I have owned this sprayer for a couple of months and I find it to be a really good unit. It can spray exterior latex with little or no thinning at all. I own a professional style airless but it takes at least 20-30 minutes to clean after each use. I can clean this in about 5 minutes. If I am doing a small job this is perfect, but if I were painting the entire exterior of my house I would used the professional rig.

I noticed that some of the other reviews complained that they wanted a smooth finish with a shine and this unit wasn't providing that finish. I would add that to obtain that type of finish they need to use a compressor with an automotive type spray gun. This type of sprayer (airless) is not designed to spray high gloss finishes. It is designed to spray a finish like you find on walls or outdoor furniture and fences. The problem is not with the product but one of matching the sprayer to the type of finish desired. If you try to paint a house with an automotive spray gun it would take weeks or months to finish.

After much research I decided to just get this one and return if it didn't work. I wanted something mainly for paint that didn't require me to thin at all, and this says that's what it does. I first used this with Kilz Premium Primer and I chose to thin it a little bit, like 3/1 paint to water just because I figured it would work even better and would be easier than worrying since so many people have problems with the thickness of that. It worked perfectly. Very good spray, easy controls, smooth finish. I then used a high end latex paint without thinning and it again worked great. Cleanup is certainly something to consider, but it only took me about 5-8 minutes after each round of painting to clean up, which really is almost how long brush cleanup takes. I am very happy with me purchase and definitely recommend this product.

PS: I actually prefer the use of this to airless sprayers I've used due to ease of use and clean up. FYI

I read all the instructions and made every effort to spray with this gun. It kept shooting out little balls and created a very un-even finish. I imagine it would be ok for something like a deck or fence, but my project was a kitchen cabinet and I'm really aiming for a super smooth glass finish. You get what you pay for.

I purchased this sprayer to quickly paint some crown molding before I installed it. I read the instructions, prepared as directed, and even tried thinning the latex paint down with a little water to try and get rid of the globs of paint coming out of the spray nozzle. It worked a little better when thinned, but I still had to go back over all of the molding with a brush to even it out. That's what I was trying to avoid in the first place. This gun is going back to the home center tomorrow.
