This bunch of drawings by renowned cartoonist R. Crumb were made while waiting for food in various restaurants, or after eating, while people sat around drinking wine & talking from 1990-1995. They were drawn on paper placemats, & almost all of them were done at three restaurants in Greenwich Village in New York City. The proprietors saved the placemats, which Crumb borrowed back in order to put this book together. The restaurants are Le Micocoulier, Le Trouilladou Pizzeria, & Auberge des Volets Verts.
