5.0 out of 5 stars Broken-Heart is Back with a Bang
To prove her journalistic chops, Libby Monroe ends up in Broken Heart, Oklahoma, chasing down bizarre rumors of strange goings-on--and finding vampires, lycanthropes, and zombies. She never expects to fall in lust with one of them, but vampire/single dad Ralph Genessa is too irresistible. Only the town is being torn in two by a war between the undead--and Libby may be the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Might want to read all the books in this series close together
This is the 4th book in the series. I'm not sure if its because I read the last book last August, or what, but I had a hard time reading this book. I normally can remember all of the characters in series, but I jusst could not remember anything about the characters in this one. And there wasn't a lot of details reminding you who each character was. Because of this, I just...

Well, Broken Heart has a new paranormal being, DRAGONS!!! I loved the beginning of this series, but the 3rd book was disappointing, now, book 4 has picked back up :-) I really enjoyed this one, (although not as much as books 1 and 2). My main complaint is that there are several action/fight scenes and they always seemed rushed and not well explained, I felt like I was skipping paragraphs or pages. Otherwise, it was very entertaining and had a really fun cast of characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vampires in Oklahoma, September 13, 2009

This review is from: Wait Till Your Vampire Gets Home (Broken Heart, Oklahoma, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
Michelle has done it again. The fourth installment of the Broken Heart, Oklahoma vampires is totally awesome. While a little harder to get into than the first three books, it was still a pleasure to read. The characters you had grown to love, you started to not like because they treated Libby so badly, but you understand by the end of the book. A must read.

This is one of my favorite vampire series....besides Twilight. This is more adult with a romantic comedy. I've gotten my mother-in-law and BF hooked on the series. I'm ready for more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Kudos for Michele Bardsley and Wait til Your Vampire Gets Home, December 24, 2008
This review is from: Wait Till Your Vampire Gets Home (Broken Heart, Oklahoma, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
In Michele's latest offering Libby finds herself in WAY over her head. Her conceptions of life are challeneged and her way of life has to be rethought out.
I was thoroughly enamoured by Ralph and his love for his children and willingness to do whatever it takes to keep them safe.
I have devoured this book and am encouraging all my friends, paranormal readers or not, to pick up this book and this series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Bardsley Read, December 23, 2008

I loved this book, as I have all of Michele's books. Despite the main character Libby holding views I don't agree with, I never found the book or the author to be "preaching" to me as another reviewer stated. She was simply a well written character with flaws and personality quirks. The story line was awesome, I loved the introduction of the dragons into the mythology and can't wait to see what comes next!

I loved this book. IMO, you felt like you were in constant motion. Now, you have vamps, weres, ghosts, zombies and now Dragons, yeah!!! and still humans.
I miss some of the original characters, they were there, but not a big part, but love where the series is going.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun!, August 8, 2010

This review is from: Wait Till Your Vampire Gets Home (Broken Heart, Oklahoma, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
What I Loved: I really love the continuation of this series and how it is encompassing the books that came before it. The couple in this book were both very lovable and relatively equals (no real alpha/beta). He was a strong male role model: good father, loyal husband (when his wife was alive), and had good priorities. She was a strong, educated, and earthy based person that you could count on. I really just enjoyed watching them fall in love (and no that isn't a spoiler--it is a romance novel LOL)

What I Liked: I really liked her parents. Her mom cracked me up! Also still love the triplet werewolfs--they are just a breath of humorous fun times. I enjoyed seeing the couples from the first 3 books and their kiddos.

Complaints? Only 1--and I will preface this by saying that I am going to reserve judgment till the next book but if the town gets blown to pieces much more, will there be a town?

Why I gave it a 4: This was probably my favorite book in the series so far--barely nudging out book 2.

Who I would recommend it too: PNR lovers who like a light read or chicklit lovers that like a little PNR.

4.0 out of 5 stars 3.5 stars - You can start here, but this one would probably be more fun if it's not your 1st visit to Broken Heart,AZ, January 12, 2009
This review is from: Wait Till Your Vampire Gets Home (Broken Heart, Oklahoma, Book 4) (Mass Market Paperback)
Well speaking from experience, even if you haven't read any of the other books in this series with vampire single-parents finding their mates, you can start with start here and still enjoy Bardsley light humorous vampire romance. The only challenge is that there is a really big supporting cast so I did have a little bit of trouble keeping track of who everyone was - you seasoned veterans will recognized everyone though (apparently most everyone is a past star of a previous book).

I liked Wait Till Your Vampire Gets Home, it was a quick cute read and the widower Ralph - father to twin 3 year olds - was an appealing leading man, a sweet knight in shining armor. And Libby, a paranormal investigator looking for proof of the existence of paranormal races and who ends up becoming her own evidence, is lucky Ralph is around when she needs a rescue or two. The romance in the book is pretty mild by mainstream romance standards, the fact that doing the horizontal tango with a vampire bonds the 'tango-ees' for a hundred years, means that Libby does a lot of lusting after Ralph before they finally hook-up. But when the relationship between her and Ralph heats up it's time to break out the fire extinguishers -- literally -- cause Libby and Ralph each were gifted with half of a dying dragon's fiery soul.

I have to admit that I didn't bother checking this series out before because I was put off by the drawing of an apron-wearing mom on the cover of the 1st book I'm the Vampire, That's Why (Broken Heart, Oklahoma, Book 1), but I liked this one well enough (and am dying to know who all the supporting characters are) that I will probably be checking out the previous books. It looks like they are a fun mix of vampires, werewolves, and other paranormal races, with a touch of humor.
