This review is from: Wacom Cross Executive Pen - Capless (UPCROSS2) (Personal Computers)
I am an efficiency/business coach and a Tablet junkie. I love my Fujitsu T4210 and use it as my only computer. For me, having the best pen on the market was a must. The capless Wacom Cross pen is the best available at any price. I prefer it to the Capped version, which is slow to use (have to take off the cap) and which is not as durable (the Cap actually broke apart, both the sleeve from the silver lining, and the clip itself) I agree that the Pen could be improved by a) more weight and b) a textured or soft grip and c) a second button (to allow for more options) My recommendations/tweaks for Tablet users: 1) Download the latest drivers from the WACOM website. They provide more options for adjusting the calibration on your screen> I personally like to use my Button+Hovering for the right click option. It's a must faster and close-to-mouse way of using the pen. 2) For me, I've found that by swapping the conical tips that came with the Cross Pen for the vanilla lead tips that came with the standard Tablet pens yields a better response. 3) ALWAYS carry backup tips in your briefcase...just in case!

Best device of its kind,

The cross pen is without a doubt one of the best penabled pens available on the market, which is not surprising since the market is cluttered with manufacture pens.It is a properly weighted and slick piece, and is my main pain for tablet use. Those who are afraid of heavy pens need not apply, as it is much heftier than pens of the Bic variety. But for those raised on comfort grips and the like, this pen is perfect. Response and writing feel are on par, if not better than any manufacture pens I've ever tried (this includes fujitsu and toshiba ones).

Nice Nubs,

I have both the HP TC1100 and a Toshiba M400 Tablet PC's but I really don't like the included stylus with either for drawing or writing. The Cross Executive Pen has the hallmark weight and solid feel of a decent ink pen with nice nubs that foster a more natural drawing or note-taking session. I'm very fond of the pens button design because, unlike the HP's default stylus, there is rarely an accidental press that disrupts the state of concentration one falls into when drawing. As many have mentioned, the cap option should be avoided because the cap tends to be tight enough that you can literally break the stylus when removing. There is also the issue of why someone needs a cap on a stylus since you have no cause to worry about dried ink...

Great Eraser - Great Pen Feel,
This review is from: Wacom Cross Executive Pen - Capless (UPCROSS2) (Personal Computers)
I originally bought this pen as an accessory for my Fujitsu T4020 because I wanted to have a pen with eraser functionality, but this pen turned out to be a lot better than what I was expecting. While having a wider grip had some advantages, the thing that really impressed me was the smooth motion of the pen on the screen. With the built-in pen, there was some hesitation in moving then pen. with the Cross pen, it feels as smooth as a ball-bearing. In addition, I've noticed that the pressure sensitivity has been a bit more accurate, as has the text recognition. Even if you don't care about the ergonomics, this pen really makes a Tablet PC much easier to use.

There really isn't a lot to say about this product other than tht it is very well designed and well suited to its purpose: inking with a tablet PC.The pen is typical of Cross: it fits the hand well, neither too slim nor too bulky. It is so well balanced that, in the hand, it feels as if it weighs nothing. The barrel button accomodates the fingertip naturally and does not get in the way when just inking with it. In short, it's a well designed tool that accomplishes its intended purpose. Jerry

WACOM Capless Pen,

Overall I am pelased with this pen. I use an IBM ThinkPad X41 for school and take lots of notes on my tablet. It is much more confortable than the OEM and is a nice replacement for the OEM. My only complaint is that I have calibrated the pen several times to my screen, but I have been unsuccessful at aligning the curser to the pen point. It is just a slight discrepency and I'm sure can be fixed. I just haven't figured out how yet.

Excellent Upgrade to HP TC1100 pen,
By
This review is from: Wacom Cross Executive Pen - Capless (UPCROSS2) (Personal Computers)
My writing appears finer (better resolution on the tablet pc) when using this pen possibly because the tip is smaller than the one supplied with the HP TC1100. The main reason I bought this is because it has an eraser which is definitely better than clicking the pen and eraser tabs in a program. The button on the shaft is slightly recessed and I have never accidently pressed. The only reason that I gave this pen a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the diameter. I am more comfortable writing with narrower pens but if you have no problem using pens the size of Pilot's Dr. Grip line then this pen is a perfect fit.

Good All-Around Pen for TabletPC,
By
This review is from: Wacom Cross Executive Pen - Capless (UPCROSS2) (Personal Computers)
I've found the capless Wacom Cross Executive Pen to be a good all around pen for TabletPC inking. It's well designed to fit comfortably in the hand and has a professional appearance, which is important in my profession. It's also a major step up from most (but not all) standard pens that come with TabletPCs. I would recommend this pen to anyone who is not satisfied with the feel of the pen that came with the tablet, or who is looking for a pen to carry around as a spare - the attached clip makes it possible to slip it into a bag or portfolio without fear of it dropping out somewhere.

Comfortable pen, well balanced -needs a box.,

This review is from: Wacom Cross Executive Pen - Capless (UPCROSS2) (Personal Computers)
I have small hands and therefore didn't find much difference in the comfort level of the grip when using this pen as compared to the pen that came with my Fujitsu T4020. This one however looks much more professional and is the only reason I am keeping it. As for quality of writing, this pen actually drags more than my other which I found tired my hand more quickly (I take copious notes),however this may be caused by the screen protector and not the pen. I was very dissapointed that a pen which cost over $40 and bears the Cross name should come packaged in plastic with no box or even a simple cover to protect it. This is not the type of pen to be thrown in a bag or a briefcase without protection. The product dropped one star because of this, otherwise I think its a fine product that works well on a Fujitsu. This review was written using it.Update 11/06 The pen stopped functioning in October. It begins to "write" about 1" over the tablet which results in scribble lines everywhere. I have not been happy with the performance of this pen. |
