Editorial Reviews

This opera is part of the Royal Danish Ring cycle, `The Copenhagen Ring,' which was sold as a complete box set of all four operas until now. One of the most successful Ring Cycles of recent years, which received acclaim from critics across the world. "One Ring cycle I can recommend heartily--musically satisfying, dramatically engaging and full of memorable imagery" --Opera Now These fantastic productions are conducted by Michael Schonwandt. With visually stunning and striking production and staging by Kasper Bech Hoten.

Although orchestra and singers sounds fine (nothing close to Solti's cast and VPO impressive powers) this is a horrible version of the last on the Ring's cycle. Siegfried and Brunhilde look old and everything less heroic, and machine guns instead of swords its hard to swallow. This production should have remained as a cheap CD production.
