Great Product for the price,

I purchased this item from Menards in Wisconsin, it came already assembled and ready to go, I followed the instructions and completed
the required operation assembly, I applied a little oil prior to my first test and everything worked pretty good, what you have too do with the stuff your spraying is to ensure its really thin or well liquified prior to operation thats when it works best.

i bought this gun for painting my truck. i used rustoleum pro flat black mixed halfway with oderless mineral spirits to thin it out and help it flash/ dry faster. this gun was excellant.
things to know about the gun when spraying the hood of my truck or the roof while the gun is at a 45 deg angle downward you will get drips out of front of the gun where the paint canister screws on. just watch the drips so it dosnt land on your work. i would spray the gun across the hood with 2 quick passes then wipe the front of the canister with a rag to keep it to a minimum. also keep this gun full of paint it sprays on great but after 1/2 or 3/4 is used the gun will spit on the paint just refill then ur good again. the gun uses a plastic straw to suck the paint into the gun sometimes the straw falls out of the gun loose in the canister and paint will then spit like its low on paint. just make sure its stuck in the gun tight. all in all i got a great paint job out of this gun its way better than using rattle cans imo because i avoided the notorious black zebra lines that most flat black rattle jobs will leave. the gun comes with a cleaning brush sort of like a 22. cal barrel brush. it did clean my paint gun but after cleaning it with left over spirits it was pretty much done the bristles wear off pretty easily. this gun put a hole gallon of paint mixed with spirits on my truck. so after multiple coats and spraying over two gallons of paint/spirits well i say it was a good investment and i still have the gun for another project in the future if needed. i recommend it for anyone who dosnt have a serious air tool system set up.

Destined for the dump,

Gee, Mr. Wagner's idea SHOULD work. After all, he's been selling these things for over 50 years. A little motorized piston, atomized droplets of finish, no compressor needed. Seems simple.
Sorry, Mr. Wagner, go back to the drawing board. This thing is so inconsistent, tempramental, unergonomic, and downright messy that mine's headed straight to the dumpster after its first outing. One minute it sprays beautifully. The next it hardly sprays at all. Fiddle with the volume dial. No effect. Clean the nozzle with turps. Then it shoots big drippy globs of paint. Turn the knob. Works OK again... for one minute, then back to square one. An entire afternoon of that, my porch is a mess, so am I, and my right arm's sore. With all the fiddling, the sprayer ends up being no faster than a brush and pot... and a heck of a lot messier, what with the huge overspray and awkward container (especially when the thing's wet with paint). Poor coverage, wasted paint, plus it's heavier than sin. Save your money.
