5.0 out of 5 stars non-stop laughter, February 4, 2006
This review is from: If I'm Waiting on God, Then What Am I Doing in a Christian Chatroom?: Confessions of a Do-It-Yourself Single (Paperback)
Completely hilarious! This is more like it! Other "dating" books fill us with unrealist ideas...not this book, it shows how it REALLY is out here in the "battle" field. And the total humiliation our married friends, mothers, and church goers make us single christian gals feel! This book is awesome and will have you laughing away your loneliness because atleast you aren't her lol...A total wicked-awesome MUST READ!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Waiting and Wondering? Then You Have To Read This, May 26, 2008
This review is from: If I'm Waiting on God, Then What Am I Doing in a Christian Chatroom?: Confessions of a Do-It-Yourself Single (Paperback)
For some reason, as a Christian single in her 20s, I have always been wary of reading books about single life. Maybe it's because they're aimed towards dating and preparing for marriage, or the never been married. I was single but I wasn't dating, and I wanted some reassurance and encouragement that I was doing the right thing, and I couldn't seem to find anything that spoke directly to my situation. But after I came across Kerri's book, I decided to buy it and I'm very glad I did. It's very different from all the other books out there in that it deals specifically with waiting for true love to come your way. I'm not sure why, but considering that waiting is so important for Christians and has a lot to do with faith, there seems to be nothing out there for singles which deals with this. 'If I'm Waiting on God...' is very honest in that Kerri asks many questions I've asked myself: 'What if I never meet The One? 'What if I've missed him? If I'm still not ready when will I ever be?' These questions are impossible to answer, and I can only assume given that practically every book geared towards singles tends to be about dating or never being married , that people are simply too scared to approach them. I am so thankful that Kerri wrote this book because otherwise I would probably still be wondering if I was the only Christian single in the whole world who had questions about how long I would have to wait. I found myself empathising with her in almost every chapter; especially when she voices her fears and insecurities in the chapters 'What If' and 'Sunday'. Even if we've never questioned God's ways and timing directly, I'm sure we've all felt overwhelmed by doubts and scared it just doesn't happen. This book is refreshingly honest, funny and very real. I wish more books aimed at single people were like this.

A delightful and insightful look into the life of a Christian single twenty-something year old woman. From the first to the last page, the author's wit and honesty carry this book. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This book had me laughing, crying and soul searching throughout! This is the best book I have ever read on dating! Funny, real, and deep all rolled up into one great easy read! Kerri does a fanatastic job of relaying the true feelings and thoughts of a woman trying to trust God for a relationship, all while trying to take control at the same time. I think both women and men will enjoy this book! Guys- this may be the closest you will get into the true heart of a single woman!!!

Awesome. That is all I can say. When I first read this book, I was hesitant, thinking I was reading a book maybe only for girls, or maybe just some weird chicks diary that she had published. Man was I wrong! If anything guys, let this book be a guide to what is going on inside the minds of single women everywhere. It is almost like you are reading Kerri's inner monolgue as you turn page after page waiting to see what in the world happens next. Who knew that truth could be as interesting as fiction? Well this girl, Kerri knew and put it all down on paper. Not only that, but she is pretty freakin' funny as well!
I more than recommend this book. Now, I had better get back to sassysingles.net before they automatically log me out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Close to my heart..., February 7, 2006
This review is from: If I'm Waiting on God, Then What Am I Doing in a Christian Chatroom?: Confessions of a Do-It-Yourself Single (Paperback)
Of all of the Christian dating books I have read (and I've read them all) this book remains close to my heart. It gave me something that no other Christian dating book gave me. Peace. Peace about waiting on God, Peace about going through all of the drama and stress. I truly feel that God led me to this book. No other book seemed to answer my questions and no other book was written by someone who was going through what I was going through. It's nice to know that someone else out there is going through all of the craziness with you. This book also touches on a subject that the other dating books don't..."waiting on God". I don't know about some people but this has always confused me. Some books say that you can't just wait for God to do it; you have to step in yourself and help. That just never made sense to me. If God can do anything surely he can send a guy my way. Anyway Kerri goes through it all and is painfully honest. That's what I appreciated. I'm on my 4th month of my dating hiatus. It's been difficult but whenever I need support or a pick me up I just reach for this book. God Bless!

5.0 out of 5 stars Go, Kerri!!, March 29, 2006

This review is from: If I'm Waiting on God, Then What Am I Doing in a Christian Chatroom?: Confessions of a Do-It-Yourself Single (Paperback)
I was so excited to finally read a christian singles book that I could relate to. Kerri Pomarolli was open and honest about her struggles and I really appreciate that. She showed both her challenges and her triumph. It made me feel like I was ok even though I face some of the same challenges. She is truly a joy and I'm so thankful that God brought this book in my path!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pomarolli's authenticity is refreshing!, March 16, 2006

This review is from: If I'm Waiting on God, Then What Am I Doing in a Christian Chatroom?: Confessions of a Do-It-Yourself Single (Paperback)
Kerri Pomarolli takes a stab at examining the dating world of Christians and provides an honest yet hopeful glimpse for her readers. I was tickled by the true humor in her adventures and found that the pace of the book kept me glued to the pages. More importantly, Pomarolli satisfies the craving so many women have for an authentic reflection on dating that does not glamourize the pitfalls of sex outside of marriage. I have personally lived on both sides of this line and champion Kerri for her courage and transparency for telling it like it is - you have given women of faith hope!
