We already own Gallop and Swing, so I bought Waddle as soon as I saw it was available. My 3 year old son loves these books. The are especially great to take on trips and for independent play. He can sit and look through "reading" them to himself for at least an hour. These make great gifts too as they are so unique and fun.

A very fascinating book for any age. Older ones will focus on how it works while younger ones just enjoy the movement. Best thing--no batteries!! Constructed so sturdy even young toddlers can handle it without damaging it(no chewing, of course!) I have 2 of Seder's scranimation books & grandkids frequently choose them. I own many children's books, but this one appeals to the broadest age of audiences.

Waddle is sure to delight not only the 4 to 8 year olds, but also the toddler who likes color and animation. The pictures are cute, the Scanimation delightful. Children will love the alligators, pigs and more! A great companion to his previous books Swing! and Gallop!: A Scanimation Picture Book (Scanimation Books).

More than just a unique picture book, Waddle is "must have" for the "Beginning -to-read" crowd. I'm a librarian in a K-12 school. Our beginning-to-read book section now includes Waddle, and it's a big hit. The large print, the alliteration and the clearly amazing pictures combine to give little ones just enough clues to decode the text - and have a lot of fun at the same time.

This book was a great buy for children who love books. I bought 2 as gifts and gave them already.

I purchased Waddle after enjoying Gallop with my two year old grandson. He loves both books.

I like the fact that some of the pictures in Waddle are in color.

Waddle, illustrated by Rufus Butler Seder, is just about the cutest book I've seen in a long time. I brought it home for Rory, 18 months old, and she immediately feel in love. She couldn't wait to turn each page and act out the movements of all the animals.

"Can you STOMP like an elephant?"

Yes she can!

This is a new favorite and stays close by for when Rory is visiting.

Our 2-year old calls this "penguin book" because of the cover and LOVES for us to read it to him. If you don't know already, the animals make movements when you turn the page so it's not your ordinary kids book. Highly recommended!

I was very excited to buy this book for our six month old grandson. Pictures that move, with great action verbs, and descriptive movements for the animals. When our book arrived the bear page did not work, but with a number of gentle opening and closings and now with a popping sound, the page works fine. Having read other reviews, it may be that as he grows older he will be able to see the scanimations better, however, board picture books should be for our youngest readers. I agree with another reviewer that it would be nice to more easily see the scanimations, but I'm not sure that that is possible. And, what's with the last scanimation, the alligator that will get you? It is the action of an alligator, but I just wished for something different.

UPDATE: As our grandson nears a year it appears that he can see the pictures better and the wonderful language on the pages is so much fun. So my recommendation is to wait until about a year and then I think most children will enjoy the scanimation books.

My nephews loved this book and the rest in the series. Actually picked up the Star Wars one in a store this past Christmas. Definitely would recommend for children under the age of 10. Lots of fun.
