This product is outstanding, really. It is professional quality with a powerful motor. I had 4 weeks of hair growth and on my first cut, my girlfriend shaved me clean bald with this clipper in just 5 to 10 minutes. There is no pain or feeling on the skin and it is equivalent to what one would experience when a barber clips your hair. While this clipper won't take you as close as a razor would, it is equivalent to a single day's hair growth which is exactly what most people like it to look like. This clipper is model #8110 and is part of Wahl's professional 5 star series, 785110. To my surprise, the package also included "a bonus" - two cutting guides (1/16" and 3/16"). This product should last for a few years and the included oil is to keep the blade rust free - it certainly would help if Wahl had provided more oil but that is really a trivial point. Likewise, while the cord is reasonably long, I would personally have preferred something a bit longer but this is just finicky me pointing another trivial point. Overall, this product is great, priced right, and is as advertised. Finally, it is made in the U.S.A. so that scores extra points from me!

I have read a lot of reviews for this product, and I am not convinced the people posting reviews have all used these clippers. I have been cutting hair for 20 years, and this is the first set of balding clippers I have ever purchased (never really had a need). First and foremost,these clippers are very sharp, and if you are not careful, you will put deep gashes in your skin! If you have bumps or moles on your scalp, these clippers will surely slice right through them. That being the case, of course, these clippers also cut hair very well, as they should. Wahl makes excellent, long lasting clippers. As I said, I have been cutting hair for 20 years and these clippers really aren't for amateurs or do-it-yourself head shaving. If you're using them to cut your hair, or the hair of someone else, take your time, keep the top, flat portion of the blades flush with the person's scalp (to minimize cuts), and be very careful around the ears. Second, for men that wear do-it-youself, clean-shaved heads, these clippers are not a good alternative to shaving your head with razors. Try an electric razor (like Norelco) instead, and then clean up the straggler hairs with a razor. Otherwise, as I said, be very careful!

I purchased this clipper over two years ago, and it has never let me down. Be warned: It works as advertised, and the results will be BALD. Actually, it works out to about a day's growth from a razor shave; I sometimes prefer using this to a razor, as there is less irritation. Also includes a brush and a handy comb for lifting hair to be sheared, or for doing overcomb work for tapers, or for trimming beards and eyebrows (which it does particularly well).
