had arthritis or something. Stupid me, I should have listened because they were spot on).
The first problem is that the tip is soft, and I mean really soft (think of bubble gum after having been chewed on for awhile, which is different than the hard rubber of an eraser, which is what I thought it was going to be like). In order to get the stylus to register you have to push down until the tip squishes out. The softness is good in that it squishes easily, but it is deceptive. You'd think that since it squishes so easily it wouldn't be hard to keep the level of pressure needed.
