The Wagan 9794 is an excellent 3 way socket extension for your current car cigareete (power) socket. It comes with a pretty long extension cord, so you can position it just about anywhere you want to inside the car. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has more than one car appliance such as a radar detector, navigation system, ipod am/fm transmitter, etc.

So far this item seems to work fine. I was hoping to use a power outlet in the back seat area but that didn't work out. I was able to mount it out of the way near my emergency brake and run 2 other cords to it, which tidyied up my console area. It doesn't mention the length of the cord anywhere on Amazon or on the mfg web site so I contacted the manufacturer. The response I received was that the cable is 5.5 ft long, but actually it is 38".

I purchased this adapter (as opposed to one without a cable because to use my existing socket for power I had to keep the ashtray open all the time.

It took me about 10 minutes to wire this unit to the existing socket wiring, and 1 minute to attach the unit to my car using the provided screws.

I am using two of the ports - one connected to my Sirius satellite receiver and the other conencted to my Garmin GPS - everything works fine.

The power indicator is "interesting" but redundant from a practical standpoint as my car already has a battery indicator.

For the price you can't go wrong.

Note that you will have to be patient as the lead time for this unit is about a month from cablesonline.

We have a car phone, MP3 and a TomTom. During a recent trip it was nice to know that we could keep them all charged. We put a piece of velcro on the console and another on the back of the unit and it is now a permanent fixture in the car.

I was indeed skeptical about leaving this plugged into my car constantly since the led's are always on, but i have not unplugged it for the last month and had no battery problems. I believe the draw is so nominal that it does not make a difference. Do note however, the unit is quite large (that's what she said). Recommend.

Exactly what I expected. Nice LED feature to see status of car battery.

During our recent cross-country move, I needed to be able to plug in my cell phone, the GPS and the DVD player for the kids (vital to everyone's general well-being during 3 days in the car.) I only had one working cigarette adapter in the car and needed an easy solution. This adapter worked great the entire time. I chose not to screw it into my console as recommended, but rather put some double sided velcro on the bottom and that worked fine. This is a fantastic product despite the fact that they spelled "socket" wrong in the description.

I travel by car often and sometimes I have my laptop, cellphone charger, rechargeable battery charger etc. And it is very inconvenient to have just one DC outlet so this socket comes very handy. It is not too big so it wont require too much space and even if your space is limited, the cord is long enough to put it on the car floor. Even better, it has a battery meter that lets you know if your battery is loosing power or if everything is still fine.

I was a little concerned the 3 way socket would be too big for use in the car. Instead, we simply lay it on the floor and it is out of sight. The cord allows the device to be plugged in up front and reach to the back seat when necessary. It has never come out of the "cigarette lighter" (how old does that make me?).
This company ships so fast, I wonder if they are telepathic! Nice job all the way around.

I purchased this before going on a road trip where I knew I'd need to charge multiple batteries at the same time and have a GPS navigation device plugged in as well. It worked great and the battery indicator is a nice touch.

I did notice that the middle socket did not seem as deep as the side ones, which was an issue for one of the adapters as it wouldn't plug in all the way. I was still able to use all three at one time because the other adapters were shorter, but it's something to be aware of.
