This shaver replaced a Panasonic that cost over twice as much. The Wahl shaved faster, closer, and with less skin irritation than the Panasonic. It also lasted longer between charges. The only flaw immediately apparent was the lack of a pop-up trimmer. I thought it was an excellent value. I have a heavy beard, and it did the job. After having the product for a while, I purchased a new replacement foil & cutter bar assembly, as suggested in the instructions. The new replacement foil lasted exactly two weeks & fell apart (making it and the shaver useless)- it had a defect in the molding of the plastic which held it together. After some miscommunication, Wahl Customer Service replaced the defective part at no charge, telling me that they were aware of the defect and had remedied the situation. The shaver now works as well as it did when new.

THIS THE BEST SHAVING PRODUCT 4 BLACK SKIN ! no bumps! quick & ez. a word of advise...there's a cheaper knock off (refurbished) sold by Amazon, dont waste your time or $ on it! the WAHL 5star is worth the bucks.

I've purchased this shaver in the hopes that it would be the shaver I would use for the rest of my life. Unfortunately it does not live up to it's performance. It shaves unevenly and afterward my face is irritated beyond belief. I've owned Wahl products in the past but this has to be the worst. I would not recommend this shaver.

Because we have been happy with another Wahl device, a hair trimmer named "Peanut," when I had a difficult time finding a reliable foil shaver (Boy! When you review shavers here, it looks like there are a lot of unhappy users!), I tried this Wahl Pro 8061 5-STAR Beard Shaver For Men. I used it for less than two weeks and the foil split. I do not recommend this shaver at all. In addition, the packaging the vendor shipped the shaver in was very inadequate. The shaver was so loose in the package that the shipping process caused the shaver to actually break out of the clamshell packaging. When I opened the box, the shaver was just sitting loose in the box.

about me: I'm a coarse-haired Italian, I have to shave every day for my job. Ever since I began shaving, I've had razor bumps and ingrown hairs and my neck was noticibely red and sore. I could NEVER shave without bleeding from my neck --just too sensitive!

Where I get my haircut, they always whip out this electric shaver at the end to clean up near my sideburns. Every time that they've used it on me, I always noticed how clean and smooth it shaved my face - better even than my razor which is a Schick Quattro! I always thought that I got a good shave with the Schick, but according to my barber, AND MY BOSS, it doesn't get nearly close enough. My boss is a real hard-ass (retired marine) when it comes to being cleanly shaved.

Okay, so for the past few years I've known that they sold these shavers at my barber shop and decided when I have the extra cash that I would buy one from them at their price of $75. I asked last week and turns out they don't sell them anymore but my barber told me where to get one online at www. blah blah blah .com where the price was ridiculous. So, instinctively, I went straight to AMAZON! And behold, the prices are ridiculously LOW compared to what I was prepared to pay for it in the first place-- $47!!. What an awesome surprise!

My experience with the product: I love it.. there was no way in hell that I could keep putting up with blood on my work-shirt collars because of my crappy razors. I have shaved my face three days in a row with this product. To be honest, it leaves my face burning a tiny bit when I'm done shaving because it can take off some skin and I'm always scared that I'm going to wake up in the morning covered in a giant break-out of pimples and irritation, but I'm always wrong-- the mild irritation goes away shortly after shaving and every morning I look in the mirror and there's less and less irritation on my neck from those damaging razors.

Ok, pro's and con's:

Pros:
1.So far, after only using this for three days, my red neck and razor bumps are clearing right up

2.The day I got this in the mail, I had already shaved with my razor - my face, in my opinion, was as smooth as I thought it would ever be - the shaver came fully charged and I used it as soon as I took it out of the packaging and my face was amazingly smoother

3.The gold foil is hypo-allergenic and for people like me with super sensitive skin this is a must when it comes to dragging metal accross your face

4.I get a smoother shave than I EVER would with ANY razor.

5.Easy to clean and maintain - also can be used corded or cordless

6.I was annoyed that it was coming from Los Angeles because I live in Massachusetts and figured it would take forever to get here-- I GOT IT IN THREE DAYS!

Cons:
1.I can't find any yet :) My only complaint would have to be the packaging. The buzzer was practically out of the plastic box that was inside the shipping box making me think it was either tampered with, used and refurbished, or who knows what. After close inspection, I realised that it was just the size of the box that squashed the packaging open. Nothing inside the product indicated to me that it was NOT brand new.

I am in love with this shaver and plan on buying all the replacement foils and blades to keep this baby in good condition.

HEY LADIES, LISTEN UP!! I let my girlfriend try this out on her legs and she even fell in love with this! Me too, her legs are so damn smooth now!

And to any fools out there who say this shaver doesnt cut hair, you're right it doesn't. It cuts stubbles. I tested it on my arm and it doesn't shave long hairs.

The Product is the best I have had. Does what it says on the tin...Brilliant shave without bumps. Can not imagine how I have survived all this time without it.

The product works. I have a similar product already, and was just getting a back-up.

I used Magic Shave which take too much time and can be a hassle to clean up. My barber stared using this shaver and it is the only thing to shave me as close as Magic Shave without bumping up my face.

for the people who saying this product is bad DONT LISTEN TO THEM!! i bought these pair, and they ARE GREAT!! make sure when u save, you don't have any long hairs no longer than 1/36th inches.

This is the third or fourth Wahl Shaver I have owned. I first heard about it on the radio from Paul Harvey. I have tried others but nothing shaves as close.
