Customer Reviews

Battery is not rechargeable.
Maybe I'm using this wrong but this feels nothing like a regular wacom tablet, the pressure sensitivity is terrible and in every app the palm rejection is hit or miss.
Amazon Customer
Pressure sensitivity works great on sketch and drawing apps that support it: Sketchbook pro, Bamboo paper, Procreate, etc.

I'm a big Wacom tablet user and when i saw this i couldn't wait to get one, I'm glad i did. First, its very comfortable holding it. Its also weighted just right which makes it steady. The stylus comes in a great clamshell case with extra tips. It comes with one battery to get you started which is supposed to last 150 hours. Replacements are super inexpensive i got some on amazon they are size AAAA. You can use the stylus for anything but to get the full effects there are a handful of apps that take advantage of it. I use ProCreate and i'm super happy with how the pen works with it.

The stylus glides very smoothly on my iPad and doesn't leave any marks. The tip seems to be very secure and made of good rubber. Sketching, coloring and other kinds of drawing are made fun and easy using this stylus. One thing is that the instructions are not so great. Its a small booklet with no words just arrows and icons and you are supposed to figure out what they mean. I had to call tech support to figure out what to do. Once I was told I was like duh! if they just put a few words in the instructions all would be simple. It connects via bluetooth make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPad. Then, start the app and go to the Settings where external devices are enabled. Set your Intuos Creative Stylus to pairing mode by pressing the center of the side switch. The blue LED starts blinking. Then connect to the app by hitting the respective button in the app. The blue LED is lit for about 2 seconds and goes off. Now, your Intuos Creative Stylus is ready to go. Once that's done anytime you wish to use the stylus just enable bluetooth again and press the button on the pen and you are good to draw.

Unlike many finicky, problematic disc-tip styluses, the Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus works well 100% of the time on all supported iPad models (it will work as a 'standard' stylus on any capacitive touch device, pressure sensitivity requires Bluetooth 4). Although it may seem expensive at $99, what you receive is a high-quality artists' tool. The Intuos comes complete with carrying case, two extra tips (with space for five total) and a slot for a spare AAAA battery (stylus comes complete with one battery).

I love the included case; it's sturdy and well constructed, but also compact and lightweight. I accidentally dropped it on concrete, and was pleased that my stylus was undamaged and the case, unbroken (minor scuffs only).

The Intuos uses the same reliable tips found on Wacom's popular Bamboo styluses; they glide well and are precise with some practice, although aren't as good as the oStylus DOT for very fine, minuscule precision work and details. However, the Intuos Creative Stylus has been easier for me to use due to its size and shape; it's much easier to hold and actuate across the iPad, as the Bamboo pen shaft is narrow and short.

With Bluetooth 4, setup is snappy and super simple. No more awkward "device pairing," just turn on Bluetooth on the tablet, turn on the stylus, open a supported app and enable the Intuos inside that app. It's very easy to switch back and forth between tablets as well, if you have more than one iPad. Although the stylus uses a somewhat unusual battery type, AAAA (many store employees kept asking if I meant triple-A and hadn't heard of quadruple-A batteries), I was able to find two and four packs at the drug store.

The iPad Air's touchscreen isn't intended to be a pressure-sensitive drawing tablet, so to compensate for that Wacom have done something quite clever: placed the sensitivity in the pen. The Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus is a great tool for drawing on the iPad. It contains 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity, and it works with a lot of the drawing and animation apps currently on the iPad...and when it's not being used for drawing, it's a cinch to realize that it's a generic point-and-tap stylus too.

The tip of the Creative Stylus is a rubber cap. You get three with your purchase and as they wear out you can order more. Replacing the tip is fairly simple: unscrew the conical end point, pop off the old rubber cap, and slip on a new one. It's pretty important to do so as soon as you notice wear and tear though: the end is metal, and I would imagine it could quickly scratch up your iPad's screen if you don't have a screen protector.

The pen itself is a little bit bulky. It's fairly lightweight but thick to hold, like a child's crayon. That said, the fluted point does make it easy to grip with your fingertips, so long as you remember to keep the buttons rotated out of the way--it's common when you're learning to use the pen to accidentally bump them. The back end of the pen is where you insert the battery, and unfortunately it isn't rechargeable: it's a single AAAA battery, which isn't always easy to find in your local stores.

While the Creative Stylus works well with most drawing programs, there are some drawbacks that keep it from being a perfect tool. First is the fact that an iPad simply isn't a drawing tablet: it won't perform as well as a proper Wacom device.
