5.0 out of 5 stars A heavenly taste for my dog.
My dog Glory, or should I say my spoiled dog Glory, greets me everyday when I come home from work. She is jumping up and down, all 23 lbs. of her, and carrying on until I go over to the cabinet where I keep her chicken treats.

The down side to all of this, is of course, they are very expensive and I am not sure how much longer I will be able to indugle her...

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of these treats
This post is in response to the death of my dog Chelsea. My dog was a healthy border collie mix. She had shown no signs of any illness until one night I come home to find her lethargic at the bottom of the stairs. She could not move or stand up. Thankfully we have a 24 hour vet nearby. 1.0 out of 5 stars Beware of these treats, May 23, 2010

This post is in response to the death of my dog Chelsea. My dog was a healthy border collie mix. She had shown no signs of any illness until one night I come home to find her lethargic at the bottom of the stairs. She could not move or stand up. Thankfully we have a 24 hour vet nearby. She was taken immediately and given a check up and had blood work done. The blood work came back with high spikes in her liver enzymes which the vet said was due to something that she ingested. The only thing that that had been introduced to her diet recently was Waggin Train chicken jerky treats. I had been feeding them to my dog for a few months (she loved them). I immediately stopped feeding her the treats. After being off the treats for a week she had another round of blood work and her liver enzymes started to return to normal. We had 1 more round of blood scheduled in 2 weeks to make sure that her liver has returned to normal. But unfortunately Chelsea did not live that long. I woke up on the morning of May 30th to her having a Gran Mal Seizure due to high toxin levels and she died in my arms. After her death I started researching Waggin Train Jerky treats and was amazed to find the large number of people that had posted instances of illness or death of their pet and they felt very strongly that the treats contributed to the illness or death. The FDA has issued an advisory concerning the feeding of chicken jerky products from China. Based on the fact that my dog had high liver enzymes and the vet attributed it to her ingesting something toxic and the fact that her liver enzymes started to return to normal after I stopped feeding her the treats I believe that the Waggin Train chicken jerky treats that I had been feeding her contributed to her death. I am not saying that every treat or every bag is dangerous but with them coming from China you never know what was added to them in the Chinese facility. My suggestion, stay away from them and you will also stay away from a $1000.00 vet bill like I had as well as the loss of a pet. JUST BEWARE. If you have experienced similar problems pass the word around. You can also file a complaint with the FDA. My suggestion is to do your own research, just Google waggin train jerky illness. You can read comments from other pet owners and make you own decision as to whether you want to feed this brand of treat or any other that is imported from China to your pet. I am posting this in memory of my beloved Chelsea and hope that the post will help to save the life of other pets. As consumers we should be able to question the safety of a product if we feel that it has caused harm. After my first post a friend that Lives in Las Vegas said that they had given their dog these treats and their dog had bloody diarrhea so they stopped feeding their dog the treats and their dogs bowels returned to normal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Switch from this brand to Dogswell, July 11, 2010
This review is from: Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag (Misc.)
I must first disclose that my Jack Russell Terrier loves these treats. However, I have done some research on the safety of this product and switched brands. These treats are made using chicken from China and the entire ingredient list is not disclosed. Additionally, there are multiple recalls and reports of canine illness or even death possibly related to these treats. I have switched to the Dogswell Shape Up Chicken Breast treats for a few reasons. 1 - They disclose their entire ingredient list as well as calorie content. 2 - They are made from cage-free chickens with no harmful additives. 3 - They detail their cross-contamination policy. 4 - Their products are tested by US third parties to verify their claims. 5 - My dog cannot tell the difference.

I do not have firsthand evidence of whether there is a correlation between illness and death with these products or not. I don't intend to find out...

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont Chance It!!!!!!!, September 29, 2010
This review is from: Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag (Misc.)
I bought this product for my 3 dogs, within 48 hours they were all sick. Throwing up,loose stools, lethargic. This product was the only new thing I gave them. It took them about a week to fully recover. I wish i had researched this brand before I had given it to my babies. If you care about your pets think twice before you use this product.

