5.0 out of 5 stars Who needs a woman? You've got Arch Enemy!, January 27, 2002

I knew this album would rock. Why? It was ARCH ENEMY. My friend turned me on to them one day after we were talking and I asked him what ever happened to CARCASS. He popped it in the disc man and I was hooked. Ever since I have slowly purchased their albums. I heard the release of their newest album and I was not willing to wait for it to come out here! I purchased it like within two days. It was worth the cash because I put it in my CD player... and had goosebumps from begining to end. It's aranged with a non-stop barrage of harmonies that you'd expect from them. The female singer... well I was a bit apprehensive about it, but.. Angela if your reading this... WILL YOU BE MY WIFE? Heh Well.. why are you still reading this? Place an order!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hail ARCH ENEMY!, August 11, 2001

I just got my hands on this several hours ago and I feel quite confident giving it 5 stars. A truly phenominal new release from this remarkable group. I was initially drawn to this album when reading about the new female vocalist Angela Gossow, who was said to have these great deathy gutteral vocals and screams. I couldn't really believe it without hearing it, but now I see! I still can't believe I'm hearing a female. It's incredible. It reminds me most of IN FLAMES. Musically the album contains all the great guitar-chases that we have come to expect from an ARCH ENEMY-release. The sound reminds me of NEVERMORE with the melodious guitars, slow intros and powerful riffs that are very hooky, but still extremely tough. The band uses breakneck-speed for shade, contrast and variety, rarely for long moments in the songs. Hopefully this will be released soon in the US so more people can enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars hair raising, blood pumping music.., July 22, 2001
This review is from: Wages of Sin (Audio CD)
There I was sitting in the car with a friend of mine talking about music stuff. When I happen to mention "man, when is arch enemy releasing a new album..?", just before I said another word he raised his hand and said.. "don't say another word and listen" so I prepared myself for the best but when the music played my jaw dropped (like always duh.. ARCH ENEMY) but this time I drooled a bit, and then I said "MAAAN THAT GUY SINGING ROOOOCKS" (my heart started pumping faster at the sound of the music).. He said "What guy?". and I said, "What do u mean? did they actually hire a demon?) he said "nope, a girl". So I almost died laughing until he opened the CD cover and showed me her photo. I thought (AAaah THE GIRL OF MY DREAMS..). Anyway.. the music is extreme, and I couldn't believe how good this girl sings.
