5.0 out of 5 stars A combination spotlight and emergency lantern
This is a very bright spotlight powered by a sealed lead-acid battery that recharges from a wall outlet or from a car's accessory plug (adapters included). In addition to the 2-million candlepower beam, there's a lower setting for longer battery life and a small LED in the handle for a small spot light or when only a little light is needed for a long time.
But the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Maybe I Got a Lemon
I was expecting a very bright spotlight that would last a reasonable amount of time before needing a charge. Instead, I got a spotlight that was fairly bright but nothing special, and the battery would start to lose its strength after about 10 minutes. Worse, the battery quit after less than a year.

Fortunately, it was still under warranty. It's still...

5.0 out of 5 stars A combination spotlight and emergency lantern, May 7, 2007

This is a very bright spotlight powered by a sealed lead-acid battery that recharges from a wall outlet or from a car's accessory plug (adapters included). In addition to the 2-million candlepower beam, there's a lower setting for longer battery life and a small LED in the handle for a small spot light or when only a little light is needed for a long time.
But the big advantage to this light is the built-in fluorescent bulb in the side that can be used as an emergency light or simply to flood a small area.
This is a relatively compact light to be so bright - not like carrying a suitcase. And the added LED and fluorescent flood make it very versatile. I have two. Like all lead-acid lights, you can ruin it by draining the battery. If you need a very bright beam for more than 15 or 20 minutes, buy something that plugs in.

It's still sort of a hassle having to deal with warranty service after less than a year of minimal use. According to Wagan Technical Support, the batteries are supposed to last 2 years.

I bought this light thinking it would be a good worklight for outdoors. Battery wont last 15 minutes, and after six months they were dead for good. It was a complete waste of money

Not Bright Enough. "I had a 1 million for Years that was brighter.
I owned this one less than three months, smelled something electricial. After checking where the power source plugs into the spotlight, it was WAY TOO HOT. I was afraid to use again.
Thank you Amazon.com for working with me to purchase a different spotlight.
After taking such great care of this product, having to purchase another so soon is unreal!

It has all the features anyone would ever need but the battery didn't last 6 months. Had to throw this nice looking piece of junk in the trash.

Don't waste your money on this!

Light was not as bright as my 1 miillion candle power light. Also, it didn't take a charge after the fourth time it was used. Don't buy this light!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Price too good to be true --yes, November 13, 2010
This review is from: Wagan EL2358 2 Million Brite-Nite Spotlight Lantern (Misc.)
All these features for such a low price? Yes, the spotlight was bright, but then the battery failed to take a charge after a few months.

I opened it and the battery was giving off a horrible chemical odor.

It's in the trash now and I am wiser about buying this company's products.

I do agree with Martin.
I did buy 2 of those spotlight lanterns and after 6 months they were dead.
The bright light never lasted more than 15 mins.
When charching they turned on alone.
I was totally disapointed and frustrated.
Don't buy them, put them in the garbage bin.

This flashlight is all in one! We live in the rural desert of Arizona and us it every night. The fact that its rechargeable is the best but it has high, low beams plus the florescent and mini lights. The price is unbeatable!
