I can understand WHY it was made into a movie for TV!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Waiting Game (Mass Market Paperback)
This one was made into an original Harlequin movie on The Movie Channel! Sara Fraser goes for visit to her uncle Lowell Kincaid. However, he seems to be missing. Knowing his secretive background she begins to worry. Her uncle once told her that if anything ever happened to him she was to go to Adrian Saville. Adrian just sold his first thriller novel. It is all about gold and documents hidden during the Vietnam War and the agent sent to fetch them at all costs. Lowell had given him the idea during one of his wild stories. He knows Lowell well and is not concerned when Sara shows up telling him that Lowell is missing. Even after they visit Lowell's cabin and find it tore apart, Adrian is not too concerned. Uncle Lowell had left a message on his answering machine for them to find and instructed Adrian to look after Sara. She has a vivid imagination. Sara deals with it all well until she finds out Uncle Lowell "gave" her to Adrian as a "present" for finishing his novel! Then she finds the sketch of a wolf and knows that Lowell is REALLY in deep trouble. Seems that the renegade agent, code-named "Wolf" was in the area. Lowell had told her a few things about this agent. A real loose cannon! The fact is hit home when someone begins trying to kidnap Sara. ***All this is just the beginning. It sets you up for a roller coaster ride of secrets and outrageous surprises! Many twists that only the most observant readers will figure out before they are revealed. I can see why it was made into a movie for television!***

I found this book full of humor and quite different from JAK's others. The twists kept me wondering what to expect and I enjoyed them immensly. This is a book to read carefully and at least twice. Trust me I don't say this about any novel! Please read my other reviews and tell me if they helped you.

I thought this book was great! Plain and simple. I was "on the edge of my seat" while reading it. I thought it was very suspensful and well written. One of her best ones. I just wish I could see the movie but I can't seem to find it on VHS anywhere.. <so if anyone knows where I canfind that just email me :) >

READER BEWARE! New cover disguises reissue!,
By Bluesheltie "kz" (Mesa, AZ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Waiting Game (Mass Market Paperback)
I believe this title was originally published as a part of the Temptation line. I've been reading Jayne Ann Krentz since she published as Jayne Castle for Candlelight Romances many years ago. She then moved over to Silhouette books and published there as Stephanie James (Desire, Special Edition) and Jayne Ann Krentz (Intimate Moments). Obviously I like how and what she writes. Jayne is has become a very popular and well developed author and her titles are snapped up as soon as they hit the bookstores. Therefore, greedy publishers wanting to get more dollars from avid readers, REISSUE early titles. It doesn't matter that the older works were not as sophisticated as new writings(some are extremely formuladic, some are very good and memorable), all the publishers care about are the dollars. Through sad experience I've learned to ALWAYS check the copyright date before buying books by popular authors such as Krentz, Roberts, Coulter, Johanson, Spencer, etc. I feel that it is a scam by the publishers on the reading public to not state somewhere on the cover that the book was previously published. And, some publishers looking for greater dollars are reissuing works originally marketed as paperbacks in hardcover, where they can get many dollars more.

Jayne Krentz wrote this early in her career as a writer. It's not as polished as her later efforts, and her characters aren't as well-developed.

Boring! What??,

This review is from: The Waiting Game (Mass Market Paperback)
Some of you need to check the books that you have. This is a typical Krentz book. Certinaly not boring. Can you imagine being given to someone? I read everything I can get my hands on by Krentz, I really like her books as Amanda Quick. With her plots you feel like there is a point, a mystery to solve, with a good romance thrown in. I seriously suggest these reviewers check the books they have.

wonderful book,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Waiting Game (Mass Market Paperback)
The characters in this book were intriguing. The plot to this book was more detail and more interesting than the T.V. movie. I thought movie was boring because the movie did not coincide or truly portray Ms. Krentz's main characters or the book itself. So, therefore, for those who have miss the T.V. version of this book, dont't worry about. Stick with the book.

Classic Jayne Ann Krentz,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Waiting Game (Mass Market Paperback)
I agree with the reviewer who wondered if she'd read the same book as the others who have commented. If you love JAK, you'll love THE WAITING GAME. It's on my keeper shelf (in the original issue), and when I reread it recently I enjoyed it almost as much as I had the first time around.

Classic JAK!,
This review is from: The Waiting Game (Mass Market Paperback)
Frankly, I don't think the other reviewers and I read the same book. If you enjoy JAK, especially her earlier categories, you're going to love this book. World-weary Adrian Saville is the quintessential Krentz hero - an alpha male who recognizes his mate when he finds her. Bright and optimistic, Sara Frazier is the perfect foil for Adrian, and her strength and intelligent match his perfectly. The suspense is tightly woven and utterly engrossing. Read this book!
