I bought this cooler for a family road trip. Just before we left I filled it with 6 bottles of orange juice from the fridge the night before and put them inside. They were still nice and cool when we drank them. There was still plenty of room for yogurt, string cheese and apples for the kids. I love how it helps us save money and eat better by bringing our own healthy snacks from home instead of stopping for fast food when the kids get hungry. The cup holders are a nice addition too.

We just used this item on a two week trip. Our purpose was to keep some medication cool and have cool water. It worked on both counts - within minutes the inside is cool. Remember to unplug it at night. It apparently only took about six hours to drain an Explorer battery. (It was still cool inside in the morning.) Lesson learned. These things cool to about 40 degrees below ambient, so in an air conditioned car - it worked great. During short stops (up to two hours) we left it on and even though the inside car temp got to 100F - the cooler was able to maintain a good cool environment. For what it is, and for the power it draws (45 watts or so?) it does the trick. It's not a refrigerator - it's a cooler and for that it saved us from having to buy ice on the trip. I'm very happy with it. If the unit had more insulation is world be less useful because it would take up two much room in the car - the size was just right for our needs.

We're half way through our first trip with the frig. It keeps the items cool through the day and with the assistance of the AC attachment, keeps them cool through the night in the hotel/motel rooms without frigs. The instructions say to ALWAYS start the car's engine before pluging in the frig. That is difficult (if not impossible) to remember.

This product does not do the job as advertised. We received it last week and took it on a short trip this weekend. Even with plugging it in in the house to cool it down, it didn't get very cold and on the trip when the car is turned off, the fridge turns off. It needs much better insulation to keep anything cold when it is turned off. Not very happy with this product at all. An ice chest works much better and is cheaper. It isn't large enough to put a dish or even leftovers in it. Only good for stacking a few drink cans or maybe some fruit.

I had one of these in my workshed for a couple of years and finally decided to try it out. It didn't work, wouldn't get cold or warm. I figured it was just broken. Found one at a yard sale for $20 so I got it as I was making a trip and wanted something cold to drink. It didn't work either. Figured I got burnt for the 20. Found one on Amazon and decided to try it. I put ice cold soda in it from the fridge, put it in the car and started on a 300 mile trip. I made sure the unit was turned on and running. After about 150 miles, I decided I wanted to drink. Has anyone ever drank warm Mountain Dew?? The cans were cold when they went in but warm when I stopped to have one. Yes the unit was on the cold mode. Given a choice between buying a Yugo and one of these, I would go for the Yugo.

This item did not cool as the description suggested. When leaving the fridge plugged in for a couple of days, it still barely cooled canned sodas. Not Recommended.

I was a little surprised when this arrived and found that it COOLED and HEATED! Most coolers I have owned only offer one or the other and never cool or heat efficiently. Needless to say, I was VERY impressed with the overall quality of the product. I really only use it for the cooling and it works GREAT! My lunch is always ice cold.

It really works; keeping your drinks cold or warming your food.
I'm on the road a lot, and this little gadget keeps my drinks cool, sometimes without even plugging it in.
you'd have to remember to unplug it so i doesn't run your batteries down..

Only used this one time, the second time it wouldn't even turn on. Wish I would have listened to the other reviews and skipped this purchase! Don't waste your money.

This keeps your hot food hot, and your cold food cold. My only complaint is that there is not much of a switch between the hot and the cold... The "Off" is on the middle of the switch, the cold is up and the hot is down. I went to turn it off, and it switched to hot, thus baking my fruits and veggies. The lever is very short, so I thought it was off but it wasn't. If there was a separate, or longer switch between hot and cold, I'd have given it 5 stars. It's also a little loud, but so is my car, which is why I didn't realize it was still on.
