About the Author
At 17 years-old, Michael DeShazer II published The Wade Scandal, a fast-paced thriller and his first novel. His book had not even been on the bookshelves for a month when The Wade Scandal hit the Borders Local Bestsellers List in Memphis, TN. As a local bestseller, Michael has been featured on Memphis WMCTV-5, Channel 3 Live @ 9, V101.1 Radio, 95.7 Hallelujah FM, the morning WLOK talk show, and the Commercial Appeal newspaper. Also, as a high school reporter and essay writer, Michael was chosen by Elder & Leemaur Publishers to be included in their 2005 publication of Authors of Tomorrow. In addition to writing The Wade Scandal and numerous articles for his school newspaper, Michael has accomplished so much at a young age. He has worked as an intern at the Investigation Bureau of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. He also interned for several months at one of the largest law firms in Memphis, Thomason Hendrix Law Office. As an aspiring lawyer and politician, Michael has competed in several mock trial competitions on local and state levels. He was named Best Prosecution Attorney for his work in the 2005 Tennessee Bar Association Mock Trial competition. He has served as a delegate at many Model United Nations and Youth in Government conferences as well. He accredits most of his legal, political, and literary knowledge that was used to write The Wade Scandal to his job experiences, extra-curricular activities, and classic novels that he has read.
