Excellent tablet,

After fiddling with the tablet for 15 minutes in photoshop, paintshop pro, and openCanvas 1.1, I finally got adjusted to the tablet. The thing works beautifully! I'm still using my optical mouse for the pixel arts (video game sprites), but for every other art related project I use the tablet. I also, found that you can put a piece of paper or tissue over the plastic covering to give the the surface some texture.

Any artist looking for a way to incorporate thier art into computers will love this tablet. It isn't too expensive and offers enough to someone who is looking to expand thier horizon. So much can be done with this for any one who is open and curious enough to use it to it's full potential.

The tablet is easy to install and very accurate. It takes a lot of time to get use to the pencil. The touch is hard to master and I had to try several settings to get the one that worked the best. It is something that takes getting use to, and that only comes from using it. Frustrating at times but still better than a big mouse to do detail. My main use for the tablet is for Coral Draw program that I use for design and Engraving.

Great Buy,
This review is from: Wacom Graphire4 6x8 USB Tablet (White) (Personal Computers)
I use the tablet just about every time I use Photoshop or Illustrator . . . and when I'm not using the tablet, I find myself thinking about it and wishing I was using it:)
Tablet tracking of the stylus is great; the stylus is very easy to use and customize; and best of all, the tablet has opened up numerous creative avenues via the endless brush options in PS and AI. One thing I wish that came with the Graphire are the instructional DVDs that come with the Intuos . . . I have seen them and they are very cool and informative. I strongly recommend the Graphire4, but also suggest getting the Intuos (yes, I have used the Intuos) if you have the extra cash.

I love Wacom tablets! You will never want to use a mouse again after you use one of these tablets. Although, this is a very good tablet the Intuos models are my favorite.

Very happy with this item.... I seem to have a small problem with the performance of the Wacom and stylus and will call the manufacturer for assistance.
Stylus seems to just travel on it's own. Hard to control....

My work requires me to work with the modern box called computer all day long and I clearly started getting wrist problems due to mouse over-use. This product is fantastic. I has helped my wrist problem. I can use some, but not, applications even faster than by using a regular mouse. Since it connects to your USB, you can have your regular mouse still active and use them with both hands.
I just take one star off from this product because it is not Linux compatible (same for Solaris). I am not sure when they want to write its driver on Linux.

This product works very well w/ Photoshop. I can edit fine details which I cannot w/ a mouse. Highly recommended.

Wacom makes it so much easier for me to do graphic design with the pen. I was discouraged at first
but once you master it there's no turning back. Just give it time and you will see how much better your hand will feel. I had one at work but I finally bought one for my home. I picked the white one and it looks like it came with my imac. I have nothing bad to say about it just DON'T LOSE THE PEN.

This is my first graphics tablet and I trawled the web reading reviews to figure out which one was right for me. I wanted something large enough to feel like I had a decent size surface to handle, and in that regard I'm really pleased, the 6x8 is just right! Software installs flawlessly (using a mac) and all settings become available in the Sys Preferences and as a bonus turns on the Ink capability of OS X (handwriting recognition - I haven't tried it, don't feel the need for it, but looks pretty cool). I was warned, but it's true: once you get a taste for it, and after a quick learning curve, it becomes quite adictive. I find using Corel Painter Essentials (bundled) a real treat, never thought this would be so intuitive to use. My only regret for not getting the (more expensive) intuos is that I could use more than the two buttons on the tablet to be able to never use the keyboard except for writting. That said, I can easily live without it as a non-professional.
