5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Wagner Orchestra, August 26, 2002

This review is from: Wagner: Overtures & Preludes, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
What an orchestra! The CSO has the perfect sound for this type of music, and it doesn't hurt that Barenboim really knows what he's doing with Wagner's music. Every piece on this disc is played with great intensity and attention to detail. The sound is vivid as well, though it makes the high brass sound a little bright at times. Overall, this is well worth hearing. Just be sure to ignore the picture of Barenboim and that dumb hat...
