After reading a number of reviews for this product and many accounts of product failures, I decided to order it anyway, figuring that I was careful enough to do exactly as the instructions mandated to get satisfactory results. I was wrong...

After reading the instructions several times, and purchasing the swivel attachment that so many people recommended, I set it up, poured in my flat wall paint and turned it on... it failed to prime. No worries, the instructions told me what to do. After freeing the valve with the little tool provided, tried again and it worked beautifully... for about 10 minutes. After a pause of not more than 10 minutes to breathe some fresh air (spray gun in a plastic bag, just as instructed...) it would not prime. Tried everything I could think of and everything suggested in the instruction booklet. Finally, after about an hour of fiddling, I put the entire unit in the bathtub and began the arduous task of thoroughly cleaning it. Please listen to those who have also gone before you; this unit is a bear to clean! About an hour later, I had it as pristine as humanly possible. And then I made my biggest mistake... I decided to give it another chance. Bad idea!

Took it back to the area I was painting, poured in the paint, and nothing... the unit refused to prime. Back in the tub, another wasted hour to clean it a second time... then back in the box. Thankfully, Amazon's return policy is straightforward. UPS picked it up, and I got my refund. I'll put the swivel on eBay to try and get that $25 back, but the bottom line is: this machine is bad news! To those who have had a satisfactory experience - bless you! You very fortunate. Those of us who are mere mortals will have no such luck!

Used one of these with a power roller attachment to paint my whole (5 bedroom) house. With 10 foot walls, it was a lifesaver to not have to get down from the ladder to refill the roller. While it's not a pro quality product the pump seems to be powerful and I like the mostly plastic assembly since paint doesn't stick to it and it's easy to wash. Agree that it takes forever to clean but you have to clean it well to have it work next time you use it. Don't forget to clean or replace the filter in the sprayer handle. I also had a couple of priming failures early on but found that the best bet is to prime it with water (I only used latex paint) then empty the bucket and hose and put in the paint. Probably not always necessary but worked for me every time. I used it for hours at a time and did not have priming or pumping failures even after breaks. Did find that I sometimes needed to reprime (with paint) when I ran dry and added a gallon. Learned to make sure I never ran dry. Overall, worth the money I paid in time saved painting.

we used so far with stain, oil, and water based paint it works great, but you need to buy extra tips for the sprayer
the cleanning take a lot of time
but the machine its great, also the roller accessory save a lot of time and mess while painting.
