Book Description

June 1, 2006
Is your daily fix of Morning Edition more important than that first cup of coffee? When you read the paper, do you read it—front, back, and every page in between? From Wait, Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me!, the irreverent news quiz show broadcast weekly on NPR stations, here is the Page-A-Day Calendar for news junkies. With a wink and a definite nose for the offbeat, this quiz calendar tests your knowledge of politics, pop culture, science, and other items straight from the headlines. Saparmurat Niyazov, president-for-life of Turkmenistan, struck a blow for live performance when he outlawed what? Plus Mystery Quotes, Limerick Challenges, and other fun stuff. It’s NPR without the dignity.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best page-a-day calenders, January 18, 2007
This review is from: Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me! Page-A-Day Calendar 2007 (Calendar)
My wife and I exchange page-a-day calenders every year at Christmas, and sadly, most of them have been stinkers. (She had a Dr. Phil calendar last year that she gave up on by February.) This "Wait,Wait" calender is entertaining, even if you've never heard the NPR radio show from which it comes. Hope they do another one in '08!

3.0 out of 5 stars Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me Page-a-Day calendar, January 20, 2008
I've used page-a-day calendar cartoons for several years, but this is the first time, I used this particular one. I listen to and enjoy the NPR radio program its based on. On the radio I can often answer the questions because the news is timely, but a year or more later the same questions on the calendar are much more difficult and less interesting because the issue has often passed. I'll probably try a different page-a-day next year.