Do not purchase this product. My dog nearly died after eating this product. My 8 year old lab collie mix began vomiting blood after consuming these 'treats'. Upon taking her to the vet, the first thing he asked me was if I had been giving her any new jerky treats... she is the 3rd dog he had seen and treated after consuming this trash, including 1 fatality - I got lucky, I know my dog well... the other dog owner, not so much.
If you research this jerky (I wish I had) you will find numerous complaints of sickened dogs and fatalities, as well as a report from the FDA : http://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/NewsEvents/CVMUpdates/UCM054448
If you have had a poor experience with this product, please, PLEASE contact the FDA - we have to get this off the market! I have tried to be conscience of not buying MADE IN CHINA products, but the deceitful packaging from this USA company, got past me... my bad, my guilt for one very sick dog who spent 3 days in the hospital... but she's alive.

1.0 out of 5 stars My dog loves it but it makes her sick, September 17, 2010

This review is from: Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag (Misc.)
I purchased this product twice in the past because my dog LOVES these treats and just ordered two more bags. I thought I'd leave a positive review while I was at it, then saw the negative reviews from other pet owners about the FDA warning. I researched the symptoms online (look up "waggin train FDA" and you'll see them) and my dog has had many of these! :( In particular, my dog has had diarrhea, lost her appetite and was perpetually thirsty. We couldn't figure out what it was until we read that FDA warning and connected the dots.

I went to the waggin train website and they reference the FDA warning but state that this is because people use the product more than recommended. Well, I only fed my dog one strip per day (at night) as a treat, but that was enough to have caused these issues for months. I honestly hadn't looked at the ingredients or where it was made until now but I most certainly canceled my order and will be purchasing something else. It's a bummer because she really like these treats - but I'm now certain they were making her sick.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware!, June 25, 2011
This review is from: Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag (Misc.)
This is a treat my Sheltie has loved and now she is sick. I thought I was giving her a healthy 97% fat free treat instead I was slowly killing her. After many, many vet visits and tests and thousands of dollars she was diagnosed with Fanconi Syndrome. These treats should be taken off this web site and every store shelf in the country. Please tell every dog owner you know! Any treat from China is a risk.

1.0 out of 5 stars Killed my dog, November 23, 2011
This review is from: Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag (Misc.)
I was giving these treats to my Anatolian Shepherd and they ended up killing her. She didn't have a problem right up until the last few weeks of her life which were for the most part spent on dialysis at the vet. A cheap bag of dog treats turned into over $1,500.00 worth of vet bills, and worse, the loss of a loved therapy dog. Waggin Train is a company out of South Carolina, but the product is made in China. Recently, there has been a news article on the chinese dog treats. Amazon should pull this product to ensure the safety of others if Waggin Train isn't going to.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the risk, June 6, 2011
This review is from: Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag (Misc.)
These treats are manufactured in China, treated with irradiation and have way too many horror stories associated with the product. If lead can end up in childrens toys from China I can't imagine what could end up in a dog treat. Sure my dog loves them, he also loves dark chocolate but Im certainly not going to give him things that could potentially make him sick. Simply not worth the risk.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware, May 16, 2011
This review is from: Waggin Train Chicken Jerky Tenders Dog Treats - 48oz. Bag (Misc.)
My dog is a picky eater especially when it comes to treats. I normally feed her the Dogswell brand chicken treats. They are pretty expensive so I decided to give the Waggin Train treats a try. She became sick within 12 hours of eating them. Her diet is very regulated and the only thing different was the chicken treats. I stopped feeding them to her and switched back to the Dogswell ones and all was fine. I once again decided to try the Waggin Train chicken thinking that it may have been a one time thing. She got sick again! Throwing up, no energy etc. Fool me once....

There is something not right with this product.
