Product Description

This solar powered outdoor lantern is uniquely designed to provide a light source without any external electrical power. It's 2 lights in one: an LED spotlight plus an adjustable LED lantern! Recharge by capturing natural power through the built-in solar panel or drawing DC power from your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. It is a light source that can be used during emergencies or on outdoor trips such as camping or fishing. This dual function light source provides extra light whenever you need it. Its efficient LED lights are adjustable to provide the best illumination and the powerful spotlight provides precise lighting. The LED spotlight lasts up to 17 hours and the LED lantern lasts for up to 4 hours. Features a 500mA USB power port, output indicator, output switch, and DC charger input. Easily charges your USB electronics on the go using solar power. It is equipped with a built-in rechargeable 1.4 Ah lithium ion battery. Simply recharge 4-5 hours using the included DC adapter or for 15-20 hours using the 1 watt monocrystallibe solar cell panel. A convenient carrying handle is attached to the lantern for easy portability. Plus the carrying handle, solar cell and lantern all rotate for added convenience and maximum efficiency.

Great Lighting Alternative January 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this lantern as a battery powered alternative for camping. Admittedly, my expectations were not high. It's solar powered; how great could it be? Pretty darn great, it turns out.

The adjustable solar panel is on one side, so I store mine in the window, to keep it fully charged. The led panel floods a 10-15' area with tons of light where you need it most. Unlike round lanterns, I don't have to set it in the middle of an area to be lit. I can face it forward on any flat spot or carry it by the well built handle.

The small spot light does its job too but not quite as brightly as a high powered flashlight. Still, it gives a smaller beam that allows me to find a dropped screw in the gravel or check out a far corner for "visitors."

It holds a charge for a long time, is well built, and very easy to use. Right now, mine is sitting in my car, solar panel up, just in case the wintery weather throws me a curve on the road. I love it!

Solid design, rugged appeal September 14, 2007
By steph
I bought two of these to take to Burning Man, not knowing what to expect, and wow, they were great. They survived two dust storms, rain and were covered with mud by the end, but I brushed them off and they're still working great. Easy to tote, compact design... the solar panel is adjustable and the fluorescent light output is sincerely potent. The only thing is, with solar in general, that they take quite awhile to power up. Highly recommended... I'm a happy customer.

Would have given unit a 5 if it hadn't failed the first time I used it. I really like this lantern when it works. Note: for the warranty to be active you have to register w/in 30 days of purchase. Missed that little detail. My switch stopped turning the lantern off with 1st use. If you cannot turn it off, it is useless. Took the unit apart and a few metal flakes fell out. Jiggled the switch and reassembled. Working great now. Hopefully the problem is fixed.

Solar Lantern
This is a very nice lantern, bright, solar recharged with a build in sealed lead acid battery.

The design can be improved further, but then nothing is perfect. Read more
